I have noticed that My ‘one that got away’ is now single (via Facebook).... we were together S teens.... had a dalliance in our 20’s, brief contact a couple of years ago but he then started a new relationship. He’s now single... I’m so tempted to message him..... do I???

I went after my "one that got away" literally the second he was single! Haha. We are happily married for 10 years and have dogs, house, babies - the lot.

hidden inbox is where messages from non friends go. You have to actively open it to see if there are messages, you don't get a notification

If you have sent him messages on FB messenger before then you've given each other permission to send and receive messages (and see read status) so your message won't go into his hidden inbox. Good luck!

Op I only recently discovered the hidden inbox it's where messages go from people you aren't friends with on fb you have to actively go into you don't get a notification - I found a few really old messages in mine. Add him as a friend

I met my one that got away when I was 17, he had just started a relationship and not wanting to destroy his happiness I sat and waited from a distance before eventually giving up when it was clear his relationship was progressing not ending. 6 years later we were both single and got to talking over fb and discovered we have immense chemistry. It's been another 6 years since then and we're so very much in love and have two beautiful DCs together.

To check for your hidden messages, open up Facebook on the desktop. Then, tap the Messages icon in the upper right. In the* menu that pops up below, you'll see that “Message Requests” is grayed out next to “Recent.” Select Message Requests

I had no idea there were hidden messages until a while ago and there were quite a few there when I looked so it is not an area easily seen.
Sorry the only way is to friend request with a message!

But we’ve had plenty of contact on messenger two years ago and not friends! I’m sure it will go to normal inbox? When I was giving away something to someone local onFB we were messenging and and we were not friends, no request and there was nothing hidden or anything?
