Hello, is anyone awake and willing to chat with me about anything at all.
I'm waiting for daybreak, and then for school drop off time, so I can go and be with my truly amazing, so loved dm while she passes away. I am heartbroken. Been awake most of the night wondering if she's going to hold on long enough for me to with her.

Anyone else up? Tell me what you're up for and help me pass the time. Please.

vanilla I'm so sorry you'll be going through this too. It's way way too young.

Another hand hold here op. Daybreak always makes things that tiny bit more bearable after the longest night.

I'm trying to encourage an 11 week old that he needs to sleep for just 1 hour more - dh fed him at 11 when he usually would get his night feed at 3! He's going to wake up a hungry sausage but id rather he does it at 6 rather than 5 so I can just get up and start the day.

Is there a friend can do the school run for you?

aintnutinchanged · 10/09/2019 05:20

@AlrightOkNow I rolled down a hill at the weekend and actually made myself sick not as fun when your an adult 😂😂

Vinosaurus · 10/09/2019 05:22

I'm so sorry about your mum, what a difficult time for you all. And being awake at night just magnifies everything doesn't it?

I'm awake with effing heart palpitations (plus DSD and her mates who were staying over woke me up at 4 leaving for the airport to go to Ibiza) which have been going on for days now.

Anyway, have a photo of my moggie (hope it uploads) - he's called Jonesy and, although very much ours, spends his week days at the council offices next door, where he had his own bed and is a regular attendee at planning meeting/weddings etc. and often returns home with paper clips attached to the magnet on his collar 😂.

@WLmum hi there, woke up early and can hear an owl outside.... so sorry about your mum. Your DDs sound wonderful - so much love and kindness there xxx

TheMustressMhor · 10/09/2019 05:24

Am also awake due to insomnia.

So sorry to read about your mum. You must get your DH to take emergency leave. Essential - do not think twice about it.

Have spent the night reading the Westminstenders threads on here - as if I wasn't terrified enough. Someone kindly posted a link to the medicine shortages page - thanks for that.

I remember waiting the last night of my mother's life out. It was a surreal time. Knowing someone you love so very much is soon going to die is so difficult to come to terms with.

It sounds like you have a lovely family.

I have two cats too. Here to hold your hand.

ItsInTheSpoon · 10/09/2019 05:25

I wish these pet photos would upload!

Mummyoflittledragon · 10/09/2019 05:26

I’m always up around this time. Sending you strength. Flowers

WLmum · 10/09/2019 05:26

Dh is up now and calling it in. I know he's anxious about it, but he's pretending he's not to support me

I'm glad your DH is going to be around from now. You can relax about that anyway.

ItsInTheSpoon · 10/09/2019 05:29

@TheMustressMhor lovely colours! Are they up with you now or snuggled asleep?

I hope things work out @WLmum Flowers

HollysTeflonSeptum · 10/09/2019 05:31

Morning hugs for you and your family OP.

Words never feel sufficient in these situations but I do know you are lucky and blessed to have such a wonderful relationship with your DM, and she'll always be your DM. As you said not everyone has that experience which makes it all the more bittersweet for you now.

Lots of us here are thinking of you Thanks.

P.s. if you want to know something mundane and distracting, I do believe dcat has just left me a lovely accident to clear up near the back door...the git. Shall I take a pic of the culprit?

TheMustressMhor · 10/09/2019 05:32

Buster is asleep on his chair. It cost £450 a year ago and was intended for either DH or me when we fancied a recline.

Buster has appropriated this chair.

McVicar snuck on to it at 02.15 or thereabouts while Buster was trying to persuade me to give him a treat.

Buster soon batted her off it when he noticed.

HeronLanyon · 10/09/2019 05:32

Flowers op. I
Am so sorry you are going through this. It is very tough.
I lost my best friend lovely old ma 9 months ago. It hurts like hell. But one day at a time you will get through it and kind of get alongside it.
Your ma sounds so lovely and you and dh also plus your D.C. you will think back a lot to how you have done things right and as best you can.
Sending proper full on support thoughts. And to everyone else up and about for similar reasons.

Longlivepenguins · 10/09/2019 05:32

Here's hoping that dh's employer can be reasonable so you can all get through this with one less thing to worry about.

The 5 kittens have just woken up and decided it is playtime. Their mother is chirruping at them in encouragement.

Charm23 · 10/09/2019 05:32

So sorry to hear about your DM, OP. I'm really glad your DH has taken leave so you can go be with her.

I'm up with my 5month old puppy to let him out for a wee and give him breakfast.

TheMustressMhor · 10/09/2019 05:33

@HollysTeflonSeptum

As long as you don't take a picture of the actual shit....

TheMustressMhor · 10/09/2019 05:35

Five kittens?

This thread has a lot of cats represented within it.

WLmum I hope you're drinking lots of tea and making sure you eat little and often.

ItsInTheSpoon · 10/09/2019 05:36

@VanillaSugarr messybumpooch looks so cute you’d forgive him anything!

@TheMustressMhor they sound like my cats ... can’t get up from the sofa to go and get something without coming back to one curling up in the warm space I’ve left behind

HollysTeflonSeptum · 10/09/2019 05:38

@TheMustreeMhor No fear not, only the feline responsible, he's legged it now however. The git.

sashh · 10/09/2019 05:42

Hi OP
