Hello, is anyone awake and willing to chat with me about anything at all.
I'm waiting for daybreak, and then for school drop off time, so I can go and be with my truly amazing, so loved dm while she passes away. I am heartbroken. Been awake most of the night wondering if she's going to hold on long enough for me to with her.

Anyone else up? Tell me what you're up for and help me pass the time. Please.

@WLmum can he call emergency leave, just in case?

WLmum · 10/09/2019 04:59

She's been such a huge part of their lives. We've been so lucky to have her. I know not everyone is blessed with good familial relations, so I am grateful.

Wide awake googling new clothes that should say.

maidenover · 10/09/2019 05:00

Do you have any neighbours who your children could go to school with if you need to leave in a hurry? I know breakfast time seems like an awful time to ask but I’d be happy to help in these circumstances.

WLmum · 10/09/2019 05:00

prosecco I think I will ask him to. He's due to get up shortly.
I came downstairs to hag out with the cats and watch the sky.

Why are you awake at this hour prosecco?

@WLmum Caaaaaats! Will you show us your cats?

Perhaps your DH can get emergency leave and take the girls so you can go straight away!

maidenover · 10/09/2019 05:02

Although saying that if I was your DH I’d call in for emergency leave. It is so difficult when employers are difficult though it makes what should be an easy decision so much more stressful.

proseccoaficionado · 10/09/2019 05:02

@WLmum where I am it's 07.02, so getting ready for work!

WLmum · 10/09/2019 05:04

Ah! I forget Mumsnet reach is far! Here's one of my boys looking a bit fed up that I flashed the camera in his face!

2 grey and white brothers. The dds have been after pets for years but dh wasn't keen. We actually these 2 in January, knowing we would be facing difficult times I hoped they would be able to provide some comfort and distraction for the dds. And they are. Dm actually came to collect them with me and was here when the dds came home from school to their surprise.

Cheers Tesbel, enjoy your cider. 90min commute sounds rough after such a shift. Hope you sleep easy.

TipseyTorvey · 10/09/2019 05:08

Sending you many good thoughts @wlmum. It sounds like you and your mum have been very fortunate to have each other. I'm glad you'll have so many good memories to comfort you. It's very nearly dawn I think so have a lovely cup of tea and watch the world wake up. I've been in with my youngest DS for the past half an hour. He started school yesterday and had a nightmare so I'm guessing it's all a bit stressful for him. I'm going to be a bit useless at work today though I suspect. Definitely have your DH take emergency leave. Work never cares about anyone really and this is important.

aintnutinchanged · 10/09/2019 05:11

So sorry to hear about your mum I'm up because the bloody cat scratched the door to get in then room and has woke up baby not impressed!!

VanillaSugarr · 10/09/2019 05:13

Morning all! I have a 12 week old cockerpoo puppy who stole a courgette from my vegetable patch and has woken me up to see the mess she has made in her crate. I knew there was something wrong as she never barks at 4am.

Have just finished clearing it up and am sitting down with a nice cup of tea while MessyBumPooch has gone back to sleep on a cushion.

We will also be facing this in about 3-4 weeks’ time as DMiL is also in her last stages of cancer. She is 73. It’s too young, isn’t it?

I think that this is an emergency. Is there another school mum who you could call and ask her to take the DDs to school!

Longlivepenguins · 10/09/2019 05:14

I wish mnhq would solve the photo upload issue....

maidenover · 10/09/2019 05:16

@VanillaSugarr can we see a picture of your puppy?

Longlivepenguins · 10/09/2019 05:17

Morning Vanilla. Nice wake up for you. Not! Tea all round, I think.

AlrightOkNow · 10/09/2019 05:17

Awake due to insomnia. My favourite thing to do is sit and look at the sky but I've just realised I haven't done it since my DC was born. It's funny how you forget the simple pleasures. One of my other ones up until I was about 16 was rolling down hills, it used to bring me such joy. I wonder if I can do it in Greenwich Park as an adult - might get a few looks though!

Here for the hand hold Flowers I hope your DH can take emergency leave, if not maybe annual leave?

Brenna24 · 10/09/2019 05:18

Your mum sounds amazing. Her legacy is living on in your parenting of your dds too.
