anyone awake? Please chat with me for an hour

Hello, is anyone awake and willing to chat with me about anything at all.
I'm waiting for daybreak, and then for school drop off time, so I can go and be with my truly amazing, so loved dm while she passes away. I am heartbroken. Been awake most of the night wondering if she's going to hold on long enough for me to with her.

Anyone else up? Tell me what you're up for and help me pass the time. Please.

No experience with parental loss but I have been where you are with my beloved Grandmother.

Take comfort in knowing you were loved by her & how loved she is.

Thanks all. I'm tucked up now in her old bed next to her hospital bed. I can't sleep yet so going to read for a bit. Dbs in the room next door.

I hope you get some sleep. Being right there means she is not alone, whatever happens tonight. If you sleep through it, that's okay too. You are with her, loving her, til the end - whenever that might be.

Just seen this thread, I just wanted to send you a hand hold and a hug.

Couldn't sleep because of physical pain, sitting here with tears streaming down my eyes. I just rang my mom and told her I love her. She just said 'you soppy sod its after 1, I know you love me go to sleep!'. Your DM knows you love her too. You will both be in my thoughts tonight Flowers

I've just read your whole thread, I lost my dad in January this year, he was in hospital but was desperate to come home. Your mum is surrounded by those who love her, she knows you are there, try & get some rest even if you don't sleep, I hope when the end comes it is peaceful for all of you x

Just read your whole thread and want to come in late with a handhold. My lovely mum in law passed away a few days ago. We sat with her round the clock just like you for three weeks. I'm sure she knew we were there though she had Alzheimers for many years and knew nobody. But she was hugged and kissed and stroked by all the family and we all told her how much we loved her and told her it was ok to go. She finally slipped away as the family members sitting with her waited in an adjoining room while the caring staff in the nursing home tended to her for five minutes. We are preparing for her wake tomorrow in her daughters home (I'm in Ireland and that's how we do it here). We will open the home to visitors who wish to say a prayer at her open coffin, have a cuppa and a chat, and share memories. Her funeral will be on Friday and we have made it as personal as possible to reflect what a wonderful woman she was during her 93 years on earth.
All deaths of loved ones are difficult but none will ever affect you as much as the loss of your mum as you well know. I wish you strength and comfort in the days ahead xx

Thank you all for your love and support.

My darling mum died in the early hours of this morning.

I was sleeping in her room, woke with a start and she was gone.
