Ok... this has freaked me out and I'm pretty chilled

(NC as I’ve text about this to a few people who haven’t replied yet)

I woke up about twenty min ago, funny feeling and went to check locks downstairs for reassurance (all secure).

There is a note on the kitchen sideboard, lined notebook paper and light blue ball point in blocky neat handwriting. It says:

‘This is your house Kathleen. You live here. David has the front bedroom and your bedroom is at the back. This is your house Kathleen and you can look at the garden.’

Really tidy kitchen, in the middle of an empty side. I went to bed last. Obv I’m not called Kathleen or anything similar and I don’t recognise the handwriting or even the pen ink.

Maybe this will be easier to grasp or solve in the morning? But right now I’m a bit 😳 and unable to sleep...

Blimey. Do you think perhaps you’ve written it in your sleep?

Someone working in your house left it? Look at other pages, remember your old notebook?

Who might David be?

Is here a pad of that paper in the house?

Is there anyone else in the house?

Also, it sounds like the instructions someone would write to a person with dementia. Is there any chance someone has mistaken your house for a neighbours?

How odd. Sounds like something you might write for someone with Alzheimer’s. I wonder if someone in your household found it outside somewhere, thought it was interesting and brought it in?

It’s a spiral top long notepad, we have none to my knowledge. I have a hatred of ball points and have none. The handwriting is miles away from my cursive or DHs

This post seems like an unreliable dementia narrator. I feel anxious. Please provide more reassurance, OP! You have me frightened too.

Weirdly I have a relative (now sadly passed) called Kathleen. She has a DS called David...

Who is Kathleen?

If I knew who the names were it would be far less freaky...

If it was someone in the house it was someone with dementia so nothing to worry about.

Having said that, have you searched the whole house including cupboards?

That would really freak my out too op. Who else is in your house now? Are you sure none of them could have put it there?

This is creepy. I hope it gets sorted out and you are safe. It sounds like something someone will have written for someone with dementia. We used to write things like that for my grandmother. Thinking of you!
