(NC as I’ve text about this to a few people who haven’t replied yet)

I woke up about twenty min ago, funny feeling and went to check locks downstairs for reassurance (all secure).

There is a note on the kitchen sideboard, lined notebook paper and light blue ball point in blocky neat handwriting. It says:

‘This is your house Kathleen. You live here. David has the front bedroom and your bedroom is at the back. This is your house Kathleen and you can look at the garden.’

Really tidy kitchen, in the middle of an empty side. I went to bed last. Obv I’m not called Kathleen or anything similar and I don’t recognise the handwriting or even the pen ink.

Maybe this will be easier to grasp or solve in the morning? But right now I’m a bit 😳 and unable to sleep...

It’s your other half or kids playing silly buggers

FriedEggs1 · 31/08/2019 10:26

No, it's not, no 🤣

louise5754 · 31/08/2019 13:19

I personally think Kathleen just needed someone to acknowledge what happened to her.

But people did know. The neighbours who told the OP knew.

Unless you mean Kathleen wanted the new occupants to know which they probably wouldn't if they hadn't found the note and asked around?

Just throwing it out there the writing might not be a match to most or any of the journals after dementia had set in. There’s an artist who painted a self portrait every so often with either dementia or Alzheimer’s and the difference is scary.

Atleast it’s likely not a wooo explanation.

You have a DH and yet it was you that checked on house security which led to the finding of this note? Let your man be a man. Next time get him to check security. As for now, I’d tell him of the freaky note, big him up about being your protector and how glad you are to have him etc. Then leave the worrying to him and get some sleep.

This actually made me laugh out loud Grin

^ Is this for real???!!!!! Properly made me chuckle!

BrittleJoys · 01/09/2019 07:38

Gosh, @Beanie3, what a comedian you are. Do you quiver in your lacy bed jacket nightly while your DH patrols the house for burglars and suspicious notes with a poker, wearing his HARD MAN T-shirt?

Mumsymumphy · 01/09/2019 08:08

@Beanie3
The 1950's called - they want their thinking back.

Clovko · 01/09/2019 09:27

I don’t know if @Beanie3 is funnier (I’m glad I’m allowed to roam my own house freely without permission) or @Funguy because of their comment compares to their username (killed any parties lately...?)

The note in itself IS creepy... "... and you can look at the garden"...

But surely the most worrying thing is not the contents of the note, but the fact that someone got into your locked house, and left the notepad. Phone the police, Please.

LoseLooseLucy · 01/09/2019 11:34

No need for the police josbd, no-one broke in.

Let your man be a man

Oh my God 😂😂😂

ThePhoenixRises · 01/09/2019 11:53

Totally off topic, but I have always been the one that gets up, to investigate any strange noises in the night. Me, DDog and a baseball bat.

Mumsymumphy great minds think alike!

StanleySteamer · 02/09/2019 14:08

For heavens sake stop posting on here, call the police and say you have an inturder who has hidden in your house after leaving a note. He/she may be in the loft, the garage, have left the house again and the door latched behind them!

I love how people comment on a thread of 472 messages without bothering to try and read it first !

I love how people comment on a thread of 472 messages without bothering to try and read it first !

But they’ve got something uniquely clever and important to say that no one else thought of in the preceding 18 pages!!!

We are all intellectually richer due to their insightful contribution. GrinGrin

DGRossetti · 02/09/2019 15:36

Has the OP cancelled the cheque ?

Tonnerre · 02/09/2019 16:13

StanleySteamer, if any intruder is still hiding in OP's house five days after she started the thread, they've probably died of thirst by now.
