Ok... this has freaked me out and I'm pretty chilled

(NC as I’ve text about this to a few people who haven’t replied yet)

I woke up about twenty min ago, funny feeling and went to check locks downstairs for reassurance (all secure).

There is a note on the kitchen sideboard, lined notebook paper and light blue ball point in blocky neat handwriting. It says:

‘This is your house Kathleen. You live here. David has the front bedroom and your bedroom is at the back. This is your house Kathleen and you can look at the garden.’

Really tidy kitchen, in the middle of an empty side. I went to bed last. Obv I’m not called Kathleen or anything similar and I don’t recognise the handwriting or even the pen ink.

Maybe this will be easier to grasp or solve in the morning? But right now I’m a bit 😳 and unable to sleep...

What's funny about this story is that I had a dream last night that I broke into my childhood home just to see what they did to the decor. I didn't leave any notes mind you 😂 but if you have a mustard sofa OP and a breakfast bar with white and silver bar chairs then I would be freaked out 😆😁

If you lived alone - very creepy. But not in a house with 5 other people.

Although more likely it's made up. Especially as your phone couldn't take a photo of it.

The OP is Kathleen and the family is a figment of her imagination. David is the live-in helper who everyone thinks is the good guy at the beginning of the movie but who is revealed to be a bad'un by the end. Only Kathleen's imaginary family and Mumsnet can save her. True story bro.

I'm relatively new to MN and I read the where is my ironing board thread, the where have these pictures come from thread, the who is knocking at my door at 2am thread and the a parcel has been left on my bed thread.........I never knew so many people had weird freaky things happen to them in their houses Confused

You have kids. Have you or any of them been visited by a health visitor/OT or other hcp recently. Maybe fell out of their stuff.

Or... You are K. Check around the house for other notes or about your person for memento style tattoos.

Maybe the dog wrote it that op found in her garden in a previous post. The female dog that turned out to be a male stud on a studding website in the pic she linked.

No way would you go back to bed if you found an odd note left in the middle of the kitchen, written with a pen you have none of and paper you also don’t have.

I am the doorbell poster and can only vouch for my own thread being genuine and confirmed by MNHQ. These things do happen and I can only assume that other posters feel like sharing on here to reduce their anxiety. I got the ring doorbell as a result of a posters suggestion and a lot of helpful support and advice on here. Sadly life is strange at times. If people choose to believe or not it’s up to them
