Ok... this has freaked me out and I'm pretty chilled

(NC as I’ve text about this to a few people who haven’t replied yet)

I woke up about twenty min ago, funny feeling and went to check locks downstairs for reassurance (all secure).

There is a note on the kitchen sideboard, lined notebook paper and light blue ball point in blocky neat handwriting. It says:

‘This is your house Kathleen. You live here. David has the front bedroom and your bedroom is at the back. This is your house Kathleen and you can look at the garden.’

Really tidy kitchen, in the middle of an empty side. I went to bed last. Obv I’m not called Kathleen or anything similar and I don’t recognise the handwriting or even the pen ink.

Maybe this will be easier to grasp or solve in the morning? But right now I’m a bit 😳 and unable to sleep...

I'm creeped.

If I found this in my house at night be damn sure would be waking everyone up immediately to ask if they put it there!

MoominKitty · 29/08/2019 02:00

Very weird.. How long have you lived there?did you check if doors were all locked and secured? If i was me my DP would be woken up and checking it out with me tbf.

BobTheFishermansWife · 29/08/2019 02:00

Sounds crept, but I'm sure there is a logical explanation?

AlbertWinestein · 29/08/2019 02:16

I would so not be leaving my DH asleep if I found this. I'd wake him up and show him the note!

AwdBovril · 29/08/2019 02:17

I would definitely not be able to sleep if that happened.

hardrainsgonnafall · 29/08/2019 02:20

OP found note and was freaked out because she was last up. Woke husband and he explained that he left the notebook there for whatever reason. OP still feeling adrenaline rush posts on MN and makes her excuses about rushed my off because she knows rational posters would just say ask your husband. In the morning she’ll post that husband has explanation.

Am I right?

FairyDust92 · 29/08/2019 02:25

Nah eff this. I'd be out that house quicker than Usain Bolt! 🏃🏻‍♀️

Alicewond · 29/08/2019 02:25

Frankly if I woke up and found a note inside not written by me or anyone in my household, I’d call the police, not settle down and go back to sleep

Mumsymumphy · 29/08/2019 02:28

I reckon: You were the last to go to bed and then woke up at midnight and went downstairs. Your DH may have woken up in the time you've been asleep and also been downstairs and got it out ready to talk about in the morning?

There's always a logical explanation for these things.....

**....starts wondering if that other poster's (from a few months ago) ironing board ever did turn up after mysteriously going missing....

@Leahbealle eh? Temperature doesn't determine if you're pregnant. Take a test

Whataliberty · 29/08/2019 02:35

@FairyDust92 Lmao!!!

That's seriously creepy though... Could one of the kids have written it?

HeyMonkey · 29/08/2019 02:40

@Leahbealle are you okay?... the amount of water you drink doesn't affect your pregnancy test Confused if you're confused if you're pregnant post a picture of your test on Mumsnet if you want other people to take a look for you.

What the actual fuck have I just read??? Bizzare

Charley50 · 29/08/2019 03:27

I just think that someone found it in a borrowed or 2nd hand book and left it lying around. It's obviously for someone with memory loss.
