Anyone watching the Jade Goody doc

I’m loving watching this. God love jade. So sad her life was tragically short. It’s such a blast from the past. Anyone else watching?

I would have thought that Jade would most likely be born with an addiction to drugs rather than drink, most drug addicts don’t drink as well, I’m an ex addict here and I have never been into drinking and most addicts I used to know weren’t either, it’s usually one or the other, obviously some drug addicts like to drink as well but most don’t.

Sorry, I don’t believe that article for a second claiming that jade has FAS. For starters the way they refer to her is absolutely vile. “Severely mentally incompetent”? Hardly. She was working as a dental hygienist when she entered BB. That takes a bit of intelligence and common sense. Not to mention passes in maths and English GCSE at least.

That said, I actually had (the tiniest bit) more respect for Jade than the others purely because in the interview afterwards, at least she owned what she had done and seemed genuinely contrite, unlike Jo and Danielle who seemed vaguely confused there was even an issue

I think Jade probably had a better agent tbh and was given the opportunity to make it look like she'd seen the light.

I won't watch the programme but remember it all happening.

FWIW Jade wasn’t a dental hygienist. She was a dental assistant.

I thought by the name of the news item that it was probably satire but it's not actually funny at all. I have heard that Daily Mash articles that people post on Facebook are taken seriously Hmm, but they are usually hilarious and so obviously a piss take.

I bawled my eyes out watching last night's episode (the wedding, omg) but I also cried at Jamie Olivers documentary, so I am definitely hormonal.

I can't comment on what kind of mother she was or what kind of friend she was, but I can comment on what I witnessed on prime time tv.
She was a racist bully.
The producers and everyone involved in BB have some (lots of) responsibility here too. The media industry used and abused a vulnerable person for monetary gain, and the less said about the 'journalists' the better. Pretty much everyone involved in the making and breaking of Jade should be ashamed of themselves.

I don't think anyone is saying that her death at such a young age is anything but tragic, but the way people are determined to turn her into a saint, despite evidence to the contrary, is baffling!

I've been driving myself crazy trying to find an actual credible source stating that Jade had FAS but all I can find is people saying it other boards Confused I know I read it somewhere other than that stupid satire page! There was a documentary years ago where a doctor said it was obvious she had it and then I looked it up but I have no idea where Confused

Gosh those documentaries were so sad. Poor Jade. I didn’t like her at the time of BB to be honest, I thought she was awful. I didn’t know what an awful childhood she’d had. And I’m not excusing her racism but given that she wasn’t too bright it makes me wonder if she really realised how racist her comments were. And they were racist.
What is worse though, was Danielle and Jo’s behaviour. They were just awful and so lacking in contrition.

I did find it particularly sad when Jade was so dismayed at Jackie being first to be evicted from the BB house. I honestly think she wanted to set her mum up in her own career, to boost her self esteem and help her be independently wealthy. Despite her childhood she really did love her mum unconditionally.

I don’t think for a second that jade was as stupid as she made out. She maybe lacked a bit of general knowledge but she was pretty savvy and I think she played on the ‘dumb blonde’ persona. Notice how she’d dropped it during her second BB stint.

The final episode was very upsetting to watch. I thought she was incredibly brave during her final months.
