Threw a bucket of water over the patio as need to put another line of clothes out.

After that I'm getting the frozon hot water bottle out the fridge and going to lie down.

I have found my people! I don't sun bathe and have pale skin.
Slept without any bed clothes on top, woke up cos I felt cold, put a sheet on top, woke up cos I was too hot...
So glad that I booked leave off work today.

Slept ok as kept the ceiling fan on all night. Looked cloudy and cooler this morning but has suddenly jumped to 28 and will be 31 this afternoon. So looking forward to it cooling down.

We’re forecast 26 today, tomorrow it drops down to 19.

The trip to the cinema worked very well yesterday afternoon! The film was almost 3 hours long and there were 30 minutes of ads and trailers beforehand so we were nicely air conditioned!

Catherine same here. Cracking headache. Cannot wait for it all to go away. V grateful not to be on Tube today.

Has anyone else here seen the story last week about people having to live in shipping containers? 34c + they aare inside People have taken to sleeping on the walkways.

This weather is nasty. How can anyone feel comfortable?! I keep checking the weather forecast and hoping it stays the same tomorrow. 21 is the high tomorrow, compared to 31 today! Let's hope it's the end if the heat now.

I really need to clean. My house is a tip and an insect graveyard, anything that gets in is lucky to get back out alive. A fly flew out of the fridge this morning - lucky sod must have had a lovely night in there!

I detest the people before us for putting a conservatory on the south facing wall. Dh is finally coming around to sorting it out before next summer. It doesn't have a door into the house so we can't isolate it and it just acts as a huge furnace heating the whole house. I think we need to think about demolishing it or putting on a proper roof. I guess 20 years ago when they put it on the summers were a lot more pleasant

My DD asked me today when I was going to help her with some self assembly furniture she’d ordered (I had offered). So I told her definitely not today! I said she’ll have to wait until it cools down considerably, which I’m hoping is tomorrow. Literally one of the last things I want to do in this heat is try to make flatpack furniture!

Our high of 21 today was utter crap.
Tomorrow is meant to be 18 and raining.

Them fairy fuckers are playing with me....

Still hot here, mid Hampshire. I had my shower an hour ago and my PJ top is already stuck to my back and I'm sweating in not very nice places .

Apparently we may have some rain at 10pm. I hope so!

Faires are claiming it's now 14c here and raining.

It is raining. The 14c however, is waay too optimistic but it's cooler so I'll take it. Already had a nasty seizure from not sleeping and need to get food after Monday's horrendous temperature.

Thinking of those where it's still unbearable.

We're forecast a maximum of 18 here in the Midlands today, it's not raining yet but is due to start shortly I think. It was sunny when I walked the dog earlier but it's clouded over since we got back.

Forecast is 22 here but there's a nice breeze and the sun is hazy so it feels absolutely glorious after yesterday's hellish temps.

Had a horrific night last night. Skin itching like crazy and dd up and down complaining. Dh seems to snore much worse when it's hot too . Hopefully that will be the last hot night of the year 🤞

I know I've been really inactive this year, but oh well. I hope everyone has survived this summer. I'm hoping Autumn is finally on it's way and we can relax. (I thought it was, and we've just had some crazy hot weather. We also had a rather impressive thunderstorm here last night.) When I was on holiday from the 7th-11th in Sussex it was cool and really windy and it was lovely.

Well it's still 24 here today which is better than 30+ but still a good bit higher than my "preferred" temp. Although there is a bit of breeze here and there so not as bad.

24 today and breezy and I spent the day on the beach,utterly perfect and so much cooler now!

yes, sun and most places haven't lost stored heat at all - the office hasn't, the Tube hasn't, the flat hasn't. Office also has floor to ceiling windows and I just want the sun to go away.

am I the only person still finding it hot outside in London?

Positively chilly on the coast today and I and to wear a cardi. I can imagine it's warm in London,I'm warm there even in December tbh!!

Rosa, no you are not. Had an appointment today, arrived with sweat pouring down me. It was 25 which is still hot when it's blazing sun. I was most disappointed! But we're on the cusp of September so here's hoping it's almost over!
