Threw a bucket of water over the patio as need to put another line of clothes out.

After that I'm getting the frozon hot water bottle out the fridge and going to lie down.

just thank you.

I want to go for a walk now bit but nervous as it’s not the best area. Confused

Becca19962014 · 25/08/2019 21:19

It's supposedly cooler from tomorrow. Here.

Yes I know. I'm not holding my breath. We've rarely had any days below 20c for weeks, mostly 22c+ and that's the fairies estimate.

Didn't get out at all today, hoping cold will be better for staying in. That's another thing, why have I got a sodding cold in a bloody heatwave. It's like two years ago when I got pnumonia in summer.

Anyone up for a fairy hunt? Not the nice ones obviously just the little fuckers who work for the metoffice, accuweather and BBC... Maybe a bit of torture will make them work properly.....

justasking111 · 25/08/2019 22:35

I went out earlier to bring the washing in, the grass felt so cool I wanted to lie down and sleep right there.

RosaWaiting · 25/08/2019 22:39

I went out briefly

It still quite grim and humid.

RosaWaiting · 25/08/2019 22:39

I would sleep in the garden if I had one.

Becca19962014 · 25/08/2019 22:55

Tomorrows temp just revised up.
Fuck.

MadisonAvenue · 26/08/2019 00:25

Bank Holiday Monday was supposed to be cooler but the forecast is now saying 27c.
I’ve booked cinema tickets to see Once Upon A Time In Hollywood for the afternoon. It’s a long film, close to 3 hours of air conditioning.

RosaWaiting · 26/08/2019 00:59

It’s 33c here tomorrow afternoon

So I have the cinema debate...but bus ride...hmm....

Becca19962014 · 26/08/2019 10:04

Don't know what to do about my appointment tomorrow, or even the one this morning come to that. Already well past the so called maximum with realfeel of plus 5c. No wind. No breeze. Nothing.

Neither place has air con either.

Really scared. Not option to stay in today Sad

RosaWaiting · 26/08/2019 11:57

Becca, how are you doing, did you decide?

Today looks like being worse than yesterday. Argh.

justasking111 · 26/08/2019 12:18

Hands up who is seriously considering some type of air con. in the home next year?

Becca19962014 · 26/08/2019 12:24

To be honest rosa totally and utterly had enough Sad

Had no choice but to go out this morning as it was a crisis check if I didn't I'd have the police here (long story). They advised of I don't go tomorrow they'll call police so must go then too.

It was horrendously hot in there. Supposedly the temperature is "only" 24 with realfeel of 27 definitely closer to 27. It was supposed to be around 18-20 today.

Fell over because of blood pooling in my legs.

Cold doesn't help as have a temperature and to cap it all off my fucking council has decided to cancel tomorrow's waste collection and begin their once a month collection.

So I'll have six weeks, yes six weeks, worth of waste by then including incontience products. They say recycle everything. I can't. I struggle to wash my plates and bowls I've no functioning to wash fucking rubbish and council won't provide carers to do that. The so called service for incontience is no use either - every three weeks starting middle of September, it's hit 30c here and been between 25 and 30 since Friday afternoon. My flat fucking stinks I needed that collection tomorrow. I can't use the bags they're giving people, even if I could do I really want to be advertising to everyone im incontinent? Like it's not fucking humiliating enough being my age and going through double incontience being mocked for it now I'm supposed to use these massive heavy duty bags I can't store anywhere and certainly can't use with my hands with HUMAN WASTE : INCONTIENCE PRODUCTS ONLY (plus Welsh equivlent) in massive letters written all over it.

RosaWaiting · 26/08/2019 12:31

Becca sorry to hear that. I had a feeling you’d have to go out.

Weird but have you considered a go fund me type thing to maybe raise funds for more help? I know you shouldn’t have to.

Just, apparently some people in this building have had the glass cut to fit window air con. They were told by the management company that they’d have to put it back as it was before trying to sell, but why? These flats need air con.

I actually don’t think there’s much point going out if it’s 33c. I’m too irritable for cinema and blood pressure will get lower and I’ll start falling over my feet etc.

Becca19962014 · 26/08/2019 12:49

Thankyou for understanding. Sorry for the emotional splurge!!

RosaWaiting · 26/08/2019 13:25

Becca, no need to apologise
If you can’t vent here, where can you?
Offers cool air - we need an emoji!

Becca19962014 · 26/08/2019 13:29

We need cool air!!!!!!!!

Asta19 · 26/08/2019 13:31

I just went to the local shop, 15 minutes walk total, and it’s hideous. I had big plans of getting stuff done today but I have again shut myself in my room with the portable air con. I’ve decided there’s no point to me planning to be productive when the weather is like this, as I’ll just fail and then beat myself up over it. Big sympathies to everyone else suffering. I’m just hoping this is the last burst of 30+

Bobbindobbin · 26/08/2019 14:11

I’m a lizard and it’s too hot for me today. Feeling quite light headed

Hellishot · 26/08/2019 14:38

I spent the morning in bed with fan pointed at me. DP is in a pub beer garden. He's mad, it will be horrendously hot and crowded.

Justasking I'd prioritise air con over heating. I'm in a loft conversion so we don't need to heat it much in winter.

Becca I really feel for you. Hospitals and similar places are hell in the heat. They're too hot all year round.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 26/08/2019 16:09

omg its soo hot. Im melting im going to die

It makes everything so boring as well.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 26/08/2019 16:11

Plus I've justed my monthlys. Hp, hip bloody hooray. Exhausted, already hotter than usual and I've nearly run out of sanitaries so I'll have to go out. God help me.

Madein1995 · 26/08/2019 17:26

It's too hot and I hate it 🥵🥵 (stamps foot as though am a oddler in mind)

Had to go to the shop which was 2hr round journey in boiling heat on buses. Came back and it's sweltering. Bottles of water not freezing quickly anough. Am making do by wearing thinest nightie j own and having cold showers.

Do not understand people who sunbathe or go out in this. They are mad. I am hiding away where it's marginally cooler and am dreading going to work tomorrow

Madein1995 · 26/08/2019 17:46

One good thing about being grown up is not being forced outside to play in the heat because'its lovely out.' instead I get to hide indoors with pizza, fan, curtains drawn, cold drinks and Netflix. Much more civilized
