Morrison's - what is better from there than anywhere else?

We don't have a Morrison's nearby but will pass one on way home from a night away so will do our weekly shop there.
We'll just be getting stuff we need for the week, but then wondered if there is anything you all think is better from Morrison's than anywhere else?

Rainbow frittata. And their home delivery is far superior to Tesco. They even tell you if something will be out of stock so you can change your delivery date.

TheSquatLobster · 22/06/2019 13:53

I agree their plants are very good value.
Salt & pepper baguette, and Brittany butter with salt crystals.

ToEarlyForDecorations · 22/06/2019 13:54

Their pork is superior to other supermarkets. Other than that I don't find Morrisons that different to other supermarkets. Although I do my main shop at ASDA.

Morrisons fresh desserts are lovely i.e. profiteroles, strawberry flan, black forest Sundae.

Morrisons own brand ready salted kettle chips are like eating solidified sea water. So so salty.

Pasithea · 22/06/2019 13:56

19 crimes red wine.

Crinkle77 · 22/06/2019 14:41

Not sure if I'd bother. They seem to have terrible supply problems resulting in gaps in the shelves.

notatwork · 22/06/2019 14:47

Crucials sauces. They are in 500ml bottles and apart from morrisons I've only seen them on burger vans: Burger sauce, yogurt and mint, garlic may, barbecue, chilli and garlic.
Also in the Asian aisle they do 3 or 4 tins for a pound of chickpeas, various beans etc which are excellent value.

On the fish counter they don't descale unless you ask them, so remember to make them do it before they bone and fillet your fish for you. So annoying to ry and remove scales from one fillet at a time at home!

bakingcupcakes · 22/06/2019 14:53

Salt and pepper Tiger rolls. I love them but suspect they're probably not very healthy. Grin

TheQueef · 22/06/2019 14:59

Tinned bean salad (no tomato sauce) and ready cooked Chinese ribs.

ChrisPriss · 22/06/2019 15:07

Their cafe breakfast is really great

BreconBeBuggered · 22/06/2019 15:09

lowers healthy vibe of thread Their own brand diet Irn Bru is perfectly acceptable - I buy it now in preference to Barrs. It's paler but doesn't have the weird taste you get from other own brand attempts at making it. Don't know why ; you'd think it would be the same.
I prefer Morrison's The Best cauliflower cheese to anyone else's. DH likes their selection of loose bread rolls, especially the beetroot and raisin and the olive one,

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 22/06/2019 15:13

Custard donuts

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 22/06/2019 15:14

I think their donuts are good - my local one uses powdered sugar instead of caster/granulated and it makes them taste better!

boooey · 22/06/2019 15:14

If you fancy a treat, Morrison’s cream cakes are delicious and far better than Sainsbury’s.
Good bakery section, nice bagels.
The fish is nice too.
It’s a good shop imo

problem1234567 · 22/06/2019 15:23

Their fresh croissants surpass all the other supermarkets and Greggs/Wenzels.

Tink1990 · 22/06/2019 15:24

I know its been said but I just gotta. Their Tiger Bread and rolls!! The best ever!

Sexnotgender · 22/06/2019 15:25

It’s the only supermarket I’ve found paratha in!

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 22/06/2019 15:27

Thank you all - home now and sorted. Bought loads of plants. My favourite food buys today were big bag of wonky mangoes for £2 (5 medium to large) and wonky peppers (bag of 7 for 1:45). Also bought a good selection of meat and fish - thankfully had the cool box with us .
I saw several clothing items I liked but no fitting rooms so didn't buy anything, which is a shame

Morrison's sausages - the pork ones from their 'the best' range.

And their olive ciabatta although it's usually sold out

At the moment our one is doing massive packs of donut peaches for only £1

ellaballoo · 22/06/2019 15:30

Continuing with the particularly unhealthy options ... the battered halloumi in their veggie chilled ready meal range .

Saucery · 22/06/2019 15:31

Their fresh bread rolls, the soft ones.

ellaballoo · 22/06/2019 15:32

Oh ... and they have fab knickers . I think I like them as they attempt to hold my stomach in after the battered halloumi .

Powerplant · 22/06/2019 15:35

Morrison’s Spelt bread and beetroot and raisin rolls 😊

MediaMum1224 · 22/06/2019 15:36

Peppermint creams, own brand in a bag......bloody gorgeous. So lucky I don’t have a Morrison’s in my town, I’d be the size of a house Grin

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 22/06/2019 15:54

They sell things that other shops round here don't stock - eg. real marrows in the autumn, soda crystals, kidney, proper shoe polish in a tin. I don't know why tesco /asda etc feel that people don't want these things anymore.

My local Tesco (a decent sized superstore) doesn't sell couscous anymore. It sells the flavoured instant stuff, but not packs of plain couscous. "No demand" for it, apparently!

WeedsAndMoss · 22/06/2019 16:03

Wonky Avacados. £2.40 for a big bag of various sized avacados!
