Morrison's - what is better from there than anywhere else?

We don't have a Morrison's nearby but will pass one on way home from a night away so will do our weekly shop there.
We'll just be getting stuff we need for the week, but then wondered if there is anything you all think is better from Morrison's than anywhere else?

Fresh cream raspberry turnovers 😋 And the sling in the oven tandoori chicken breasts 😀

I can't believe no-one has mentioned their doughnuts?!

Oh and their own brand floor wipes (15 pack - blue packaging) have a new smell and are now our floor wipe of choice!

FromthePinkGlitterySide · 22/06/2019 09:56

Their chicken pakoras in the deli bit are amazing!

Stravapalava · 22/06/2019 09:58

Their own brand tinned soups are very nice, they are actually flavourful, unlike some other supermarkets (don't judge, I take them to work for lunch!)
own brand sandwich fillers
own brand ice cream - they are usually 2 for £3 on big tubs, the peach and raspberry deserves a special mention
breakfast toppers range

GreyGardens88 · 22/06/2019 10:03

Most of their sandwiches are made fresh on site and not imported in from 3rd party factories like all the other supermarkets. And as others mentioned the deli section is amazing. I think Morrisons is really underrated. Unfortunately I have a crappy overpriced sainsburys on my doorstep

Fuckthepainaway · 22/06/2019 10:03

Another one saying meat and fish. It’s the only place I can find beef skirt. Also their fresh bread, the salt and pepper bloomer/crusty rolls in particular. Their lunch meal deal is the best out there.

The food to order used to be amazing until
Some bright spark in management decided that none of their stores will sell the full range that is advertised.

c75kp0r · 22/06/2019 10:05

too true LuLuu - I wouldn't buy anything prepared or cooked on site at our local one. You see things like shelf-packers putting (packet) bread on the floor while they rearrange the shelves - I know it's wrapped, but am I then going to put that pack of bread on my worktop where other food goes?

WildForTheNight · 22/06/2019 10:07

Hummus topped with roasted garlic and artichoke. It's honestly like crack, I've been buying 1-2 tubs a week for the last month.

MrsMiggins37 · 22/06/2019 10:07

The “the best” kitchen roll.

poppet31 · 22/06/2019 10:09

If it has a cafe they do some lovely food there. Really reasonably priced too.

ItchySeveredFoot · 22/06/2019 10:10

Jalapeno hummus! Don't know anywhere else that sells it. Their Belgian buns are also delicious.

FloatingthroughSpace · 22/06/2019 10:12

They do the best supermarket delivery as well. They provide you with lists of the items bought grouped into, for example, meat, store cupboard, and all arranged by best before date. I stick it on my fridge and can see what order I need to cook the meat in at a glance. Saves that thing of digging the chicken thighs out from the back of the fridge to find they are 2 days out of date. Really helpful for disorderly minds like mine!

BertrandRussell · 22/06/2019 10:14

I’m doing my first ever online shop today- I am embarrassingly excited. I might be adding a couple of things.....

Ohyesiam · 22/06/2019 10:16

Meat. They have their own farms.

Pleasance · 22/06/2019 10:17

Large tubs of black olives...my favourite

Needcoffeecoffeecoffee · 22/06/2019 10:17

Doughnuts
Their 'takeaway' Chinese and Indian food - not the ready meal ones but the separate ones with rice in one, sweet and sour chicken separate. Their spring rolls are nice and crispy.

I feel like I should mention something healthy to balance out!! Grin

Lamentations · 22/06/2019 10:33

Thought of another. Their Greek yoghurt is thicker and creamier than any others I've tried.

YesQueen · 22/06/2019 10:35

Salt and pepper baguette! And their cheese topped bread rolls
Cream cakes are good as well

YesQueen · 22/06/2019 10:36

Oh and their luxury own brand ice cream (the best or whatever it's called)

IAmAlwaysLikeThis · 22/06/2019 10:38

mustard

What brand is the gochujang? Is it an actual Korean brand?

ilovepinkgin33 · 22/06/2019 10:40

Their jalapeno poppers in the freezer section are lovely, £1 a pack

Also agreeing with the meat and fish section, which I find to be very reasonably priced...you can get a lovely shoulder of lamb for under a fiver
They also sell off the offcuts on the deli counter very cheaply, really handy for sandwiches or putting with a salad

bakedbeanzontoast · 22/06/2019 10:45

Their Quark is by far the best going.

Crocky · 22/06/2019 10:47

Date and apricot oatie.

ExsandOhOhOhs · 22/06/2019 10:49

Is this a little marketing ploy OP? Grin

I love Morrisons actually, very good standard of food.

womaninthedark · 22/06/2019 10:50

So if I worked for a marketing company, and I wanted to raise the profile of a particular customer, how would I do it?

womaninthedark · 22/06/2019 10:51

Ah, Exs, we think alike.
