Mine wore l'Air du Temps when I was little. The scent of it takes me straight back to childhood.

I must ask the DC if there's any particular perfume that I wore that they associate with me.

Gemmines, I think thats how you spell it😯I loved the smell of It,!

bellinisurge · 20/06/2019 18:46

None.

Violetparis · 20/06/2019 18:52

Anais Anais or Red Door. My Grandma used to wear one from M&S called Florentyna, they still sell it and I always use the tester when I am in there to remind me of her.

Joy.

And my dad smelled of something called, I think, Vaseline Hair Tonic.

I’m going to say something very rude to the English now, but when I was a little girl, there was a lot of BO about. My parents were immigrants and washed much more than the English did- so smelled much nicer than most people’s parents Grin

She hates perfume but her mother always wore Kiku. I've still got the last bottle she bought before she died 33 years ago and it brings her back every time I smell it.

ChicCroissant · 20/06/2019 20:49

Geminesse - I used to like that myself!

Some perfume memories on this thread.

ChevalierTialys · 20/06/2019 20:55

White Musk from the body shop. Love that smell. It reminds me of subday mornings and my mums cuddles.

Blimey that makes me realise how old I am!

Corneliawildthing · 20/06/2019 20:59

My mother wore the overpowering Estee Lauder Youth Dew - a horrible smell to remind me of a horrible woman

runningonberocca · 20/06/2019 21:00

Lanvin Arpege - she loved it - still does. Gives me a cracking migraine the minute I catch a hint of it though!

Iambuffy · 20/06/2019 21:02

Opium

Claricethecat45 · 20/06/2019 21:04

Arpege by Lanvin alternating with Estee Lauder Private Collection....when I was very small it was Fiji by Guy Laroche - all evocative and she's been gone 16 years

Processedpea · 20/06/2019 21:11

Charlie Grin

Tweed. It's interesting trying to work out the age of posters by their replies and what was fashionable when.

redeyetonowheregood · 20/06/2019 21:30

My mum wore magie noir and cinnabar when I was a bit older, and Avon timeless when I was little.

Now she loves all the Burberry scents

ZaZathecat · 20/06/2019 21:31

Mum: Rive Gauche
MIL: Ma Griffe

joan12 · 20/06/2019 21:38

My mum wore Tresor by Lancome.

I wore Body Shop Dewberry and graduated to Sublime by Jean Patou and was very sad to find it had been discontinued.

Processedpea · 20/06/2019 21:42

We used to call ma griffe my giraffe. Easily entertained in those days.

Don't! A PP's grandmother used to wear Charlie.

definitelyshouldknowbetter · 20/06/2019 21:52

My mum always used to wear Estee
Lauders Beautiful, only if she was going out though.

Having read this thread all the way through, what’s struck me is just how few different perfumes have been mentioned, a lot of the same ones have been repeated several times. If you walk into a department store these days you would be overwhelmed with the choice in fragrances and I bet if there was a similar thread asking for your favourite perfume there would be much more variety. Was it that there wasn’t as much choice or was it that it was more of a “treat” than we see it now?

U2HasTheEdge · 20/06/2019 22:09

Poison!

She doesn't wear it now, well she wears Hypnotic Poison which I absolutely love. She wears Bronze Goddess in the summer. She does wear others but these are the main two.

My dad used Joop.

Corneliawildthing · 20/06/2019 22:28

Oh dear God just been reminded of Ma Griffe.I was given some and hated it so gave it to my mother. Then she persisted in wearing it even when she was with me! Confused

YouFellAsleep · 20/06/2019 22:39

My Mum wore Tweed when I was little and I sometimes pinch a squirt in Boots when I'm feeling nostalgic. She passed away 4 years ago and I have her bottle of Lancôme Miracle and I can't possibly ever wear it again, instantly reminds me of her. The DC sometimes spray it on their teddies, to think of her.

My favourite perfume is Coco Chanel and the DC have already told me it's the perfume that will remind them of me, when I'm dead 🤦🏼‍♀️

Ohyesiam · 20/06/2019 22:42

Balenciaga quadrille. Used t nearly choke me in the car.

puppylovebaby · 20/06/2019 22:51
