Hand hold: DH missing after "accident"

I know it's not been long, but this is really out of character and not sure what to do next.

Rang my DH on his mobile to let him know what time I'd get in and he didn't answer - often happens so then call him on work line. His work said he'd called in on way back in after lunch saying he'd been in a car accident but was fine, and neither hide nor hair heard since. That's all I know - no indication of the severity of the accident or where he or my car (which he drives) have got to.

I've been trying him on his mobile countless times, called 101 to see if they've got him somewhere, also A&E - but no joy.

He's been off grid for about 5 hours now, when he'd normally have picked me up, got the Tesco and we'd be sitting starting our weekend. But not even a text to let me know he's not dead in a ditch, and I don't have that phone tracker either on this latest handset.

Starting to panic slightly - if anyone is around for a hand hold or some pointers as to how I can track him down that's would be much appreciated....

Also called the insurance company in case a claim had already been reported that could lead me in the right direction, but nothing...

Here and hand holding. Am sure every minute feels very slow. Hope you get news soon x

Usuallyinthemiddle · 07/06/2019 19:22

Don't know but big hugs. I'm sure there's a logical explanation. Could he be negotiating public transport home?

Joopy · 07/06/2019 19:22

Can you call his work place again?

MrsKCastle · 07/06/2019 19:22

Here as well. What did 101 say? Can they look out for his car? Do you know where he went in his lunch break? Could someone have a drive round and look for him?

Wildorchidz · 07/06/2019 19:23

Have you contacted the police to see if any accidents have been reported to them ?

mumofblueeyes · 07/06/2019 19:23

Could you phone his boss again? If this happened during work time they have a duty of care for him and might offer support / help?

Usuallyinthemiddle · 07/06/2019 19:23

Without looking alarmist , could you ask on Facebook?

TiggeryBear · 07/06/2019 19:23

Here & hand holding. Fingers crossed you hear from him soon.

Widowodiw · 07/06/2019 19:23

Although it’s 5 hours you need to call the police based on the fact that he’s been in an accident. Do you know where he’d gone at lunch time? Police need to be looking for his car.

MrsJonesAndMe · 07/06/2019 19:23

Oh goodness, that sounds very scary - hope he gets in touch with you soon.

orangeshoebox · 07/06/2019 19:24

handhold here.
I know it's nerve wrecking.
my dh once got locked in in the office, before mobile phones and the room he was locked in didn't have a phone...

any friends of his you can try to contact? his parents?

AnotherEmma · 07/06/2019 19:24

A hand hold from me Flowers

Have you tried all the nearby hospitals?
Any colleagues he's friendly with that you could contact to ask if he was in contact with them or made it into work in the end?
Any close friends he is in regularly contact with? Unlikely he'd contact them and not you but worth a try maybe.

NoSquirrels · 07/06/2019 19:24

Surely the accident was reported to the police? Seems like they’d have a record if they ran the plate? Or were they saying nothing at all had been reported?

Wildorchidz · 07/06/2019 19:24

Could you drive the route he may have taken?

GrassIsntGreener · 07/06/2019 19:24

Does he have an iPhone? Are you able to log in to his account on a computer and track it using find my phone?

MarthasGinYard · 07/06/2019 19:24

Hope you have news soon Thanks

Morgan12 · 07/06/2019 19:24

I'm taking it that he never went back to work then? So all they know is he had an accident and was on his way back?

Any idea how far away he was? Could his phone be dead and hes trying to get a train etc?

SilverDapple · 07/06/2019 19:24

What a worry, hope all is well!

endofthelinefinally · 07/06/2019 19:24

I would ring the police. At the very least they can look into accident reports. You can give them his reg number.
So sorry you are going through this.

Cantchooseaname · 07/06/2019 19:25

Sounds terrifying.
I guess the most likely explanation is that he is trying to get home, and phone is flat/ broken.
Really hope you get somebody news soon.

Nicecupofcoco · 07/06/2019 19:25

Hand hold for you. No advise but just to let you know we are here for you, and hope he gets in touch soon.

DoYouRememberTheInnMiranda · 07/06/2019 19:26

This is scary, but if he was well enough to tell work about the accident its more likely not the worst. Especially if the police, A&E etc don't have him. Try not to panic - easier said than done.

Sexnotgender · 07/06/2019 19:26

That’s weird! Can you call the non emergency police number and ask for advice? I know you’ve spoken to them already but I’d call them back.

StealthPolarBear · 07/06/2019 19:27

Agree you need to call the police. There's a chance he was concussed. So not an overreaction as it usually would be iyswim.
Any friends he might have popped into see?
