Trunk found in new house!

So we have found a trunk in the loft of our new house..

Its addressed to someone to a boys school that was open in the 1940-1960s.

I'm so intrigued, its bigger than the loft hatch so think we will need to cut it out of the hatch before plastering.

Ideas what to do with it? Use for decorative purposes? I've saw some turned into coffee tables! Or I may use it for toy storage, I love it!

Have you opened it? How did it get up there if it's too big for the hatch?

Slightly excited lol so didn't actually answer your question! I'd definitely use it for toy storage, or storage of other things.

Open it and take pictures!

I would clean it up and use as a coffee table/toy storage

@ClownsAndJokers havent opened it yet, we did try!

No idea I'm guessing many years ago the loft hatch was bigger, the house was extended in the early 90s and the hatch is in a tiny porch type hallway between kitchen and bathroom!

Very strange but I think I love it

@Karmin no the hatch is tiny, my DH only just fits through it! I could easily fit inside the actual trunk it is bigger than looks on photo!

Been unsuccessful opening this far hut OH will get it open!

The boys school was in Devon and we are in Bristol
