Trunk found in new house!

So we have found a trunk in the loft of our new house..

Its addressed to someone to a boys school that was open in the 1940-1960s.

I'm so intrigued, its bigger than the loft hatch so think we will need to cut it out of the hatch before plastering.

Ideas what to do with it? Use for decorative purposes? I've saw some turned into coffee tables! Or I may use it for toy storage, I love it!

You could trace the person it belonged to and return it to them. It might be full of their childhood memories and they might be so delighted to see it all again. like a happy ending, life through rose tinted specs

I think it was the very first prototype parcel delivered by a young fledgling mail-order company of that period by the name of Amazon.

Going on the very large size of the packing trunk that they felt the need to use, I'm guessing it contains a dozen teaspoons Grin

Nooooo I have to know what's inside! (We found a floor safe in our house after we moved in and I can't bear it that I can't open it. But I didn't tell you this because I promised my DH I wouldn't tell anyone about it)

It's the guy from BGT who never made it to the final last year, called X. He is hiding inside and it's a huge elaborate trick that has taken years of planning.

Ooh it looks like on Soola's link up thread the people that own the school house now are trying to organise a reunion, maybe they'll have heard from the boy it was addressed to? I like the idea of a happy ending and reuniting it with him.
