Trunk found in new house!

So we have found a trunk in the loft of our new house..

Its addressed to someone to a boys school that was open in the 1940-1960s.

I'm so intrigued, its bigger than the loft hatch so think we will need to cut it out of the hatch before plastering.

Ideas what to do with it? Use for decorative purposes? I've saw some turned into coffee tables! Or I may use it for toy storage, I love it!

It is often possible to pop a lock open with a screwdriver to avoid damaging it, it goes in the top of the flat bit, not in the part that clips into the hole if you see what I mean, it will spring the lock.

My son and I found a chest like that. We dragged it outside and left it in the lane.

It was 99% spiders and 1% dust. We wanted to hide and watch someone think it was treasure and open it but we went in for a cuppa and missed someone take it.
