British IS girl "wants to return to Britain"

themoomoo · 14/02/2019 07:26

Said she has no regrets;
Says she's seen severed heads in bins but it didn't faze her.
Says living with IS lived up to her expectations.
Now she wants to come home to Britain as she's 9 months pregnant.

Sounds an ideal member of any sane society

What a thoroughly depressing thread full of nasty comments. She was a child when she went. She's lost 2 babies and it's pregnant with another. Lovely comments here from a bunch of mums. Nice to see compassion. She was obviously groomed
And also joined a terrorist organisation. The authorities should deal with her appropriately.

IceRebel · 14/02/2019 09:04

She was a child when she went.

Technically, but it's not like she was 11 or 12, she was 15, almost an adult. Should the few months before she turned 16 make such a big difference?

billysboy · 14/02/2019 09:04

You have made your bed now lie in it !

She should not be allowed back , preganant or not

MillytantForceit · 14/02/2019 09:04

She seems to think that HMG will send a cab and an executive jet. UK minister on R4 this morning confirmed that no consular services are available in Syria.

She will either have to make her way to the embassy in Ankara unaided or with the help of someone willing.

6utter6ean · 14/02/2019 09:04

According to the defence minister she is in a Syrian refugee camp and as such will not have access to the British embassy. She will have to make her own way to somewhere where British staff can get to her. However, with such a high profile case she no doubt will be assisted by a charity in doing this.

Like others upthread I am torn on this. She is indeed a huge threat to British security, but she has a baby, who deserves care. And that baby, if it survives, will no doubt be perpetuating ISIS ideology if it is left in that environment.

Shouldershrugger · 14/02/2019 09:06

I dont think she should be allowed to come back. Im a british muslim and I wouldnt want to live next to a person such as herself. There's no remorse for her action, just a selfish attitude.

StealthPolarBear · 14/02/2019 09:07

QUEENIEINFRANCE groomed by who though? They went out to find someone to marry. Their parents (as far as is reported) weren't aware they were planning this. Do we know how this all started, what got these three British girls involved?
Sorry for caps, phone being odd.

Singlenotsingle · 14/02/2019 09:08

So don't know why the Daily Mail is being dragged into this. It's all over the morning TV news channels. Confused

I'd worry that the baby might grow up to be radicalised by its mother if she comes back.

StealthPolarBear · 14/02/2019 09:09

And I too am torn. She was a child. She has a baby who should come back and be fostered or adopted. But she's now a woman, she's unrepentant about the choices she made.
But my heart is breaking for her parents.

BartholinsSister · 14/02/2019 09:11

Maybe they're running out of people to behead over there.

53rdWay · 14/02/2019 09:15

We know they were speaking to Aqsa Mahmood at one point before going out SPB, and she’s been one of the biggest propagandists IS have for getting girls and women over there. Although even she seems to have been groomed into it initially, she was radicalised when she was at school.

Springwalk · 14/02/2019 09:18

My usual position is to bring these people home and work with them. However I heard what she said, the sheer indifference and value she puts on human life, she still clearly supports IS, and the expense of keeping the public safe from her ideology. I would be very concerned she will influence others.

She went out there to start a new life, and she has shown no remorse or comprehension of her actions (two children have already died because she is there) I think she should stay there. If as an example to others if nothing else.

I have zero sympathy. The head in the bin belonged to someone, he had a life and parents before he was savagely murdered and yet she didn’t seem to care.

She is really dangerous

gottagetbetter7 · 14/02/2019 09:19

No way should she be allowed back, her cocky arrogance is vile to listen to.

IJustLostTheGame · 14/02/2019 09:19

She's been brainwashed and it probably suffering from some sort of dissociative PTSD.
It would be better for her to come back, at least she can receive some form of anti brainwashing therapy.
She was only 15 when she went. She needs help.
I say love bomb her.

picklemepopcorn · 14/02/2019 09:22

I'm not sure many 19yr olds would admit to making such a huge mistake. It would undermine the basis of a third of her life. I was thinking of joining a convent as a teenager- teens get passionately involved in all sorts of causes.

I see her as a young woman who has in the past four (?) years been bombed, had her husband imprisoned, had three pregnancies, suffered the death of two children and a best friend. Seen violence. That's a lot of trauma.

I think she's effectively the victim of a cult and needs deprogramming. She now recognises that ISIS don't deserve to win, that they persecute torture and kill innocent people. She's halfway there.

What a shame for everyone.

placemats · 14/02/2019 09:22

She was 15 when she left, obviously still under the influence of the brainwashing she received. She was 'married' within weeks of arriving and had two children since deceased. Now heavily pregnant again at 19 Shamima wants the best for her and her child. Obvious case of 'Stockholm Syndrome with Shamima. Also, she needs debriefing and could possibly be of help in the future regarding brainwashing when things settle down for her.

I wish her all the best.

SomethingOnce · 14/02/2019 09:24

Calling this grooming doesn’t feel right.

With grooming, the reality is kept from victims until it’s too late; what ISIS were up to wasn’t exactly a well guarded secret.

And being a psychopath and being ‘groomed’ aren’t mutually exclusive.

SpanielEars070 · 14/02/2019 09:24

More like she's coming back to indoctrinate others.

Our system is a joke to allow it.

You made your bed love. Now lie in it.

MillytantForceit · 14/02/2019 09:24

Trouble is, she would become a protest magnet for Waxy-Lemon and his EDL chums as well as any Al Muhajeroon Loons.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 14/02/2019 09:25

Her interview is chilling, she’s fine with heads in bins. Her children have died. Now she wants the NHS to fund her.

No, massively security risk.

twattymctwatterson · 14/02/2019 09:25

She's a British citizen and should come back. She should face the consequences of her actions and her child should be cared for.

themoomoo · 14/02/2019 09:25

I say love bomb her
hahahahahahha

one of the funniest things I've read.
get her to stroke some fluffy kittens, that'll solve it all

teens get passionately involved in all sorts of causes.

Yeah, I did. I never found violence appealing though.

StrangeLookingParasite · 14/02/2019 09:26

I dont think she should be allowed to come back. Im a british muslim and I wouldnt want to live next to a person such as herself.

Yes, and look at the shite she helps bring down on her co-religionists (though a reeally diffferent version of Islam)

Butterymuffin · 14/02/2019 09:26

I have more sympathy for 'ordinary' Syrian refugees who had no choice about being stuck in the middle of a war zone. She did.
