What do you remember watching on a Sunday as a kid?

Daughter and I have had our bath and I just had a flash of memory back to the days of watching Bullseye, songs of praise and Howard's way on a Sunday nights.

I even went on YouTube to put a bit of Bully on.. what is it with 6yr olds that don't appreciate old TV?

Ski Sunday!! For some reason my dad always insisted on it even though he’s never actually been skiing!

DragonMamma · 03/02/2019 17:28

Always Songs of Praise, Antiques Roadshow and a bit of Bully.

Mid week I’d always have to go to bed after The Bill has finished. I used to dread seeing that coppers shoes going down the cobblestones

rainflowerstar · 03/02/2019 17:28

Heartbeat on a Sunday night and gummybears in the morning lol.

Hotterthanahotthing · 03/02/2019 17:31

Poldark.

keiratwiceknightly · 03/02/2019 17:33

BBC adaptations of classic books. Vanity fair, some Dickens, Jane Eyre. And the wonderful versions of the Narnia stories.

halfwitpicker · 03/02/2019 17:34

I remember bullseye.

Hated antiques roadshow, so depressing

Aprilshowersarecomingsoon · 03/02/2019 17:35

But I've now got the theme tune of Ski Sunday stuck in my head after reading the op! :)

Mari50 · 03/02/2019 17:36

The muppet show (I always taste beef gravy when I hear the theme tune) and glen michaels cartoon cavalcade

CountessVonBoobs · 03/02/2019 17:37

Sharky & George.

Drogosnextwife · 03/02/2019 17:38

Heartbeat and last of the summer wine. Well it was my mum watching them, I would have been really young. She still watches heartbeat!

snoogans · 03/02/2019 17:39

My mum owned an antique shop when I was a kid so we always had to watch the antiques roadshow and Lovejoy on Sundays.

ScoobyCan · 03/02/2019 17:39

Always Ski Sunday. And snooker if it was on. Always with DF. It meant I got out of clearing up Sunday dinner - I would insist my DF needed company and scuttle off to snuggle up with him on the sofa whilst the females of the family did all the washing up.

I always was a daddy's girl. Sad

MrsBertBibby · 03/02/2019 17:39

StealthPolarBear · 03/02/2019 17:40

Oh yes and heartbeat. I still have the pyre image in my mind :(

Thunderpunt · 03/02/2019 17:41

Howard's Way....that music I can still hear now. And as a teenager I had a guilty crush in the smarmy bald bloke Blush
Also - years before it used to be The Muppets, Fraggle Rock And also some kids drama about a Phoenix and the Fire...? (Or did I dream that one up)

Thisimmortalcurl · 03/02/2019 17:41

The Walton’s, Little house on the prairie and Bread .. I loved Bread .

WeeTinkerMonkey · 03/02/2019 17:43

Why can I now hear Ski Sunday starting?

I can also remember Heartbeat and Lovejoy.

So many classic shows, kids these days just don't get such quality on Netflix...

I'm sure Skippy the Bush Kangaroo was on a Sunday teatime - also Batman?

Thunderpunt · 03/02/2019 17:44

April showers yes to Worzel Gummidge! What a great programmer but seriously can you imagine the uproar today if a kids character unscrewed his head!! The long term MH damage that could do to our snowflakes GrinGrinWink

pineapplepassion · 03/02/2019 17:45

The Walton's
Happy Days
Occasionally the motor racing when my Dad took over the only TV in the house and we had to pull the curtains if it was a sunny day so the screen wasn't obstructed.

Rockbird · 03/02/2019 17:46

Ski Sunday which I loved and Bullseye which I bloody hated!
