What do you remember watching on a Sunday as a kid?

Daughter and I have had our bath and I just had a flash of memory back to the days of watching Bullseye, songs of praise and Howard's way on a Sunday nights.

I even went on YouTube to put a bit of Bully on.. what is it with 6yr olds that don't appreciate old TV?

OP posts:

Robin Hood, Songs of Praise and (I think) Crossroads.

Gingerkittykat · 03/02/2019 17:46

The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie and Ramona (American series about some kid) in the morning.

Last of The Summer wine at night because it was my mum's favourite.

@Mari50 Glen Michaels cavalcade with Paladin the talking lamp was pure class!

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 03/02/2019 17:48

That's Life, and then when Howard's Way came on we had to go to bed.

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 03/02/2019 17:49

Points of View.
And That’s Life.

DareDevil223 · 03/02/2019 17:49

Mastermind. Even now the Mastermind theme music fills me with 'going back to school' dread and I'm 51 and love my job Smile

I also remember When the Boat Comes In, Songs of Praise, the Muppet Show. I think the Onedin Line was a Sunday night?

From the 1980s we used to watch stuff like The Beiderbeck Affair and Howard's Way.

rainflowerstar · 03/02/2019 17:49

Last of the summer wine with my dad. Thinking back we both used to howl with laughter so it did its job! Sometimes I put it on now just to think back to then...

Rosa · 03/02/2019 17:51

Poldark , the Onedin Line and of course Ski Sunday with Davide Vine ....

DareDevil223 · 03/02/2019 17:52

How could I forget That's Life? I loved it! My nan hated Cyril Fletcher and would always say 'horrible man, lavatorial sense of humour' in her grandest tones when he came on the telly Grin

CaurnieBred · 03/02/2019 17:52

DareDevil223 · 03/02/2019 17:56

@StealthPolarBear

Originally Saturday, then moved to Sunday, then back to Saturday right at the end.

Artesia · 03/02/2019 17:57

TokyoSushi · 03/02/2019 17:59

Antiques roadshow
Last of the summer wine
Howards Way

StealthPolarBear · 03/02/2019 17:59

Ah thank you. I don't know if I'm old or young then :)
Who did Nicholas Lyndhurst play in Anne of Green gables?

NancyJoan · 03/02/2019 17:59

The Waltons before lunch. And Super Gran used to be in in the afternoon. I hated that programme, but when it ended it was time to go back to boarding school so I felt compelled to watch. I used to feel sick all the way through.

DorothyZbornak · 03/02/2019 17:59

@carben, OMG, look at Rodney! That hair! Grin

TokyoSushi · 03/02/2019 18:00

Oh yes, Bread!
The Waltons & Little House on the Prairie

Mumtothelittlefella · 03/02/2019 18:01

The Waltons, Black Beauty and The muppets (after bath time, during weekly nit inspection). TV was ace back then.

Coniferhedge · 03/02/2019 18:01

I remember That’s Life! on Sundaynights. Used to hate it when Esther Rantzen said ‘goodnight’ and the closing theme tune started. That meant it was time for bed and school in the morning.

HelmutFrontbut · 03/02/2019 18:02

Holiday with Cliff Michelmore! Grin
