I am watching Clue for the first time. Tim curry is amazing in it. Its made me proper laugh out loud a couple of times.
What other old films have been forgotten that I might enjoy? I need some light watching :-)

I'm not a Zombie fan usually but I've just watched Train to Busan. Bloody fantastic. Exciting and such interesting themes. Korean with subtitles but please don't let that put you off or you'll miss a gem.
On the other hand also just seen The Favourite. Oh dear!

Night at the roxbury

Watched thatone night,we where all awaiting Jim Carrey to make an appearence in it.No hes not in it.What a waste. And its a shite film

AmazingBouncingFerret · 25/01/2019 10:35

Pleasantville.

DappledThings · 25/01/2019 10:48

I wouldn't call Grosse Point Blank an unappreciated film, though - loads of people love it

Quite possibly. But it's surely not as big as Bridesmaids and Hot Fuzz which have also been mentioned here. I'd say both of those are miles away from unappreciated.

RiverTam · 25/01/2019 10:50

well, yes, that's true too.

EscapeTheCastle · 25/01/2019 10:51

My fav hidden away on Netflix, maybe not under rated as such but maybe not raved about "Crazy Stupid Love"

Also hidden on Netlix and very scary, be warned. "February"

Due a rewatch because it's so much fun, "The Mummy" also on Netflix at the mo.

DappledThings · 25/01/2019 10:55

One really random one is a Czech film called Kolya that my mum and I watched many years ago. It's about a man forced to temporarily look after a 5 year old boy and is beautifully done. We ended up watching it loads over the years.

No idea if it's on any streaming sites though. We have the video I think!

oldwhyno · 25/01/2019 10:56

Dude Where's My Car

EscapeTheCastle · 25/01/2019 10:58

I'm reading "unappreciated" as worth a rewatch, maybe forgotten and needs to be remembered again!

In the media it's always about what's new and what's up for an Oscar when all along there's loads of films out there that loads of people haven't seen and they will be 100x better than what wins the Bafta or whatever.

Fantail2018 · 25/01/2019 10:59

Just rewatched Drop Dead Gorgeous this evening with DH. I think we first saw it when it came out on video nearly 20 years ago.

Also second Ghost Ship - great acting and amazing opening and closing scenes. Have rewatched a number of times.

DappledThings · 25/01/2019 11:10

Ghost Ship and Drop.Dead Gorgeous are both great. Last one from me, my ultimate curl up on the sofa for comfort film is Center Stage. Including such gems of lines as "Whatever you're feeling just dance it" and "You're a great dancer and an amazing choreographer. But as a boyfriend you kinda suck"

EscapeTheCastle · 25/01/2019 11:30

I've never seen Ghost ship so I'm going to get it 2nd hand on dvd! Love a ghost horror movie. Thanks chaps.

Raspberry88 · 25/01/2019 12:01

Ooh, yes I also loved Clue and Gross Point Blank is DHs favourite film. My actual favourite film of all time is Fly Away Home. As a family film about geese it's not really my thing at all but I just love it, it's just beautiful and it's makes me 'proper cry!'

AlpacaPicnic · 25/01/2019 12:10

Benny and Joon, which makes me cry and laugh every time I watch it.
And Burlesque. It's utter nonsense but it's such good fun!

BartonHollow · 25/01/2019 12:19

Oh as well the film Waitress such a great film

xWallToWallBastardsx · 25/01/2019 12:55

Yes Benny and Joon. Also What's eating Gilbert Grape? Johnny Depp was amazing. Not anymore.

RiverTam · 25/01/2019 13:04

Yeah, Johnny Depp Hmm. He's ruined Fantastic Beasts for me.

littlemisscomper · 25/01/2019 15:06

I thought 'The Love Punch' was brilliant! And I'm very fussy about films. Nobody else I know has ever heard of it and it's generally badly rated but I think definitely worth watching.

haverhill · 25/01/2019 15:09

About Adam with Kate Hudson. I went to a preview screening and the audience loved it, but it seemed to disappear.

captainpantbeard · 25/01/2019 15:09

Big Business.

Vitalogy · 25/01/2019 15:14

Crinklesmile · 25/01/2019 15:15

RolandDeschainsGilly · 25/01/2019 15:16

haverhill · 25/01/2019 15:21
