For anyone who's staying in on NYE... shall we make our own party?

There was a thread last year with a virtual NYE party and I can't see one at the moment so I thought I'd start one. I am bringing Matchmakers (mint) and shed loads of Heroes. Who else?

I always feel emotional NYE remembering the parties I used to go to in the early 80s as a kid eating sausage rolls under the table at a house party while the adults got sloshed!
Or late 80s /early 90s sneaking bottles of lager, cinzano etc to the sub-party of us 14-16 year olds at the house party Smile

Ooh can I come? I've actually never been out for New Year's Eve!

Another pregnant one here so won't be able to get pissed like last year. Horribly nauseous too. Yuck!

Frogletmamma · 31/12/2018 17:01

I have popcorn spring rolls prosecco and yet more cheese.

ScreamingValenta I read that as hoovering in the doorway and wondered if this was a NYE tradition I have been missing.

Danglyspider · 31/12/2018 17:02

ooh Froglet - I have popcorn too - although it's peanut butter and almond, and DS has already pinched half of it while I was away for a couple of days, which I was quite disgruntled to discover on my return.

Crownandheelshigh · 31/12/2018 17:04

I'm in but allergic (anaphylactic) to chicken, nuts and peas!

Going to have a glass of wine when little mans in bed!

Grace212 · 31/12/2018 17:04

for the first time in years, I'm not out celebrating...but staying in with elderly mother, dad died 2 months ago, so mum will just go to bed at her normal time and pretend nothing's happening.

I might be awake at midnight but not sure...

can bring strawberry and clotted cream cake!

I've had a year of two halves, first half fab, second half not so. Hopefully 2019 will be nice all the way....!

NoIAmSpartacus · 31/12/2018 17:05

Can I come? I present to you... reduced 50p m+s mince pies, a reduced caramelised onion tart, hummus and breadsticks!

Blackladybug · 31/12/2018 17:05

I'm ill so my NYE plans were cancelled. Therefore I shall join in here instead, I have: prossecco, Maltesers truffles, celebrations, chocolate gatteux, cheese and crackers and a tear and share cinnamon bun. All of which I can't eat. Feeling a bit crap about being ill but really looking forward to 2019.

Grace212 · 31/12/2018 17:07

yay for cinnamon buns (not a euphemism)

SureIusedtobetaller · 31/12/2018 17:08

Staying in to be taxi. Plus the dog hates fireworks so we can’t leave him on NYE.
I have crisps, dips and choccy raisins. Please don’t double dip yer crisps that’s all I ask.

singleascheeseslice · 31/12/2018 17:08

It's looking like I'll be home alone, so why not! I have sherry on ice, cheese and bacon loaded potato shells in the oven and a persian kitten in heat. (Twas not expecting it this early). Hoping there are no boy cats in here Xmas Grin

brizzledrizzle · 31/12/2018 17:09

yummy cinnamon buns. Last time I had those was when I bought a box of 10 at an American airport and ate them all on the plane home when it was delayed.

I'm a greedy pig

ScreamingValenta · 31/12/2018 17:10

Bunnybigears Hopefully no one will spill the Pringles so the hoover can stay safely in the cupboard!

ManchesterMum63 · 31/12/2018 17:14

I've got loooads of cheese - can I stay scruffy? And don't want to buzzkill but might glance @ Les Mis for a while...

ManchesterMum63 · 31/12/2018 17:15

Hope no-ones allergic to cats - we've got 4 - they love a snuggle tho🥰

mmmgoats · 31/12/2018 17:17

Ooh I started my own thread earlier on how happy I am not to have plans so may dip in here later on!

Grace212 · 31/12/2018 17:18

I love cats but don't have any, so am very glad people have cats!!

gosh, I sound madder with every post....

ScreamingValenta · 31/12/2018 17:18

I love cats! Can I get in line for a snuggle with yours, ManchesterMum?

BirthdayKake · 31/12/2018 17:19

We've brought the guinea pigs in. Two perfectly healthy ones died at Christmas when out of nowhere, our next door neighbour set off fireworks. Even I shit myself (and may have run out in my bare feet so bollock him Blush) so seriously starting to wonder if the poor pigs died of fright :(

YahBasic · 31/12/2018 17:20

We’re in, got films on, snuggly blanket and two cuddly cats.

Have got two bottles of Verve Cliquot, DH is making homemade pizzas, loads of crisps, sausage rolls, M&S party food and a Yule log!

brizzledrizzle · 31/12/2018 17:23

Poor little things, they are quite prone to fright. We have guinea pigs in the lounge, they tend to sleep through most things like teenagers

weegiemum · 31/12/2018 17:23

The dog has sat down on my packet of cheese and onion kettle chips and gone to sleep!

Woke up when I took his photo!

concretesieve · 31/12/2018 17:27

May I join? I have mixed nuts with rosemary and sea salt, blue stilton and oatcakes, stollen bites and sloe gin.

greyspottedgoose · 31/12/2018 17:27

First year in about 12 not going out, it's my first one separated from my husband who is off out enjoying himself.

Il do an early countdown for the kids then probably go to bed myself 🙈
