I have bought the beautiful notebook.
I have fineliners
I have searched Pinterest.

I have many ideas for things I want to track etc but

I am scared to start.

I am not artistic.
It is the most expensive notebook I have ever bought and I really don't want to spoil it Blush

Look for bujo printables.

It might blow your tiny minds...😎

MinorProphet · 09/01/2019 18:25

I am all over it. Etsy is a treasure trove when I search for A5 printed as well (am v lazy)

lotusbell · 09/01/2019 21:01

As predicted, I'm struggling to find the time to even get mine going, drawing all my calendars and monthly spreads etc. I'm sure it'll be worth it once I've had time to invest time in setting it up... Grin

IntentsAndPorpoises · 10/01/2019 18:37

I'm reading the book and got to bit where you list what you are currently working on, what you should be working on and what you want to be working on.

My lists aren't very long and my want list includes sleep! But I feel overwhelmed by information all the time! I did group 'housework' as one thing.

Also nothing to cross off. Everything is already either vital or it matters!

radioactiveimagination · 10/01/2019 21:44

AllGoodDogs, thanks for the pen suggestions! So I've downloaded the book, I've watched some YouTube vids, I've got the notebook and some pens, now just need to find time to start my journal! It's a bit daunting. Plus I've got a bit sidetracked with hand lettering which I've just discovered and love, so now I need a new notebook for that! I just wish there was more time in the day.

Knittink · 11/01/2019 07:46

But I feel overwhelmed by information all the time!
That's the thing that Bujo helped me most with. Getting info out of my head and onto paper genuinely made my head so much clearer.

I'm not loving my Hobonichi notebook. I coveted it so much and it was so expensive, but almost before I even started writing in it I was beginning to suspect it wasn't going to be as good as a normal Bujo for me. Sad

PenelopeFlintstone · 11/01/2019 21:39

Why, Knittink? What don't you like about it?

SexNotJenga · 11/01/2019 22:31

Re: the Ryder Carroll book. Is it full of pictures? I'm wondering whether I could get away with listening to the audiobook.

Knittink · 11/01/2019 22:44

Penelope - the book itself and the paper are beautiful. There's lots of space (almost too much) but I'm finding the different sections (a year's worth of weeklies, then a year's full page dailies) hard to adapt to and I can't seem to create layouts I like.

Inkspellme · 13/01/2019 08:52

The Ryder Carroll book isn’t full of pictures - there are some but the explanations don’t refer to them. They seem to be just a bit of decor. I would imagine the audio book would be fine.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 13/01/2019 13:01

I got the Ryder Carroll book for 99p on kindle yesterday. Not sure how long the offer is on.

Haven't looked at it yet so can't comment on the content.

SexNotJenga · 13/01/2019 13:17

Thank you inkspellme Smile

HalloumiGus · 13/01/2019 13:39

That's a good deal on the RC book! I paid 2.99 last week. I bought a stencil and stamper markers yesterday. Unimpressed with the stencil to be honest. Think the boxes are too small.

OneMoreForExtra · 13/01/2019 17:35

Anyone got any ProJo tips?

BuJo Tease here - don't really qualify for full Wanker status, but do bits sporadically and like it when I do it. My problem is my main stuff is work-related but I also tend to write down long notes in meetings so the BuJo elements are cluttered up with pages of minutes. These are just to make myself register the discussion, not part of my duties, and I want to move to a better organised and integrated approach. I've noted the suggestion of a double page spread per direct report upthread - thank you - any more please?

Anyone so any

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 13/01/2019 20:51

Do you all use a4 or a5? I got an a5 filofax notebook with replaceable pages and I started planning out some pages and I'm not sure I'll get much on them.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 14/01/2019 17:49

I've got an A5 because DN made it for me and because anything smaller is too small for me.

I bought RC's bullet journal book for audible yesterday - it comes with a pdf file. He says he's got an ADHD diagnosis?!

MinorProphet · 14/01/2019 18:15

I also use A5. I have week to view AND day to view in there.

BessMarvin · 16/01/2019 09:10

I love lists and organising and stationery, so I'm definitely going to give this a go. Just trying to decide about notebook vs filofax. And what pens to buy!

What is the system that I think is similar to this but I think the idea is you print or buy lots of inserts to put in a lovely reusable notebook?

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 16/01/2019 22:13

@BessMarvin
Midori or a rebuild of this type?

sackrifice · 17/01/2019 07:42

I also tend to write down long notes in meetings so the BuJo elements are cluttered up with pages of minutes

I would suggest that if you take pages of minutes, you just incorporate that as part of your BuJo. So it isn't cluttered, it is part of your system.

BessMarvin · 17/01/2019 08:00

I hadn't heard of midori but googling it did bring up traveler's notebook which I think is what I was thinking of.
Thanks!

ILoveChristmasLights · 17/01/2019 11:02

I think I would love the A5 Hobonichi, I think it’s 90% perfect. Except it’s not good with gel pens and .38 Muji Gel pens are all I use as I love them and there don’t appear to be any/many ‘note’ pages. I’d give it a go but £72 😳 it’s a lot for a journal book even if I love it and if I don’t get on with it’s a huge amount of money wasted in a notebook. Because of the incredibly fine paper it’s still lightweight despite have a day to a page, and both weekly & monthly planners.

I wish there was a retailer where I could go and have a feel of one and the unusual paper. Unfortunately a trip to Japan is even more expensive 😖

Hohocabbage · 17/01/2019 22:31

£72!! I thought my leuchtturm was dear at less than 20!

Hohocabbage · 18/01/2019 10:03

...though I suppose I’d pay that for a pair of boots which I wouldn’t use every day, unlike the bujo

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 18/01/2019 12:30

On my way from work I have to cross the stationery department of a large store. I pass directly between a wall displaying all kinds of Lechturm and paperblanc notebooks and the filofax and insert stalls. I often get delayed there.
