I have bought the beautiful notebook.
I have fineliners
I have searched Pinterest.

I have many ideas for things I want to track etc but

I am scared to start.

I am not artistic.
It is the most expensive notebook I have ever bought and I really don't want to spoil it Blush

Knittink I think you've nailed it with that post!

Knittink · 04/01/2019 15:33

Oh good! Glad it made sense.

I'm currently setting up work stuff in my new bujo. I had started using a separate planner for that (I'm a teacher), but I really prefer everything in the same place, so am going back to using my bujo for everything. I teach 3 languages to 15 different classes in 7 different locations, so planning and scheduling is a bit complicated. Grin That's why my bullet journal is a godsend!

MinorProphet · 04/01/2019 17:06

I am getting quite excited about doing a bujo lite in a filofax. I refuse to spend my time writing out the days of the month when I can get printed pages for that. But I do want to get away from using my phone so much - I will still use the online calendars and to do lists but plan to use the paper version for 'what is actually happening tomorrow' .

Have a nice calligraphy pen.

1ham the kids shoe sizes is genius!! I am forever texting their dad whilst in the shop getting him to check their shoes in the cupboard. Cant believe I didn't think of that 😂

Mines arrived today, I did a sneaky 2019 page while they were eating dinner, will plan some more for when they're in bed.

I've not been artsy since high school so it was really lovely making it nice (well, by my standards). Can't swear this will continue as it took forever but I'll do it the weeks I can be bothered.

HedwigsNest · 04/01/2019 19:33

Two questions - what do you do with the washi tape and stickers in a BJ? Are they just decorative or do they serve a purpose?

Actually it's 3 questions - what is BJ stencil (and what do you do with it?)

SoupDragon · 04/01/2019 19:42

I think they're mostly decorative but you can use them to draw attention or differentiate something I guess.

The stencils I've seen onAmazon just let you draw arrows, boxes and swirly bits etc with no artistic skill.

SoupDragon · 04/01/2019 19:44

I think the arty stuff is great if you love doing that sort of thing and have no other reason to do it. It gives your arty self a purpose.

1hamwich4 · 04/01/2019 20:45

Heheh Knittink I'm a teacher too!

I'm not using it for planning though as I've got absolutely everything in google calendar, which, along with a mini whiteboard next to my screen, keeps everything work-related in my classroom. I'd recommend it- it's really good for setting up reminders (homework due, Joe didn't have his book again, that sort of thing). I don't want work outside of work. But my bullet journal is going to sit on my desk so I can jot down home things whenever they occur to me and I can deal with them later.

MinorProphet · 04/01/2019 21:34

I have found a community of filofax planner devotees on Instagram, they make very pretty planners. Zillions of printable etc. Aaaaaah.

HumourlessFeminist · 04/01/2019 22:06

I'd love to join that MinorProphet, can you share?

coragreta · 04/01/2019 22:16

I've just got started. I love that it gives me something else to do than be sat on my phone (I say whilst typing on my phone). But I doubt I'll have time to do the levels that some do on insta/Pinterest.

MinorProphet · 05/01/2019 08:29

I just searched for #filofax and so much came up. #filofaxa5 and #teamfilofax seem to be good for me :)

HundredMileStare · 05/01/2019 09:58

Heres my pages so far, this is about as arty as I can get. Goals number 1 is learn better handwriting 😂

I got a dotted journal but I am loving the filofax system with the dotted inserts- I think it would be good to add and remove pages or rearrange as required. I won't start all over again but definitely thinking about that for when this book runs out.

Thanks MinorProphet. I think the Filofax fudge is going to really suit me actually. I've bought some cardboard dividers and a zipped pocket, and I'm starting to see how this will be really useful 🙂. Have you bought a hole punch for it? The reviews for both the cheap ones and the £ ones are pretty bad 😄. I've just printed onto pre-punched whole paper so far.

MinorProphet · 05/01/2019 12:59

I think the filofax own punch is meant to be okay? I will get one at some point. But if you look on Etsy there are squillions of pre printed and pre punched pretty pages. I think Crossbow Printables is nice, for instance.

LumpySpacedPrincess · 05/01/2019 15:04

I'm reading the book by Ryder Carrol and it's really interesting, worth getting.

EvenFlo2 · 05/01/2019 18:17

I bought a leuchtturn, really disappointed as you can see through all of the pages :-(

StoorieHoose · 05/01/2019 18:25

I think I have a Rexel Filofax punch - it does personal and pocket and I watched a video on how to set it up for a5 too ( yes I have many different sizes of Filofax)

Hohocabbage · 05/01/2019 18:29

Knittink I spotted your name on another thread I was reading and wondered if you still remember the name of a book you read about habits/making better habits? Think I need it! Thanks!

Coffeecoffeebuzzbuzzbuzz · 05/01/2019 19:46

Evenflo2 I have a leuchtturm and although the paper seems thin I haven’t had any issues with ink bleeding through so hopefully you will find the same?

MinorProphet · 05/01/2019 20:27

I found a 6 hole punch on amazon that gets v g reviews. here

Efferlunt · 05/01/2019 20:29

This is my weekly spread which isn’t too much effort to do. Days one side and on the other I have my priorities grid for tasks - important and urgent/ urgent not important etc, a tracker for children’s homework tasks / music practice and a meal plan.

Reporting for duty! I was on the old bujo wankers threads but got out of the habit. I now have a shiny Leuchtturm 1917 that I need to start. Going to keep it very minimalist.

Knittink · 05/01/2019 22:14

Hohocabbage - Atomic Habits by James clear - I think that's the one.

Happyinheels · 05/01/2019 23:06

So. I've taken the plunge! Never done this before! So, my first ever bullet journal page:

Little gutted at the smudges, clearly not using the right kinds of pens?!
