...an embarrassingly expensive candle.

Has anyone else bought themselves something unjustifiably extravagant to make me feel less shame filled?

Yh the woodwick ones crackle, it's annoying!

brizzledrizzle · 22/12/2018 13:14

Oh don't tell me that, I've treated myself now. Still, with the noise my son makes when playing Fortnite I doubt I'll notice it.

DBro has sent me a recipe from a cafe place that he goes it, I feel another treat coming on.

I impulse-bought a Barbour a couple of weeks ago. It was 20% off though!

chocoholicanon · 22/12/2018 13:20

Oh gosh I’ve found my people, I’ve bought myself a pair of Dr Marten boots, Cornishware tableware and a Fossil handbag this Christmas on impulse. My reasoning is that I’m single and our family has a £10 limit on gifts so if I don’t buy it for me no one else will. Best Christmas gifts I’ve ever received

Youmadorwhat · 22/12/2018 13:23

850 for two nights in a spa hotel!! 🤣🤣

sparklepops123 · 22/12/2018 13:27

In all honesty drizzle the one I burnt was a Asda copy, I'm too tight to burn my woodwick ones 😂 they might be a posher crackle !

brizzledrizzle · 22/12/2018 13:28

Grin I only bought it because it was half price. I'm not sure mine will get burnt either.

scrivette · 22/12/2018 13:33

What an enjoyable thread.

I bought myself a beautiful Smythson clutch bag to keep in my huge everyday bag. I love it and it will last forever!

cheesenpickles · 22/12/2018 13:59

I'm toying between spending my Christmas money either on a pair of black leather boots or a leather jacket. Have a sneaking suspicion that my DH may have already bought the boots for me though, so will wait till Xmas day to decide. Grin

Avegemitesandwich · 22/12/2018 14:40

That Cire Trudon website is everything I would have hoped for. Definitely can't wait to see the Aldi dupe 😂

Frogletmamma · 22/12/2018 14:41

A turbot

Wenchelda · 22/12/2018 14:47

Love this thread. I don't often buy myself nice things and anytime I do spend money on myself, I feel incredibly guilty about it for ages. This thread is inspiring!

MissLadyM · 22/12/2018 14:48

I've just bought a Tom Ford AND Cire Trudon candles! No regrets!

HundredMilesAnHour · 22/12/2018 17:46

My not buying anything for at least another few months went a bit pear-shaped this afternoon. Blame my cousin for wanting to meet for lunch in Hatton Garden!
I came home with these beautiful watermelon tourmaline earrings that are handmade and a one-off - by a friend's super-talented husband. Oops!

On a more positive note, I will stuck in the car for a good 7+ hours tomorrow and even I can't spend money at motorway service stations. Wink

I’ve just bought myself.....
IrisApfelRocks · 22/12/2018 18:17

@HundredMilesAnHour those earrings are beautiful

OldGrinch · 22/12/2018 19:37

Right thanks to you lot I haven't been able to resist ordering myself one of those Woodford Crackling Candles, I want to see what I have been missing! Ordered from Boots they are doing money off them at mo

OldGrinch · 22/12/2018 19:39

Woodwick I mean Grin

GrumpyOldMare · 22/12/2018 19:43

there is nothing unreasonable about a new Kindle. Ever.

^^This
(only because I'm getting a new (to me) one from my son for christmas)

I've spent £125 (eeeek!) on a basic bridge camera for myself for christmas. So excited now. Two nice presents to open.

BollockingBaubles · 22/12/2018 21:03

The complete Dyson Airwrap set.

I absolutely love it and will do for many years to come but still feel like I have to justify why I bought it when a family member asked how much it was.

bumblebee39 · 22/12/2018 21:27

Hair curling thing
Very expensive lady shaver 🙈
3 real magazines (though one is the RT double issue so mandatory)
Box of posh crackers and lots of cheese nobody else eats
4 real print books
A happiness journal
A new vibrator

I'm single, pregnant and miserable so I'm not sorry though I can't really afford a candle let alone all of that

In my defence almost everything was on a good offer but... Eek!
Kept telling myself the books are for gifts but I can't bare to give them away without reading them first

heather1 · 22/12/2018 21:32

Today I went to the beauticians and had a massage, mani pedi and eyelash’s permed. Totally self indulgent. It’s fine. It’s Christmas and my present to my self

bumblebee39 · 22/12/2018 21:34

My happy NYE gifts (to myself) will be a mani and Pedi, a new phone and some new trainers (hopefully the last ones in the January sale)

I'm not sorry
Nobody else spoils me so I'm going to spoil myself
On a regular basis whenever I can afford it for the rest of my life 😊🙌🏽

Galwaygirl · 22/12/2018 21:40

Are the cire trudon candles.worth.the money?

Cakemonger · 22/12/2018 21:40

An expensive fake tan for my face because I'm tired of looking pasty and ill

Frequent book purchases

A birchbox subscription

I need a new Kindle because the screen on mine has a scratch on it, but not sure I can stretch to it at the moment...

Great thread.

Cakemonger · 22/12/2018 21:42

Those who've bought the Dyson Airwrap, I'm intrigued. What makes it better than other curlers?
