'Every time I go to the doctor, I worry they won’t understand my complex health issues. I worry about everything to do with my health and sometimes something little feels much bigger than it really is. You need help'

Totally agree schuyler. It's good that you have the insight to recognise and then manage the mental health impact Flowers.

PortiaCastis · 07/01/2019 14:22

As someone who sat with their child on a spinal ward (only ITU for 5days) for months I get a bit pissed off with embellishers because I know what goes on and observed many children who were in back braces struggling.
Yes you do need help seafour

2018SoFarSoGreat · 07/01/2019 15:47

I joined this thread to support a woman in need. That has not changed. I would do the same for those of you now taking over the thread, if you need it. Ffs we need to be kinder to each other. How does it help to tear each other apart?

Cuntcuntcunt · 07/01/2019 15:48

Doesn't that apply to Seafour as well?

welcometonarnia · 07/01/2019 15:58

2018 so are you comfortable with the way Seafour has described her temporary carer? What if the carer was your friend/mum/sister?

yawning801 · 07/01/2019 16:19

I'm fairly sure the buslings haven't been on here because they know that whatever they say, the people who seem determined to almost attack Seafour will inevitably pounce on it and twist it in a desperate effort to catch us out. Personally I think that the sheer volume of people who have suddenly flooded in here to target Sea is enough to make even the hardiest person feel like shit, and combined with the fact that one person in particular is so dedicated to this thread that they have actually scrolled all the way back and read all the messages, just to find more little ways to pick on Sea, makes me think that some of them are simply bored and need to start socialising with more people than Alexa.

Anyhow, I've said my bit, and I'm sure you will all start on me now. But I've listened to your opinions for the last six or seven pages, so now you can listen to mine. Over and out Smile

KatesMott · 07/01/2019 16:56

I can assure you I’m not bored yawning801- I’ve been dipping in and out of Seafours threads for some time feeling more and more concerned and incredulous as they took both fantasticical and quite nasty turns. The last straw for me, and seemingly others, was the flippancy around the skin cancer scarring which even Seafour admitted to ‘over dramatising’.

Seafour has decided to put all of this information on a public forum and alongside the initial adoration she seemingly secured it is inevitable that some scrutiny would follow, particularly when she became so critical of aspects of her care to the point where individuals could potentially be identified.

I don’t want to twist anything or catch anyone out, thiss doesn’t need to be an ‘us’ against ‘them’ scenario - whilst initially angry with the way in which things were progressing I’m happy to take stock and think that OP does genuinely need help and support but away from this forum.

ChanelPlease · 07/01/2019 17:08

'the people who seem determined to almost attack Seafour will inevitably pounce on it'

Yawning earlier on in the thread I suggested the op try to manage her expectations more when she was complaining her 'yellow bellied' gp hadn't carried out a home visit for her post op pyreixia, just a 'nurse prescriber'. The op was very critical that this experienced nurse didn't know her full medical history. Gps don't do house calls for temperatures and nurses are more than able to read care plans before assessing the patient.

The op has completely unrealistic expectations and as has been said repeatedly identifying herself then slating many hcps is totally unacceptable and possibly libellous.

I haven't seen anyone 'almost attacking' the op just pointing out her over dramatisations aren't going to help her mental health. She really needs to try to address that.

PortiaCastis · 07/01/2019 17:08

I'm not bored either, nor do I have alexa nor am I gullible. I think the OP is ill but I also think she needs a bit of help and needs to be careful what she makes public about hcps or she'll be facing a case for defamation, as folk have already posted the OP has made herself identifiable so should take care

LuckyLou7 · 07/01/2019 17:10

The problem is, when someone admits to over-dramatising one aspect of their ill-health, it calls into question all the other aspects. If the skin cancer lesion wasn't an open wound the size of a hand, causing a terrible facial deformity, then perhaps we need to take everything else with a pinch of salt. I personally have no doubt the OP is significantly unwell, and needs emotional support.

What I haven't liked is the constant and unrelenting criticism of healthcare professionals and in particular, the unpleasant comments regarding the physical appearance of the new support worker. As others have said, anonymous criticism is fine, it can really help to vent. However, when those HCPs can recognise themselves due to the photograph posted, and the dates of the particular posts, that's when it becomes messy.

Cuntcuntcunt · 07/01/2019 17:24

I have no doubt Seafour is significantly unwell.

She still has to be mindful of what she posts here. Those HCPs from the pharmacist she roasted, to the dipshit doctor she wished had a red hot poker up his arse sideways, to the yellow bellied gp and the fat carer, and all the un-named but easily identifiable hcps who have been slated, they shouldn't be slated like this on a public forum - it is unwise of Seafour to do this.

I'm neither bored nor gullible nor do I have Alexa Hmm

Vulture feast

Well, vultures do feed on garbage, don't they...

yawning801 · 07/01/2019 17:47

Well, vultures do feed on garbage, don't they...

Good idea, crack out the passive aggressive insults! And here is an example of what I meant by "almost attacking" Seafour.

KatesMott · 07/01/2019 17:55

@yawning801 it was in response to being called a vulture by a PP though, I don’t think thats acceptable either but it seems you want to disparage posts you see as ‘agsinst’ Seafour and ignore those which led people to form the opinions they have. There isn’t any reason any of us need to resort to pettiness but i can understand the frustration of some people too, no one has yet said why the people voicing concerns are wrong, I’m completely happy to listen to people more knowledgeable than I am who can maybe explain something I’ve missed

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 07/01/2019 17:55

I love that people that have spent hours talking bollocks in an imaginary bus think they have the moral high ground telling people that have drawn attention of an op’s somewhat dubious behaviour to get a hobby
I mean honestlyGrin

Yawning why is it ok for seafour and the buslings to make vile comments about identifiable people? Why is it ok for seafour to exaggerate her symptoms for dramatic effect?

yawning801 · 07/01/2019 18:12

Almost attacking? No dear, it was a direct attack. Because lying about cancer symptoms is indeed vile garbage.

With all due respect, none of us can tell if Sea is lying. If you've read her posts, you'll see that she is actually a decent person. And who would lie about faking cancer? Considering that Sea is actually living her life, I think she has first dibs, out of all of us, on what is wrong with her.

And for the record, a direct attack on someone who has struggled with mental health in the past is also vile garbage.

Cuntcuntcunt · 07/01/2019 18:13

She admitted to dramatising the open wound from her cancer treatment though, yawning. And the photos don't show an open wound across her whole cheek and on to her nose the size of the palm of one's hand.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 07/01/2019 18:15

She admitted to exaggerating the cancer story
Herself
seafour
And the vile names she used for nhs staff is here in plain sight
No one is putting words in her mouth
Decent person?

mineofuselessinformation · 07/01/2019 18:16

I really don't understand why people who feel so strongly haven't reported this thread. Isn't that what you are supposed to do? (Especially those who think the OP's posts are outing, or trolling, or lying, I could go on...)
Or you could have sent OP a private message - there is a system quite capable of doing it.
But no, you feel the need to do it here.
That is most certainly not in the spirit of how Mumsnet is supposed to work.
You can shoot me down in flames if you want, but I've been here long enough to know that's just not on.

Cuntcuntcunt · 07/01/2019 18:19

Are you actually saying that its ok for what has been posted about here wrt HCPs, IDENTIFIABLE HCPs, should stand unchallenged? Shock

yawning801 · 07/01/2019 18:22

Are you actually saying that its ok for what has been posted about here wrt HCPs, IDENTIFIABLE HCPs, should stand unchallenged?

Did you not read what MNHQ said about the HCPs not being identifiable?

Yawning why is it ok for seafour and the buslings to make vile comments about identifiable people? Why is it ok for seafour to exaggerate her symptoms for dramatic effect?

And why is it OK for a bunch of people to suddenly flood onto a thread and start attacking one person? Safety in numbers?

freeAnneBoleyn · 07/01/2019 18:24

Wow. Bit of a turn-up for the books of what was the sequel of the self-professed ‘nicest ever thread on Mumsnet’

(It wasn’t. It was an ego trip in a sychophantic bus, casually running over hard-working HCP along the way)
