P.S. Sea, you are of course first in line for snuggles with that gorgeous young man!

Heartofglass21 · 20/12/2018 21:22

@Gruber your baby boy is GORGEOUS!! Congratulations.

Seafour · 20/12/2018 21:29

FabPA have you been drinking too? You are a wonderful woman of few words so it was a delightful surprise to see your long post. It has been quite a week hasn't it. Yes the pains been bad but we got through it and we're almost home.

I have the best PA in the whole wide world, you're one in a million and I love you and your beautiful girls to bits. Take a bow and a round of applause from the bus brigade please. Now go and check out the dating thread.

Tofupanda I'm sorry your dd needs rods, please don't think it will be this bad for her, remember I'm critically ill at my best and have fought hard to live as independently as I can with DH and FabPA. I've seen lots of youngsters on the spinal ward and they usually do really really well. Do pm me if you want more information.

Lovely message @fabPA

Izzy24 · 20/12/2018 21:40

Another inspiring day on the bus.

I feel very lucky to be part of this thread and am in awe of all the lovely people here. Not least of course, Sea and the Fab PA.

And that baby😊......

Early night from me but make as much noise as you like .....

Thefabulouspa · 20/12/2018 22:03

If only Seafour😂 I actually would love a really ice cold G&T right now, lots of ice and lemon but we can all dream😂

I never do big, long emotive posts of any kind, however I think your story has bought(not brought)😂😂 together an absolutely fabulous group of ladies that all have the most loveliest, powerful stories!!! We don't need to break each other down with nasty posts or snide comments, it's all about seeing each other through good times and bad!!!!! Xx

SandunesAndRainclouds · 20/12/2018 22:48

Apologies for my absence. I hopped off the bus to celebrate a —my— birthday 🎂

SandunesAndRainclouds · 20/12/2018 22:48

Dammit. Strikethrough never works on my phone! Gin

2018SoFarSoGreat · 20/12/2018 23:07

Fabulous that was a beautiful message, followed by an even more beautiful one. One ice cold G&T coming shortly. Chilling the glass to make it special enough for the wonder that is you.

Sea I'm glad you have Ms. Fabulous. I'm glad she is in our world. We need you saved, as regularly as is required please, and thank you :)

Happy birthday Sand - hope you had a good one.

One. More. Day. of work. I can do this, I really can. At least I think I can. Ugly Sweater party to throw tomorrow afternoon, judge the worst of the worst, feed some cookies and eggnog, then we are DONE. I don't want to see a one of them until next year. Oh. That feels good typing that.

Sleep well, dear Sea. Here's to the pain buggering off to some dark corner where no patient lies.

Seafour · 21/12/2018 00:00

Thinkofawittyname we will all meet up in real life when we celebrate my recovery. We will celebrate by having a massive picnic somewhere and have real hugs and probably Seafour will shed a few tears.

Goodnight my awesome bus brigade

Seafour · 21/12/2018 06:29

Good morning bus brigade, I've just been woken from a nightmare:

I was trying to get away from a man with a shotgun and trying to hide but I couldn't hide and couldn't get onto the ground.

It was horrible

OP posts:
TheSquatLobster · 21/12/2018 06:45

It's ok Seafour, just a bad dream. We're here, it's fading away now. Somebody on the bus is singing a lullaby to Rupert. Everything is peaceful.
Try and get a little more sleep. We'll all be at that picnic. There will be sandwiches and boiled eggs, and lashings of champagne.

AlbusPercival · 21/12/2018 06:54

Sorry about your nightmare seafour. I’ve just started taking sertraline which is giving me all sorts of mad dreams. Last night I was trying to arrest Xie Jin Ping (no idea if that’s how you spell it, leader of China) in the chaos at Gatwick. I’ve woken up exhausted so you have my sympathy

JustanotherCHRISTMASuser01 · 21/12/2018 07:21

Oh seafour you poor thing.
When you are ready come sit in the snug we have blankets etc and were debating what Christmas film were going to watch first.

WitchDancer · 21/12/2018 07:55

Arthur Christmas or the Polar Express?

Vebrithien · 21/12/2018 07:58

Been lurking for a long time, on this thread and the last, and would love to join the bus (can bring Christmas chutney and cheese?)
I've laughed and cried whilst reading, and don't think I've ever seen such a supportive thread.
Seafour you have my prayers for your Christmas at home. You and Ms. Fabulous are a shining example of all that is good and brave and strong in this world.

Izzy24 · 21/12/2018 08:12

Morning Sea.

The SquatLobster has started my day with a happy smile so I hope it’s soothed your nightmares too.

Is today the shortest day?

I always like the thought that the days will begin to lengthen again very soon.

Stopyourhavering64 · 21/12/2018 08:17

This thread has indeed restored my faith in humanity, it just goes to prove that there are some genuinely lovely, fabulous people out there and I'm so glad I found this thread .
seafour sorry you had such a terrible nightmare, opiate drugs do give some horror effects as well as great pain relief! Hope you have a better day and getting home is a real possibility
A small piece of possible good news re my dB funeral, I've been in touch with my other brother , ( he phoned me)- I've not seen/ spoken to since my dm funeral 9yrs ago ...he's going to come to his step brothers funeral ...I hope we can start to rebuild our relationship ( all to do with my dm will and my half sister but that's a completely new thread
Off to brave the supermarket(s) to do the festive shop , copious gin may be required later!

JoeElliotsMullet · 21/12/2018 08:22

Morning Seafour, what a horrid dream. It’s ok, it’s just a dream. Come into the blanket fort and watch a Christmas film. I’m voting for Arthur Christmas.
Izzy has pointed out that today is the shortest day. The darkness will recede from now on and that is very comforting. It is still dark here, the dawn is just breaking - it won’t be properly light for another half hour, then we’ll be drawing the curtains again about 3.30. Luckily they are awesome curtains so that’s ok.
Hope you get over your bad dream, I find a bit of silly telly very helpful for that. Xxx

bexcee · 21/12/2018 08:40

Arthur Christmas gets my vote too although we watched The Christmas Chronicles yesterday in Netflix and loved it even my teenage son! Well worth a watch if anyone's looking for a film.
I just love this thread - to me it shows the true spirit of the internet a bunch of strangers coming together with the soul purpose of support and friendship.
@Thefabulouspa sounds like you have been blessed with a guardian angel @Seafour how wonderful to literally be able to put your life in her hands and know that she'll look after you. How's your DH doing? Must be tough for him seeing you go through it all too.
Wishing you a comfortable day.

Seafour · 21/12/2018 10:22

Morning take 2 buslings (I think I like that better than bus brigade) thank you for rocking me back to sleep lobster, it's unheard of for me to go back to sleep so I'm really grateful.

I wish I had the energy to reply to everyone individually because each and every one of you deserve my individual thanks for every comment. You will have to make do with my love instead and knowing that I cherish you all enormously.

Verbrithien thank you for delurking and please come aboard and find a seat.

Am I the only one who has a clear image of the inside of the bus? In my mind it's bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. The seats are grouped facing each other like two seater sofas with tables in between.

The den is at the back of the bus and looks like a bejewelled Bedouin tent, it's full of huge bean bags and super soft sheepskins and knitted blankets(thanks woolly hugs) and I'm sure I can here some purring coming from the corner. There are big boxes of tissues, baskets of lip balm and soothing eye cream. My Lola comes in and wags her tail and licks the hands and feet of those who are crying, she hunts out the most in need of love and curls up in their lap, if you don't stroke her she gently paws at your hand until you do. After a few minutes she will roll onto her back for her tummy tickle reward, she then puts her tiny paws on your chest and stares deep into your soul transferring her bottomless pit of healing love to you. Off she goes to the next person but she will be back when you need her again.

Outside you can here the giggles of the toddlers from the top deck as they play and laugh along with older children busy preparing for Christmas and baking cookies and decorating the gingerbread houses I make every year. There are a constant stream of dog walkers coming and going from the huge park opposite the hospital and all dogs return bathed and fluffy from the dog grooming van parked next to the bus. The small pets never tire of being stroked, cuddled and brushed and their cages are kept fresh and clean.

Back soon........

I am loving the non-Euclidian bus :)

TofuPanda · 21/12/2018 10:57

I'm glad I took a seat at the back as it sounds lovely and cosy with all the blankets. I'm going to laze there a while with a warming drink. The bus is very nicely decorated for Christmas and smells of cinnamon and all things festive.
Sea I'm keeping everything crossed that you'll be home for Christmas. Are you sure you want us parked up outside your house though? We might be rather rowdy!

yawning801 · 21/12/2018 11:24

I got crazy dreams after my rod insertion too, think it was my body responding to the change. They did settle down though, so please don't worry.

My vote goes for Arthur Christmas too.

Gramgram · 21/12/2018 11:30

We need to get Sea a dream catcher so the nightmares don't come back.

Braved some shopping today, managed to get some chocolate dippers and marshmallows. I can't have them, too much sugar but I'd love to know if people actually let all the chocolate melt in the milk, or do they just do a token effort and wolf it straight from the stick?

Take care everyone.
