I haven't seen Arthur Christmas or Polar Express so I'm excited to see either.

It's that time again and I'm off to the shiterater again - yesterday was a disaster and left me in absolute agony, even I don't want to post the details of what followed, it was painful, degrading and left me feeling defiled the process was repeated two hours later and followed by a second round of irrigation at 10pm. So healing thoughts please for my bowel and paralysed descending colon.

Every time I come into hospital I put in place a bowel management plan - it's never been followed in all my many admissions with the exception of my home ward, it's just a shame they have the worst bathrooms in the whole hospital.

Anyway I'm currently sitting on a commode contemplating life and my new shape along with the fact that I can no longer wipe my own arse or reach my own fanjo. I'm hoping that once I'm out of the brace things will change.

@Seafour I don't know if you remember me from the Bootcamp boards, I had to leave as I was diagnosed with another chronic illness but you were lovely to me.

Just delurking to send my love and best wishes. You are doing brilliantly and if there's any space left for a wee one can I sneak on the bus too?

DMCChristmasCakes · 21/12/2018 12:53

Hello again Seafour, thefabulouspa & my fellow buslings.

Sorry that things have been a bit shit with your bowels again. Hope it's sorted soon.

I've been a bit quiet for the last few days as I'm exhausted and still not over this stupid lurgi.

Can I vote for Arthur Christmas for the film? "There's always time for a bow!"

Seafour · 21/12/2018 13:03

Tracey I do remember you, of course there's space so hop on board. I hope you are doing ok

Seafour have you heard of the Matt Hampton foundation, I done volunteer work there earlier in the year, I think you would be very interested it them. Please have a look,

traceyturnblatt · 21/12/2018 13:12

@Seafour I'm slow but steady. My boys are forever making me laugh and I don't know what I'd do without them they motivate me to keep moving when I don't want to.

I've been following your threads and have huge admiration for you and think your handling this like a true warrior Thanks

JustanotherCHRISTMASuser01 · 21/12/2018 13:22

Sea I love your ideas for the bus - I imagine an actual bus too a bit like the most plush hotel in the world with all snuggly furniture. The back of the bus sounds like absoloute heaven to me! Please may we have some magic champagne? The stuff that gets you a little drunk but no hangovers?
If you feel upto it please can we know more about how you imagine the bus? It sounds amazing!

Seafour · 21/12/2018 15:45

I'm very pleased to announce that my bmi has gone from 30.1 to 26.4 thanks to Mr Dishy and his band of merry men. It doesn't allow for any weight loss over the last two weeks when I've hardly been eating. I don't recommend it as a diet but I'm allowing myself to feel pleased for me for once.

More about the beautiful bus:

The part of the car park you're parked in is the staff car park, closed for building work, one of the temporary buildings is in fact our kitchen and beautiful dining room. There are lots of staff and three nutritious meals a day, there is also an area where you can cook, bake, make late night snacks etc. At the other end there is a chill out zone for the teens and popcorn machine, smoothies, fruit and a grazing area for those kids having a growth spurt.

Back on board we have a downstairs luxury bathroom area and a treatment room where you can go two at a time for a massage, facial, counselling session, acupuncture, reiki or anything else you need.

There are showers and Elemis toiletries, lots of perfumes and anything else you need.

Have I missed anything?

Our drive will magically expand to fit the bus, dog grooming parlour, catering facilities and I will give you a cheery wave form the lounge. Don't forget to take Lola if you're going for a walk and dh will post visiting times each day on our front door.

It is a good morning from me, being here in $&@?!ville (but only can't say his name but can't type it either. He needs to get his own bus.

So sorry you had the dream Sea but you truly don't have to worry. We have posted SeaSecurity at every door. You are safe. Have a wee cozy. There. All is well again.

I love our bus. The smells are amazing. Christmas, baby, freshly groomed dog, lovely soothing lotion. I'm bringing Fluffy tonight. My sheepskin rug, that my DGS's love to lie on. Perfect place for a story, or quiet songs to help us settle. I've confessed how badly I sing, but man can I tell a very quiet, soothing story. Incorporating all the joys of the day, the hopes for tomorrow and the dreams of the days to come. After the movie, of course.

Today is last day of work. Followed by dinner at a jazz club. The dilemma is that we have to be there by 7 15. Not quite enough time to get home first, but will make for Very Long Day at work. Ah well. First world problems.

Sea get the shit over and done with, then on with the healing. Better out than in, as they say.

Happy shortest day everyone 💖

Andro · 21/12/2018 16:57

I'm still here, but I've been a bit distracted making sure Christmas plans are functioning - Christmas dinner for 34 takes some work! Fortunately, both the wine and spirit deliveries arrived on schedule today, the butcher called to confirm my meat delivery time and I only need a few things from the supermarket.

Seafour, unfortunate nasty nightmare notwithstanding, it's really lovely to 'hear' you being so much more yourself - you had a rough time post op!

P.S. the bus has a jacuzzi complete with full hoisting capacity...I've just found it!

ThinkOfAWittyNameLater · 21/12/2018 17:42

Well, despite hardly ever drinking, I'm drunk again

Husband's uncle funeral today. He was a lovely, generous man. Only in his early 70s and cancer got him. The kids had a whale of a time at the wake - running around playing games with their cousins. We caught up with family & friends. And I found out that I need to buy 2 more gifts as person X has reunited with his girlfriend and she's bringing her kids on Christmas Day! Gah! Emergency shop tomorrow.

I can't wait to meet you @Seafour and DH, and @Thefabulouspa. Each of you are an inspiration.

The bus sounds amazing, and I love being a busling. I'd put the kettle on, but I'm feeling a bit wobbly and don't honestly think I'd remember the order! Tomorrow morning I will do a nice big breakfast to make up for my wonton lushness (is that a word?!)

Fingers crossed today had gone well for everyone and we've all had a pain free day xx

JustanotherCHRISTMASuser01 · 21/12/2018 19:42

Seafour,

I wonder if I could ask you to message me a mobile number? It would only be used for a (one off) text message.

I might be near where you are at the weekend - and would be nice to see if you was up for a quick visit easier, I won't know until fairly last minute and would hate to miss each other.

Absoloutely no pressure if not would be lovely to be able to pop in and say hello

Seafour · 21/12/2018 19:56

Justanotherchristmasuser I have sent you a pm Grin

Look what the little buslings have made today, I've been making gingerbread houses for 40 years, poverty forced me to be very creative when it came to presents when my kids were young so their cousins always got one of these. Now I send them undecorated for their children to finish.

Andro · 21/12/2018 20:50

Excellent!

Almostfifty · 21/12/2018 21:01

They look fabulous Sea.

Seafour · 21/12/2018 21:23

Although they resemble two that I made for the dgc's school to raffle and one for them to eat these ones were made by the little buslings, ably helped by the nannies, older children and anyone who wanted to eat sweets join in.

I'm back on the bus after a very busy week.

It's been a week of ups and downs for you sea, it's so good to read that your health and mobility are on the up poo notwithstanding. Sending you all of my usual best wishes. I've tried to bend from my hips, I can do it after a few goes but it does feel odd I can only imagine what it must be like to have to bend from them every time. I'm hoping your drugs kick in and you have a peaceful night.

Waves at fabpa, your fabness shows in your posts. Wishing you dating luck in love.

That is one beautiful baby Gruber I'd love a squish when you need someone to hold him.

You're never alone mineofuseless, I'm volunteering for hand holding duties too. Or we can sit with a cup of tea and stare quietly out of the window if you would prefer.

applesin I had a falling out with God some years back now but I'm sending you best thoughts that this is a sticky appleseed. Your toddler is gorgeous and that photo is hilarious.

havering I'm so sorry, sending you peace especially in the coming week Thanks

NancyHoHoHo · 21/12/2018 21:24

Brilliant gingerbread houses sea congratulations to the construction crew.

Izzy24 · 21/12/2018 21:24

Seafour · 21/12/2018 23:04

Goodnight buslings, please pass baby Rupert for a cuddle, I'm in the den, snuggled on a sheepskin.

OP posts:
mineofuselessinformation · 21/12/2018 23:14

Funnily enough, Sea, I've just given the sheepskin which resides on the computer chair a brush today as it was very bedraggled.
Many sleepy thoughts to you.
WittyName, sorry you're down today.
I lost my dad to pancreatic cancer just over two years ago. He went very quickly after diagnosis (four weeks exactly), but however long they have it's always a massive shock, so I'm thinking of you.

DMCChristmasCakes · 21/12/2018 23:16

Night night Seafour and sweet dreams.

zebrapig · 21/12/2018 23:35

I hijacked the bus today and took you all for a little trip away from the hospital to come to the magical Lanterns at Chester Zoo with us. There were light up animal actors everywhere, the big child enjoyed petting the penguins and shaking hands with a flamingo stilt walker. All of us were overjoyed when it 'snowed'. I thought you'd enjoy sharing the experience with us, especially as it's the wee man's first birthday. Now that we're safely back at the hospital who's for a party and some birthday cake?!
