hello fellow passengers and hello Sea - well done, you. Reporting for food and drink and sniffs of Rupert's neck and cuddles from dogs/cats (not reptiles or rodents, pleaseduty. So glad we are safe and sound here.
If the drugs are helping, settle in and let them do their magic. As much as one can settle amidst all the beeping and shuffling constantly, do try. We shall perhaps have a lullaby or two tonight.
Had DGS1 (8) over Saturday night, and since a baby the bedtime routine is for me to lay down on his bed once he's tucked in, and do stories, sing songs, and rub his back. He (since he is getting on in years) now likes us to 'have big talks' which is great. Recently, he has asked me to sing again. Now, I think I mentioned that I am blessed with one of the worst singing voices you shall ever hear. Folks in church/school/parties actually turn and look at me, aghast. Undaunted, I sing quietly to this little guy. Saturday he told me very sincerely 'you are a really good singer' - and my heart just about burst. That, right there, was love. He meant it! Poor little mite is blinded (deafened?) by love. It made my year. At the End of the Rainbow, and The Skye Boat song are my favorites. My DS sings The Beatles Lullaby song to his boys. When DH had open heart surgery, we face timed to ICU for DGS1 to sing it for him, and hearing that little voice tenderly singing it brought tears to all of our eyes.
