Do you like the film Love Actually?

I always cry at the beginning, when Hugh Grant is talking about love around us and the arrivals terminal at Heathrow. How the messages from people at the Twin Towers were all messages of love and not hate 😭

But I feel somewhat stabby at Miss Knightly saying "I look quite pretty" - Well of course you do, you're a bloody actress/model.

I adore Alan Rickman, even though he was a fool.

I love Colin Firth, and Billy Mack the rockstar makes me chuckle.

Emma Thompson (obviously).

Roman Atkinson, he helped the boy get through security. I didn't notice that before.

All my in laws say it's rubbish Grin they are not in my good books

I love it too!

dudsville · 02/12/2018 20:54

It's a great film!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/12/2018 20:55

I hate it.

Notfastjustfurious · 02/12/2018 20:55

Nope. I just don't get the hype really. Too many stories and not enough about any of them to really care. Plus I hate soppy films anyway I'd rather watch Die Hard.

AntsMarching · 02/12/2018 20:56

I love Love Actually! I don’t understand people who don’t like it. It’s complete and utter feel good rubbish. It’s great!

DrDillWithIt · 02/12/2018 20:56

Love it!

PrincessConsuelaBannanaHammock · 02/12/2018 20:57

I love it! I have to watch it every Christmas. I do like soppy stuff though and like you I always cry at the start Blush

No, it’s terrible. Really can’t understand why people love it so much. I’ve watched it a few times, just in case I’ve missed something. But no, still dreadful.

AlpacaPicnic · 02/12/2018 20:58

I like it. It makes me cry... But it also makes me laugh! Plus, Alan Rickman.

Lottapianos · 02/12/2018 21:00

I love most of it. A lot of it is total cringe and I get why people hate it. The whole Kris Marshall storyline is just ugh. Hugh Grant's speech to the US President is awful but his goofy dancing scene makes up for it. The swearing is naff and rubbish - no one ever says 'Oh piss it' Hmm I still look forward to it every Christmas but once a year is plenty

mirren3 · 02/12/2018 21:00

I love it too, don't know how many times I've seen it.

Parttimewasteoftime · 02/12/2018 21:01

Love it total crap obviously but the boys Mum dieing 😢 Lovely Hugh Grant and Alan Rickman. It's just a Christmas film but watch it every year 😳

greendale17 · 02/12/2018 21:01

No I didn’t really like it. Overhyped

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 02/12/2018 21:03

Is that the one where Colon Firth calls himself a disablist name?

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 02/12/2018 21:03

COLIN

Redglitter · 02/12/2018 21:04

I love it

WhyAmISoCold · 02/12/2018 21:04

I really like it and I'm not a slushy film person in general.

leghairdontcare · 02/12/2018 21:04

Don't think about it too much and it's enjoyable.

Mainie · 02/12/2018 21:05

It’s beyond awful. Quite apart from the retrograde gender politics — men propose to women with whom they don’t share a language, women are flattered by their husband’s best friend inflicting his crush on them, the PM and the US President fall out over a woman, who, despite being a normal size, is fat shamed by everyone at Number 10 — it makes Four Weddings and a Funeral look like Citizen Kane.

BettyOBarley · 02/12/2018 21:06

Love it! It's totally naff but such easy, don't have to think too much, watching. DH doesn't mind watching it either. In fact we prob watch it every few months Blush it's our go to, chilled night with candles and bottle of wine film!

Mainie · 02/12/2018 21:06

Oh, God, The Kris Marshall US sex fantasy plot — how could I forget? And he imports another interchangeable American girl for his friend. Hmm

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 02/12/2018 21:07

I love it too, particularly the storyline with Emma Thompson/Alan Rickman and the one with Liam Neeson and son

Unobtainable · 02/12/2018 21:09

I love it. Yes, it’s cheesy in parts and very sentimental but I love the chaos and the swearing and how comfortingly familiar all the characters are but most of all, I love it because of Alan Rickman. And Liam Neeson.

HildaZelda · 02/12/2018 21:09

I'm not too gone on it. I love Four Weddings though.
