If you could give someone ONE pear of wisdom to someone prior to your dying what would it be?

For me, I think I’d say

Truly, Stand up for yourself - you are worth far more than you think.

Would love to hear other pearls of wisdom - in a contemplative mood today!

Grin @ pear of wisdom! Do Lidl have them?

I think it would be to trust you gut and have the courage to say no to things that don’t feel right.

Frogletmamma · 24/10/2018 17:30

Never eat blue food

Bobbybobbins · 24/10/2018 17:31

Don't spend too much of your life on anything that makes you unhappy.

FekkoTheLawyer · 24/10/2018 17:31

Spellcheck everything.

IStandWithPosie · 24/10/2018 17:38

fekko Grin

Storm4star · 24/10/2018 17:41

Don't let things get you down. Life can change in an instant and something you think of today as being the worst thing that could happen can, in hindsight, turn out to be one of the best things to have happened.

IAmNotLikeThem · 24/10/2018 18:15

It's just a game, this life thing. There are rules, like any game, rules are there to benefit all of us, collectively. Does the rule impact on only me? If so, discard it because it is made up to suppress me. Does the rule benefit all of us? If so, take it, fly with it, shape its wings, make it a better rule because of me and what I have to give to this world.

The best analogies for life, love, health, and everything are found in agricultural sayings. We spent 700 years there.

We are here for two purposes: To have fun and to learn. Everything else is how we get here.

One of my favourite quotes from another: We try never to forget that medicine is for the people. It is not for the profits. The profits follow, and if we have remembered that, they have never failed to appear. The better we have remembered it, the larger they have been. (George Merck)

SugarandVinegar · 24/10/2018 18:20

You have as much right to be here as everyone else. Take up your space.

IAmNotLikeThem · 24/10/2018 18:26

Another from another, an 90 year old lady:

Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday and all is well

HauntedForestier · 24/10/2018 18:28

You can build your own family if your original one lets you down.

Treat people with kindness.

faeriequeen · 24/10/2018 18:28

Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think.

HauntedForestier · 24/10/2018 18:28

Ah, that's two pearls. Sorry!

Thewerera66it · 24/10/2018 18:31

Life can be really, really tough. Do what you need to in order to get through it, so long as you don't harm yourself or anyone else.

NoLeslie · 24/10/2018 18:34

I'd love a Pear of Wisdom Grin

Maybe:

If it's too tough to bite, try peeling it. If it's too hard to peel, try stewing it with sugar.

Sarcelle · 24/10/2018 18:35

Most if the things you worry about never happen, or if they do, you always cope. Stop worrying.

Laugh more.

Buy experiences not things.

Iagreewithmrsdevere · 24/10/2018 18:35

Don't fill the front garden with pretty purple gravel if you live opposite a children's playground. It will all slowly mysteriously disappear.

Gumbo · 24/10/2018 18:35

When it's dark outside, opaque bathroom windows do NOT render you invisible...get a blind!!

Grin
Sarcelle · 24/10/2018 18:36

Don’t listen to people who set rules like only give one pearl of wisdom. Ignore rules!!! Give plenty of pearls.

Annandale · 24/10/2018 18:39

I'm not wise and i've got by all right. Grow your own pears of wisdom.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 24/10/2018 18:39

NoLeslie

I love that!

Mine would be along the lines of before you can expect anyone to love you, learn to love yourself.

BonnieF · 24/10/2018 18:40

Consumerism is a lie. Materialistic people are fools. Stuff does not make you happy. Spending time doing things you love, with people you care about does make you happy.

Budgieinaberet · 24/10/2018 18:44

Do not eat the mushrooms . . . . .

Chottie · 24/10/2018 18:47

Never miss an opportunity to tell those closest to you that you love them.
