For me, I think I’d say

Truly, Stand up for yourself - you are worth far more than you think.

If the pear of wisdom is like other pears, you have precisely 17 minutes to eat it before it turns from sour rock to inedible gritty mush.

Mine would be: whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re probably right.

Be kind, but don’t stand for any shit.

People and events don't make you feel angry or sad. You choose your feelings, albeit subconciously. You don't need to be angry or sad, you can choose to simply not give a flying fuck.

Don't waste energy on things you cannot change. That includes wasting emotional energy stressing about things that have already happened.

For me, having thought about it, the most liberating statement of all;

Everything I have ever expressed could be wrong

Nothing good ever comes from losing your temper - if you can keep your cool in a difficult situation you will have the advantage.

It's cheesy but it's life changing:

You can't choose what happens to you but you can choose how you react. Too many people waste too much time being angry/bitter/sad about the way someone else has treated them when the only person it's hurting is themselves.

When I was 18 my grandad died, just before he passed he told me his advice was do not drift, that advice has served me well.

I also like enjoy yourself its later than you think.

My Granddad's was "money cant buy you happiness but it makes being miserable a darn sight more comfortable"

My grandad always said "spend lavishly on anything that goes between you and the ground - shoes, mattresses, tyres"

My personal pear is a stolen (scrumped?) one: "even the weariest river/winds somewhere safe to sea'

Oh:"and whenever possible, be kind. It is always possible."

Never trust politicians/the political establishment.
Don't believe what politicians/the political establishment say.
Always remember that politicians work for the people, not the other way around.

Mine is: Life REALLY isn't a rehearsal, so it's better to regret what you have done than things you haven't.

And forgive yourself!
