If you could give someone ONE pear of wisdom to someone prior to your dying what would it be?

For me, I think I’d say

Truly, Stand up for yourself - you are worth far more than you think.

Would love to hear other pearls of wisdom - in a contemplative mood today!

If you don’t rate orgasms as a good thing, you’ve never had one.

BennySF · 27/10/2018 04:52

One can only ever be proud or ashamed of something they did or chose.
Don't let yourself or someone else make you feel pride or shame for something you did not do or choose. And of course apply the same to other people.

When you're going through hell, keep going.

I think this should be played everywhere so we all get brainwashed by it. m.youtube.com/watch?v=MQlJ3vOp6nI
All of it is true.

If your get to a cross roads in your life and your head tells you to go one way and your heart tells you to go another no matter how unwise or scary go with your gut.

SoMuchToBits · 27/10/2018 05:48

elephants, I so agree with you! And this is why I paddle in the sea, make scenarios with the Playmobil people, have an advent calendar every year and generally enjoy life. Smile

ohtheholidays · 27/10/2018 05:51

Make yourself happy.

I wish someone had told me to do that years ago.

TheBlessedCheesemaker · 27/10/2018 06:08

If you’ve never failed, you’ve not been trying hard enough.

If you say "Let's meet for coffee and a catch up" put a date in the diary together and do it or it'll be several years later before you realise it.

Gossipygirl · 27/10/2018 10:57

Your value does not decrease based on somebody's inability to see your worth

I love this quote, it always gives me the ability to reset in difficult times

mummiesNwitcheSOLOvertheplace · 27/10/2018 11:24

And never let the sun set on an argument.

BlackWitchInChildWringing · 27/10/2018 11:47

All will be well in the end. And if all isn't well, then it isn't the end.

WhatsGoingOnEh · 27/10/2018 11:56

Have a shower within 10 minutes of getting up, otherwise you'll spend the whole day hiding inside your house in a crusty mess, cancelling plans and generally feeling crap about yourself.

Just thought of another that carried me through a divorce.

Arguing with an unreasonable person is like trying to play chess with a pidgeon. Pointless.

Every time my ExH started....I thought about that phrase and I didn't engage. Saved my sanity

phoebemac · 27/10/2018 13:43

The outcome of something never depends on how much you worry about it.

You may be ill of body but you can still be happy of mind. Seek success only in something you feel passionate about. Never have status anxiety. Always find reasons to be thankful.

I read in a book recently about a character who said 'we've had a good day today haven't we?'At the end of a good day & his friend said 'he collected good days in his memory like other people collect stamps'

I've taken to saying this to the family after a nice day & it's had a profound effect on dc. They take a moment to reflect & realise they are relatively happy & usually pick out something they particularly enjoyed. Today for ds it was scrabble & dd it was cake. I'm thankful in anticipation of the vintage champagne I'm about to open that was a 40th birthday gift over a year ago & has been taken up valuable cupboard space. In my pjs watching strictly & am much more looking forward to it than if I was opening it at a celebration with more people to share it with than dh! 😂

Childbirth is a lottery and there are no ante-natal/hypnobirthing classes that can prevent problems. So think hard about home birth.
