Things you have tried due to MN and failed miserably at?

Am I the only one who has tried some stuff out due to MN threads and it turned out well not good?

Today getting ready I was thinking about a MN thread I read some time ago about drying in the shower or outside the shower. Usually I dry outside however the towel we usually have on the floor has been " replaced" (I am looking at you ds) with a normal towel and it was pretty wet.. So I figured I would try what MN post had suggested and dry inside the shower.

Currently nursing a bruise on left arm where I hit it into the folding door (it folds inwards so actually not a lot of room for drying I found) Ok I think stupid of you not to close the door. So I close the door and manage to scrape my left wrist on the door frame..

I will be drying myself outside the shower in the future.. More room

Funny you mention that as I've started doing that too and I like it!
Eyebrow blades. Left me with eyebrow stubble and tiny nicks.

CharDeeMacDennis · 24/09/2018 11:23

Cleaning my oven with a baking soda paste

Disaster. Absolute shitshow.

FishChops · 24/09/2018 11:23

I tried the Lakeland heated airer after believing the MN promise that it'd change my life.

No, it was shite. I wonder if I missed something and that's why I failed miserably but I don't think I did.

shumway · 24/09/2018 11:25

Footner. Definitely wouldn't do it again.

StealthPolarBear · 24/09/2018 11:26

Oo yes footner. Urgh

Reaa · 24/09/2018 11:28

What's Footner?

Cleaning an oven with neat washing up liquid works better imo.

paxillin · 24/09/2018 11:28

Cleaning the loo with cola. Perhaps it disinfected the lime scale, sadly it also turned it brown.

Schmoochypoos · 24/09/2018 11:30

Folding a fitted sheet - still can’t do it Blush

SilverDragonfly1 · 24/09/2018 13:09

Fishchops Heated airer needs a thin sheet over the top to dry things efficiently. Ignore the nonsense Lakeland spout about damaging floors. They just want you to buy their own cover. Mine's been on carpet for 3 years with no effect whatsoever.

Alternatively, I can take it off your hands! Always wish i'd bought the 3 tier...

Enko · 24/09/2018 14:38

is the footner the thing that peels the skin of your feet?

The IKEA antilop highchair gets rave reviews on here. I hate hate hate hate it!! Yeah it's £14 but I wish I'd spent more money and didn't trip over the f**King thing for a year of my life and have to pick it up to move it around my kitchen 6 times a day.

glitterbiscuits · 24/09/2018 14:50

I sent the Lakeland heated airer back. Fantastic customer service. Useless airer.

Footer, however, I LOVE

I am going to win this thread - in several moments of complete madness I did the MN haircut (about 10 years ago) - I looked mad and had to wear a hat until I got it sorted by a hairdresser.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 24/09/2018 14:59

The haircut ... just Don't! The waitrose baby bottom balm didn't work any wonders for me or my children.
These tips were from years and years ago ...

HowlsMovingBungalow · 24/09/2018 14:59

haha Gin!

Ginslinger · 24/09/2018 15:00

I think the waitrose bottom butter was a joke by the style and beauty ladies

TheKnackeredChef · 24/09/2018 15:03

Oh god. The haircut. What was I thinking?!

Amberheartkitty · 24/09/2018 15:12

Lots of stuff. Stupid crap steam mop. Bulky heavy useless thing.
Hair remover down the plug hole. Didn’t melt the hair.
Dishwasher tablets on oven. Did not work.
I do love my new squirty mop squeeze the handle and cleaner sprays onto floor and away you go. Love it.
And I do like to spritz everything with zoflora and clean with it.
Don’t like vinegar either it stinks.

MawkishTwaddle · 24/09/2018 15:30

Steam mop - crap.
Bottom butter - gave me spots.
Estée Lauder Doublewear Foundation - also gave me spots.

friendlyflicka · 24/09/2018 15:40

Zoflora - smells like really cheap air freshener. Disgusting

catinboots9 · 24/09/2018 15:41

Yeah the haircut. Fucked my lovely long hair. Still bitter nearly 10 years later.

FishChops · 24/09/2018 15:52

I did cover the heated airer with a sheet but it was still pretty useless. The clothes took AGES to dry, they smelled a bit musty, and my room got all condensation on the windows. The airer took up so much bloody room as well. I sent it back

A580Hojas · 24/09/2018 16:11

30 day shred. I'm too heavy and my knees aren't up to it!

DontWannaBeObamasElf · 24/09/2018 16:13

Microwave cheese sauce.

waxy1 · 24/09/2018 16:15
