So just woundering, what's your best mumsnet memory Smile

OP posts:
DMCWelshCakes · 23/09/2018 15:26

You're right! I'd conflated the religious fridge and the wandering toaster threads!

And yes, it was the mum borrowing the toaster. I just remember crying with laughter at what turns out to be both of them.

Clearly household appliances aren't to be trusted... Hmm

Loft hatch/swimming costume/Fire Brigade thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1484517-To-STILL-be-embarassed-2-weeks-later-Firemen-related Grin

The woman screaming at the Sistine Chapel made me cry with laughter

SymphonyofShadows · 23/09/2018 16:18

The first one I remember is Box Room Troll but I don't remember all the details.

Also Coatgate, where a friend had given the OP a vintage coat and friend's teenage daughter had seen pictures of OP in it and wanted it back years later.

LunaMay · 23/09/2018 18:17

@CaptainCallisto I might be thinking of a different thread but didn't the wedding dress one go bad? As in the bride turned out to be quite ungrateful??

CaptainCallisto · 23/09/2018 18:25

I can't remember Luna - you may well be right!

LIZS · 23/09/2018 18:32

Has anyone mention Strawberry yet, or the bear found in Westminster?

So many inspiring dc - the mnetter whose dd has Downs, emkana's ds , Maud ...

Pink Peter

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 23/09/2018 18:59

I am pretty certain Box Room Troll is still posting. Something just this week made me do a chinny reckon.

EduCated · 23/09/2018 19:42

One of the very first threads I read - someone had got quite drunk at a party and was dancing whilst oh so subtly checking her reflection, at least so she thought until she heard someone ask ‘is she watching herself in the French doors?’. I remember being utterly tickled by it at the time.

Booble plate was another.

On a more serious note, a thread a started on relationships, where posters were so kind and helped me see that the relationship I was in was becoming unhealthy and gave me the confidence to leave and trust myself again.

LanguidLobster · 23/09/2018 20:32

Where's Mexican house thief? I haven't read that one, does anyone have a link please?

SneakyGremlins · 23/09/2018 20:33

It's in classics Languid!

PawneeParksDept · 23/09/2018 20:44

It's not actually a stand alone thread Mexican House Thief its a few posts within a general thread about cheek which has gone down in MN lore for the absolute liberty of it @LanguidLobster it's Have you ever encountered anyone this cheeky? In Classics and it's a long way in. It's reputation is well deserved.

pnutter · 23/09/2018 20:46

Your minge is my all time favourite..the way the op had written it, she was pregnant i believe and had her tankini top on but not the bottoms ShockGrin
My favourite because it was me was when i had bum surgery and a mnetter rescued me and drove from essex to kent and drove me home as i had no lift and 2 kids at home. Sharon 😍 ..not the SharonGrin

LanguidLobster · 23/09/2018 20:56

Thanks Pawnee! whole lotta scrolling...

sneaks there's a very funny one in there asking recommendations for bigger cats (she meant cars)

LEMtheoriginal · 23/09/2018 21:03

Most of you wont remember this one but for me it was "the village" it was a series of threads in mental health that a group of folk suffering with MH issues supported each other. I shall never forget that place - can still picture it now. The pub had an open fire and we would chat over our stone fences.

Zombie - who could forget her bravery.

anitagreen · 23/09/2018 21:09

BALONZ I only joined this year but reading that made me laugh so bad I don't think it counts as a memory though Grin

DMCWelshCakes · 23/09/2018 21:19

Anyone else remember Miguel Tuna?

LatteLover12 · 23/09/2018 21:20

Everything @WowserBowser said!

Also the thread about who had the right of way on a single track road & the CF who wouldn’t reverse - it escalated to MNers offering to play zombies in the fields 😂

I love MN

SneakyGremlins · 23/09/2018 21:36

Lem you should restart that!

TheOnlyAletheia · 23/09/2018 21:37

Brian from Hull
Sinister Easter bonnet

meditrina · 23/09/2018 21:40

Miguel Tuna - hell yes!!

AuntieStella · 23/09/2018 21:42

On a rather more sombre note, the only thread which has ever made me cry is icw EdgarAllenPoe

iVampire · 23/09/2018 21:48

This thread got me looking back at BiscuitsAndBandages. It’s nearly 4 years since she died. It’s nearly one year since au was diagnosed with leukaemia, but I have a much more treatable version than she had.

But in looking back, I saw her fundraising In Memoriam page is for the same charity (under its old name) as I fundraise for bus running events.

I remember being touched by the ‘stake’ threads at the time, and could never have guessed what an added resonance they would have now

#bloodcancerawarenessmonth - do you know the symptoms?

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 23/09/2018 21:49

I AM CANADIAN
the one where lemon drizzle cake mum got her comeuppance in a reply all email fuck up
A thread, possibly in chat where someone posted on Good Friday about their son, who was a missionary, having been arrested and possibly facing the death penalty which turned into a bit of a bunfight after half the thread missed the reference.

MarthasGinYard · 23/09/2018 21:51

4 years since Biscuits

Seems like yesterday Thanks
