So just woundering, what's your best mumsnet memory Smile

OP posts:
PunkrockerGirl59 · 22/09/2018 22:45

Supersoaker was brilliant, one my favorites.

elQuintoConyo · 22/09/2018 22:46

I second Nikelbabe's live birth threads, they're what got me hooked on signed up to Mumsnet.

Artisan fat balls.

Brian from Hull and his Yoni massages.

The thread with the weirdest parents you've ever come across - included a naked pan-pipe playing mother at a swimming pool and Turtle Boy stuck inside a car seat. Great stuff!

iVampire · 22/09/2018 22:47

Yes, MarthasGinYard - I do sometimes wonder how the Crumbs are doing and hope they’re OK enough.

Ohb0llocks · 22/09/2018 22:48

The pushchair

'I snapped and farted'

EMINs threads ❤️

PierreBezukov · 22/09/2018 22:48

Oh, yes Chester Zoo one was good. Was she lying?

Pom bears dinner party was good too.

Also the haunted office with the exorcism (and the pebble-throwing poltergeist)

Ohb0llocks · 22/09/2018 22:49

@PierreBezukov I forgot about that one!!

Passmethecrisps · 22/09/2018 22:51

Oh my gosh yes to pan pipe Mum and turtle boy

EssentialHummus · 22/09/2018 22:51

The one where a poster found an indecipherable note in her hedge, with a 2p coin tucked inside. Cue 25 pages of It's Hebrew! It's Sanskrit! That coin represents payment to enter the ancient Greek underworld! I was transfixed. Grin (And no, afaik, we still don't bloody know what the note said or who wrote it.)

More personally, after I posted mid-anxiety attack having walked into a support group for people with special needs, that I thought was a meeting about local volunteering (which now sounds comical, but it wasn't at the time) - people were so kind and helpful, and about a dozen posters local to me got in touch to invite me for coffee/a walk/a chat. It was wonderful.

PierreBezukov · 22/09/2018 22:52

On a more sober note, the first thread I read here about emotional and financial abuse was by a South African poster called OverTheShoulderBoulder. She was trying to build up the courage to leave her husband but suddenly stopped posting. I wonder what happened to her.

I also remember when Gentle otter posted asking for support and advice when she was snowed in during one winter and had no running water.

MakeYourOwnFuckingTea · 22/09/2018 22:52

The lady who was fostering a baby addicted to heroin. That was harrowing, beautiful, heart breaking and uplifting. I know EMIN passed away and even though I didn't know her it gutted me to realise that there was now one less person like her on earth. RIP Emin and 💔

Mamabearx4 · 22/09/2018 22:52

My best was when a little lost her rabbit? Or bear i cant remember exactly. But it was quite rare, so mumsnet went in search and luckly one was found and kindly donated. There in sued a lavish and lovely documenty of the toys travel and why he disappeared . It was incredibly brilliant and shown mumsnet in the best light. Sorry im a complete softie.

RubaDubMum89 · 22/09/2018 22:53

The cheeky neighbour eating the Ops Fray Bentos pie!! 😂 😂

QueenieMum · 22/09/2018 22:54

I genuinely can't remember how the Chester Zoo one ended @PierreBezukov

QueenieMum · 22/09/2018 22:55

The one about the CF neighbour who holidayed in their Mexican villa. Really enjoyed that one!

WhatInTheWorldIsGoingOn · 22/09/2018 22:56

A tiny insignificant comment about 5 years ago on a thread still stays with me now. Not a single other person will remember it I’m sure but I think of it weekly.

It was some kind of thread about what to wash with in the shower and somebody wrote,
“Nothing messes with the Ph of my vagina.” As a serious statement in the thread. For some reason I found it hilarious and now when reach for any kind of shower gel that phrase pops into my head still!

TheFillijonk · 22/09/2018 22:57

I vaguely remember cunt bunting!

PrincessMargaret · 22/09/2018 22:57

Cha0s when she lost her f0rth v0wel.

Passmethecrisps · 22/09/2018 22:58

I remember your thread essential

bluetrampolines · 22/09/2018 22:59

I don't have time to read this right now but what happened to the poster whose h wouldn't let her in the garage?

UpstartCrow · 22/09/2018 23:00

Cat Thief Keith's eggs.
The Facebook Tat threads.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 22/09/2018 23:01

Cake punching
Cutted up pear
Poo pouffe

Allycumpooster · 22/09/2018 23:04

T. rex. Hands down.

TwllBach · 22/09/2018 23:05

I hope no one minds me saying this but there was a poster with a little girl with leukaemia who was dying. I remember the posters name (and her daughter’s) but I don’t want to say it in case it triggers her or she thinks I’m odd, but the amount of love that hundreds of MNers poured over this woman and her family just astounded me. It wasn’t a frenzy like some of the recent more public ones have been, it was dignified, it was so heartfelt and it even had humour in the darkness. It was a good five/six maybe even seven years ago now, but I still think of that little girl and her favourite song when I hear it.

Trialsmum · 22/09/2018 23:06

A poster who came on regularly to post utter nonsense about her dh who she thought was having an affair with ‘Sharon’.

The Pombear party.

Oh and yes the super soaker one, she was so she just couldn’t see how PFB she was being!

StableGenius · 22/09/2018 23:07

Pierre that OverTheShoulderBoulderHolder thread has haunted me ever since. I so so hope she got away and is OK.

Supersoaker was fantastic, it was the way the OP just failed to accept she was BU after post upon post of YABU.

The Moldies controversy gripped me for an entire festive period.
