shakeyourcaboose · 23/09/2018 08:57

Maui? And the most popular, beautiful, gorgeous amazing Disney Princess or whatever she was! Although l am assuming that was trolling?

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 23/09/2018 08:58

I will never forget when a long term poster (art something or other) got outed as a troll by a zombie thread.

The thread had the usual posts about it being a zombie then someone cottoned on that this poster had posted on it a year before with details that didn't add up.

LittleBookofCalm · 23/09/2018 09:09

What was T rex?

LittleBookofCalm · 23/09/2018 09:11

I dont remember threads, I never have time to read whole threads.
i did read the EMIN one Sad
and the Rumpled one Thanks
but there were read not live.
I remember a long running thread about a penguin
and vaguely a thread about did you bring the pombears
Bear

TerfsUp · 23/09/2018 09:25

Thanks, Philomena. Will take a look now.

elaine26 · 23/09/2018 09:26

Kitchen objects that are pricks had me I stitches (still does)

Pandamodium · 23/09/2018 09:30

The pushchair thread was brilliant so short and sweet.

Heart touching ones EMIN's drug addicted baby and Aillidh.

LittleBookofCalm · 23/09/2018 09:32

one thread had me hooked about a live birth, of a foal , which had a terrible result Sad just awful and so very upsetting.

ALemonyPea · 23/09/2018 09:35

The thread getting a toddler bed from Riven down south to TrinityRhino in Scotland was amazing. So many MNers involved with that one.

The first funny thread I read, which hooked me to the site was about a poster whose husband had bought a coat from BHS instead of the more expensive M&S one. Some of the witty comments had me in tears.

mumonashoestring · 23/09/2018 09:40

T-rexing in Asda, the lemon drizzle PTA bitch, the Mexican house thief, and Somerville's (I think!) very lovely return to (not)dating.

MyGuideJools · 23/09/2018 10:17

SLois oh really, that's a bit sad, thanks for updating.

Passmethecrisps · 23/09/2018 10:41

What I think is a bit of a shame is that while I only joined in 2011 I recognise a load of the names from the very early days. I think a lot of those people either left or name changed after various hacking incidents

I don’t see as many threads which make me properly laugh out loud anymore. But maybe that’s more that I don’t have as much time.

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 23/09/2018 11:19

Some of the webchats stand out for me. The Gordon Brown one days before the 2010 election, the Nigella one where all she said was "have a look in my latest book", the Delia one where she made Nigella look like an amateur....

Obviously, also, many of the long running troll thread stick out as well. And the kind stuff from years ago that just doesn't happen anymore.

I thought Korean lady was appalling, Spangran was ridiculous. And I still don't believe the fat ball one, or indeed many of the others that make people wee/spit coffee etc. I think they begin with an element of truth, and the OP starts to believe their own publicity and overeggs the custard. Mind you, there were one or two like that yesterday, which I imagine will be in classics soon enough.

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 23/09/2018 11:21

The "I am CANADIAN!!!!" poster (I think it was Canadian) That was funny, if just because she was so U but couldn't see it.

Whohasnickedmyvodka · 23/09/2018 11:31

The one that always sitcks in my mind is the night zombie went and rescued a pbp who was in an abusive relationship and wanted to leave

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 23/09/2018 11:39

Yes, that one too. Not one of MN's finest hours.

BikeRunSki · 23/09/2018 11:40

Balonz

dontticklethetoad · 23/09/2018 11:47

BikeRunSki yes! Whilst very silly, that one was funny.

PhilomenaButterfly · 23/09/2018 11:52

Zombie was a hero. I was on her last thread. So sad. So many of us miss her. DS1 has a Candy's Hug, which were started in her name. Hope you're partying hard wherever you are Zombie. Gin
