I bloody hope it's Sara Cox - I love her!

OP posts:
explodingid · 03/09/2018 20:35

I think I'm the only one, but I would LOVE Alan Carr and Mel Sykes!

Actually they would be OK. I can't think of another combo that works.

DearPrudence · 03/09/2018 20:41

Would love Danny Baker but it will be a woman and my money's on Sara Cox.

I cannot listen to a minute of Simon Mayo or Craig Charles.

luckycat007 · 03/09/2018 20:50

Anyone but Vanessa feltz please.

The80sweregreat · 03/09/2018 20:52

Craig is brilliant but I agree it will be a woman.
Nice of Chris to mention Terry Wogan I thought. I bet his deal with virgin is huge!
Enough for another rare sports car no doubt!

HollowTalk · 03/09/2018 20:55

I'd like Stuart Maconie. Love him.

I agree Simon Mayo would be great there too, ON HIS OWN.

Graham Norton would be great, but I doubt he'd want it.

And I'd like Jonathon Ross back again.

seven201 · 03/09/2018 20:58

I'd like Jon Homes. I'm actually not sure if his surname is Homes, it's possibly I made that up. Anyway, he used to do the breakfast show on XFm a few years ago. When Chris moyles took over from Jon I made the switch to radio 2/Chris. I don't know if I'll stick with radio 2 or go to virgin for Chris

Second choice would be Sara cox

HelloDoris · 03/09/2018 20:59

Sara Cox for my money, although I would LOVE Paul o'Grady I adore his radio show..

Northumberlandlass · 03/09/2018 21:01

Coxy or Zoe please!

QueenDoris · 03/09/2018 21:05

John Humphries in a sideways move from R4

BlueUggs · 03/09/2018 21:09

Sara Cox please. I might finally be able to listen to R2 in the mornings (can't stand Chris and couldn't stand Terry, sorry).
😭😭😭😭😭 don't diss Terry. He was just the best person ever.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 03/09/2018 21:14

My vote goes to Sara Cox but I would be equally happy with Zoe Ball

Alan Carr & Mel Sykes would be great, their Saturday show really makes me smile

Please not Vanessa Veltz or Jo Wiley Angry

ALthough I like Claudia Winkleman I don't think she would be right for the breakfast slot

BoneyBackJefferson · 03/09/2018 21:18

Stormzyandme
Chris Moyles

MsJolly · 03/09/2018 21:22

It's already been announced that it is Sara Cox...!

BoneyBackJefferson · 03/09/2018 21:22

Someone mentioned Terry and as we all know there is a standard response

So, who will replace Chris Evans?
BlueUggs · 03/09/2018 21:23

I like OJ Borg. He's on in the middle of the night and keeps me awake on night shifts!!

MsJolly · 03/09/2018 21:25

But that's in the Daily Fail who have been known to get it wrong on occasion!

Petalflowers · 03/09/2018 21:27

There’s a DM (sorry) article saying sources have said it’s Sara Cox, but I haven’t seen confirmation anywhere else.

MrsMozart · 03/09/2018 21:27

MsJ I've seen that Sara Cox is leading the pack, but can't see a confirmation.

explodingid · 03/09/2018 21:29

It's already been announced that it is Sara Cox...!

Oh bloody hell! That's Radio 2 off the air for me for another decade!

ChinUpShouldersBack · 03/09/2018 21:31

Sara Cox or Graham Norton would be best.
Simon Mayo otherwise

Nothing has been announced.

Daily Fail might be right, but there's been no official announcement.

We'll more than likely hear something definite closer to Christmas.

Shockers · 03/09/2018 21:35

I love Sara Cox in the mornings; I’ll be able to listen to R2 again!

Hope they shove that bloody bicycle horn up Evans’ backside before he leaves.

ShowOfHands · 03/09/2018 21:38

I'd like Sara Cox but maybe somebody totally different. Liza, Graham and Paul O'G I love but none of them would do it. Mel and Sue would be great. Or something left of field like Noel Fielding and Jo Brand paired up.

LifeOfBriony · 03/09/2018 21:40

Another vote for Richard Allinson; I used to like him on Capital too.

I do like Chris Evans - he's a couple of years younger than me and has the same reference points, for example, things he remembers from his childhood. His musical taste is similar to , too (or mine to his).

Sara Cox is ok as a stand in, and I didn't dislike Fearne Cotton.

The worst was Miranda Hart, a few years ago.

Crunched · 03/09/2018 21:43

Coxy with Grimmy - win,win.
But Chris Evans leaving represents the end of an era for me. My youngest is off to uni in two weeks and her high school runs have been accompanied by Chris, who she loathes for always being upbeat, but she still found it was preferable to The Today programme that I would choose. Whenever Noah Evans came on, DD refused to believe such a little boy could be quite so articulate and confident.I told her it was in his genes.
