See you say that you need energy in the mornings, but as someone who hates waking up my perfect breakfast show is Shaun Keaveny on 6Music. I'm gutted that he's being replaced by Lauren Laverne in January.

Lisa is witty but her music choices are very odd sometimes and she is an acquired taste i think. too much for the morning slot.

Zoe is everywhere and has her own sunday morning chat show on ITV and the saturday afternoon slot on radio already. so i doubt she would want it but who knows? They like to keep the ones people know rather than new talent.

I'd love it to be Sara Cox and I really hope the BBC are listening to their audience this time.

They (at the BBC) are very well aware of their lack of female representation during the weekday primetime shows, hence their ill-judged pairing of Jo Whiley and Simon Mayo.

Hopefully, Steve Wright is the next to step down...

Liza Tarbuck and Vanessa Feltz make my teeth it. Both women are insincerity personified. I like Sara Cox though, she has the knack of sounding genuinely friendly and approachable.

I loathe Vanessa Feltz's early morning show.

I don't mind Sara Cox but they would have to promise to ditch that ridiculous winning at life segment which makes me want to throw things at the radio. I will be sad to see Chris go, though.

I'd love it to be sara cox, but I wonder if she would want to do it permanently. If it's Simon mayo I'll have to stop listening, I can't stand his show, jo isn't much better. If not sara cox I could get on board with fearne cotton, but if it's not one of them then I hope it's someone completely new to radio 2.

I will be sad to see him go whoever takes over. I really enjoy his show. 😢

Stopped listening to the show because of Chris Evans, so looking forward to hearing it once again, depending on the presenter of course. Please R2, not Cotton, Grimshaw, Mills or Moyles.

Another vote for Sara Cox. I do think it will be a female, it's got to be really amongst the male heavy daytime schedule. But please not Jo Wiley. Zoe Ball would be ok too but would prefer Sara.

@Valkarie I was going to say the same! I doubt it will be a woman as every other prime time slot is a bloke. Women only for holidays!

According to the commentator on the Today programme Evan's replacement is likely to be a woman because of pressures on the Beeb to have women in higher profile jobs.
I like Lauren Laverne but she is also doing Desert Island Discs at the moment , but I would prefer Shaun Keaveny to stay on 6Music breakfast show or possibly to replace Chris Evans. Quite pleased CE is going and agree Steve Wright has had his day........
