PessimisticMissPiggy · 03/11/2011 09:54

Oh MrGin pmsl!

BupcakesandCunting · 03/11/2011 09:54

Oh don't make me type reams out on my theory about Liz's infatuation with poor old Jim :( My heart couldn't take it.

FetchezLaVache · 03/11/2011 09:55

Women getting pregnant accidentally on purpose- of course it happens.

But "I do believe that any man who moves in with a woman in her late 30s or early 40s should take it as read that she will want to use them to procreate, by fair means or foul, no matter how much she protests otherwise." Really? Do fuck off, Liz.

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 03/11/2011 09:55

Wow! Never read a word by her before, never want to read one again.

Although I do have an edit to make to the article.

LJ - when you say this: "It reminded me of the time when I asked my now ex-husband whether he was dating again. ?No, not really,? he replied. ?I don?t want to get some woman pregnant, find out she?s a cow, and spend the rest of my life shackled to her.?
Callous? Yes, but given the way some women behave in their quest for motherhood, not totally unjustified."

I think you would be better to have written "Yes, but given the way I behaved in my quest for motherhood, not totally unjustified."

Because 'some woman' was you. You are the cow who made him feel this way.

Perhaps, just perhaps, some women do behave this way in real life and not just in some crappy little Carrie-Bradshaw's-Mother style column or a trashy Hollywood Lets-Make-A-Film-For-An-Actress-Over-30-And-Scare-The-Men movie. But not many.

And the implication that any and every woman over the age of 37 will be in the bathroom squeezing out condoms as soon as the sex is over is false. Not every woman who says she does not want children is lying. As in many other situations involving sex, 'No' does not really mean 'Yes' Liz, so get over believing that "any man who moves in with a woman in her late 30s or early 40s should take it as read that she will want to use them to procreate, by fair means or foul, no matter how much she protests otherwise."

brianmayshair · 03/11/2011 09:56

I read this this am Blush and was truly horrified. She thinks men should be weary of women in their 30s and 40s and yet she declares herself a feminist, what a twunt.

BupcakesandCunting · 03/11/2011 09:58

Speaks her mind - spews her bile-filled brain out onto her keyboard and hits 'send'. And is lucky enough to get paid for it.

Actually, I DO understand the vitriol. She has as good as said that most of us women are conniving little fuckwits who steal sperm from a discarded nodder the minute our partners curl up for some post-coital shut-eye. She willingly admitted that she abandoned her own mother when sick but she would never dream of leaving one of her cats when they were sick. Her article on Jo Yeates is reason enough to send her off in a locked shipping container to a remote South Pacific island with no internet.

Nowtspecial · 03/11/2011 09:58

Mumsy cat loving feminist here, she needs to fire her cleaner, look at that carpet.
I pity her, she's pitiful and unloved, I bet her cats loathe her, look at that one trying to escape.

ShoppingIsMyFriend · 03/11/2011 10:00

couldnt finish the article (says 'article' loosely) what is wrong with that woman?

Actually dont answer that, the list is fucking endless.

But lets start with feminist HAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

brianmayshair · 03/11/2011 10:00

mumbling she is not just speaking her mind she is accusing ALL women of similar behaviour to hers and warning men so as to protect them from our nasty conniving.Hmm

I have never met a woman who did this.

PetiteRaleuse · 03/11/2011 10:02

In the course of my job I have come across many MANY women (of all ages) who have misled their other halves and fallen pregnant 'by accident'. It happens a lot more than we think and although I don't condone it at all, and I certainly don't condone her tarring all women with the same brush, men really do need to learn to take better responsibility for contraception.

PetiteRaleuse · 03/11/2011 10:03

briansmayhair taht is the role of all the Daily Mail female columnists. They think we will accept misogyny from women. And judging by the DM readership they are right Hmm

MistyMountainHop · 03/11/2011 10:06
Shock

she is barking

brianmayshair · 03/11/2011 10:09

Damn the DM sleb site, i want to stop reading but its addictive, started with links from MN. I have never read a Liz Jones one till this am when that one grabbed my attention, is she always such a twat?

RIZZ0 · 03/11/2011 10:09

Her left foot gives me the heebies.

BupcakesandCunting · 03/11/2011 10:13

RIZZ0 Grin I was thinking that. I couldn't stop looking at it for ages.

MenopausalHaze · 03/11/2011 10:13

It's all for attention and she's getting plenty of it! Of course the DM is not right to pay her for acting the loon - in fact they should actively discourage her on the grounds that the freak-show-laugh-at-the-loonies concept was discredited quite some time ago!

RIZZ0 · 03/11/2011 10:14

Buppers Grin

MenopausalHaze · 03/11/2011 10:15

mumbling - I can assure you I do not find her interesting because 'she's so honest'. Speaks her mind? What mind? You do rather show yourself up with that post of yours.

MistyMountainHop · 03/11/2011 10:17

LOL bupcakes i just HAVE to tell you that you are the only person i have heard call a condom a "nodder" apart from my west-country-originating DH, its my favourite name for them ever :o

ItWasABoojum · 03/11/2011 10:19

Horrible - but looking at the comments, it's some comfort to realise even DM readers think she's mad as a box of frogs.

rycooler · 03/11/2011 10:20

Why are some feminists so spiteful? - it's an eternal mystery isn't it.
I'm sure if she tucked herself away in a hippy commune somewhere and only wrote about scheming men you'd love her.

pathetic really.

WilsonFrickett · 03/11/2011 10:24

She's just said, in an article, in a national newspaper, that every childless woman between the ages of 37 and 43 is a sperm stealer. I don't think its spiteful to be a bit dismayed by such a ridiculous comment rycooler.

NoOnesGoingToEatYourEyes · 03/11/2011 10:25

Bupcakes - what did she say about Jo Yeates?

gypsycat · 03/11/2011 10:30

I wouldn't have issues with her if I thought that she in anyway wrote her articles from the standpoint "This is what I did, and this is how I feel, and in no way should this be taken as speaking for every woman." However that isn't the way she writes her articles. She writes them as though she is the voice of women everywhere, and she isn't, not by a long shot. I remember one article I read of her's where she went on about how no woman in her 30's, especially those who've had children, want sex anymore. Confused Ummm, sorry hon, but that's just not true!
