Ta-da!

Come on then Lady D, wallop the Champagne over our bow :)

Twigs - JP is not a bad soldier - he just has "mission limiting self esteem issues with a focus on sexual inadequacy"

and I didn't even have to check that quote! Blush Grin

In case you hadn't guessed, RP, Porter is my favourite chaRActer (when I'm not obsessing about Gizzy Confused).

Russianpony · 21/09/2011 14:44

I think he's rapidly becoming my favourite too!!! It certainly made ironing the Colonel's uniform just now more interesting anyway!!Grin

Twigs - can't believe you've actually breathed the same air as DT!!! Although his voice/accent coupled with his looks is what does it for me!!>. Maybe why I'm partial to a bit of this! and absolutely nothing to do with his attire (or lack of it!!Grin)

Argh - children!!! Mustn't forget the children!!! Back later!!
x

PassTheTwiglets · 21/09/2011 14:46

Sorry Spiro, didn't mean to diss the Porter :) I meant that his ishoos were preventing him from being his best (LOL at you knowing that quote off by heart!)

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 21/09/2011 14:51

I know you weren't dissing JP, Twigs ...

I was just showing off! Grin

Russianpony · 21/09/2011 15:29

Spiro - you so need to come visit me this afternoon - I've had military helicopters all over the place!!! Would have set your heart a racing if you liked Mr Porter!!!Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 21/09/2011 16:13

Well, we live near a small airport, so while they may not be military we do get our fair share of sound effects! Grin

I have to admit I do have a bit of a wibble whenever I see a bloke in camouflage trews these days though Blush

PassTheTwiglets · 21/09/2011 16:22

We live in a Garrison town :)

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 21/09/2011 16:32

THUD!

Russianpony · 21/09/2011 16:38

Oh spiro!! That sounded painful!! Grin You would have loved where we've just moved from - had men in uniform with guns on the gate into my road! Had to drive past them to go out anywhere (and get back in again!). Some of them even smiled at me!!Grin

Twig - do you live there through choice??? I'm missing the camraderie of my last place which was nearer a real Garrison town rather than this half-way house I'm in - probably why I'm back in virtual world with my virtual friends and obsessions!!GrinGrin

PassTheTwiglets · 21/09/2011 17:10

What are you thudding at, Spiro?

Yes, live here through choice, RP (it's fab here!) The garrison is right out of town so tbh you probably wouldn't even know it was a Garrison town unless you drove through that particular bit.

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 21/09/2011 17:47

TBH I have never had any interest in men in uniform whatsoever in that way, but since John Porter, give me a man in proper combats and I'm off Grin!

SupermassiveLBD · 21/09/2011 17:54

Hello, ladies,

Or shall I salute being as we are onto matters military? Hope to be in later this evening, but just now I am off to get my Gizzy on - hope you will excuse me.

I am really pushing it, I watched 1.12 and 3 1 and 3.,2 this morning.

I felt like kicking Marian's shins when she tells Robin Gizzy has been "deprived of love" Okay, then don't marry the man if you don't want him, but don't keep the poor thing dangling on a string Sad

He was lovely the way he was bucketing about, all big sword, greasy wild hair and billowy black shirt. Asking Hood to kill him because he "lives in hell". The poor lamb. Sad

Hope you had a wonderful self-indulgent day, Spiro.

And Twigs and Twigboy had fun swimming.

ROFL @ Stardoll btw. i particularly Grin at the stern feminist bloomers.

PassTheTwiglets · 21/09/2011 18:43

Oh yes Massive, I watched 3.1 a few days ago and was really touched by that scene (where he wants to PLFW to kill him). Heart-wrenching. and bosom-heaving The billowy black shirt was the bit that prompted me to say I'd changed my mind about S3 Guy :)

I do so like the phrase bucketing about - never heard that before but I plan to use it often from now on.

OP posts:
Russianpony · 21/09/2011 19:28

Still haven't quite got the Giz obsession (mainly as I've never actually watched any!) - much as I like your variety of youtube offerings! But I do get the "bucketing around" in his leather trousers!!Smile

Have to say I really am a bit of an RA novice I've only seen him as Lucas and that's where he really came to my attention! So although I'll have seen him in Cold Feet, I don't have any real memories of him from then IYKWIM?

Strike Back may just have to make an appearance in my Amazon basket for the Colonel's birthday - will just have to make sure that I buy it and clear the history so he can't see what else I've been searching for!! (Sometimes wonder if I should get a separate computer/amazon account, or would that be taking the obsession into the realms of slightly too serious?!HmmGrin)

PassTheTwiglets · 21/09/2011 19:35

I'm the same, RP - I'd been vaguely aware of him before but it was Lucas that was my first :) I will never forget watching THAT scene for the first time and having a vague awareness that life would never be the same again :)

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 21/09/2011 20:17

I am very jealous of Small seeing the divine Ute in Chicago. Do you no longer 'do' theatres, Small?

Hmm. I think I've said before that it was N&S - which I only saw for the first time a year ago - that was my epiphany. I had already seen Lucas in Spooks but, much as I love Spooks, none of the gentlemen there have ever done anything for my pulse rate. The funniest thing about N&S - have I told this anecdote before? I only have a very small supply of them so it's quite likely - is that when N&S was screening, The Bloke and I saw a trailer for it in which Mr Thornton was smouldering away, as is his wont. The Bloke (who never recognises any actor apart perhaps from Sir Ian McKellen, Helen Mirren and a few other equally stellar types) asked 'who's that then?' I (who keep in touch with the zeitgeist by reading the Sunday supplements) said 'Oh that's The Man. He's the nation's latest heartthrob, apparently". Little did I know.

Worth the wait

LadyDamerel · 21/09/2011 20:18

Twigs, I know where you live (well, town at least, I'm not your crazy stalker) and LordD's BF lives in the same town, overlooking the firing range.

::passes Spiro BF's address and pair of binoculars::

I am in the process of making 70 sodding cupcakes and 70 even more sodding sugarpaste gerberas to go on top. WHY do I say yes to these orders? I hate making cupcakes and I hate making sugar flowers even more.

I will be depending on you lot to keep me sane.....

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 21/09/2011 20:25

But they sound divine, LadyD. Gerberas? Sounds like the ideal combination of horticulture and cake. I hope you're making a good deal of money from this.

::Foresees a tray of lopsided, singed cupcakes with something resembling a dandelion clinging haphazardly to the top::

Russianpony · 21/09/2011 20:43

Blimey. Gerbera covered cupcakes - puts my bob the builder construction effort to shame!! Grin. This your day job or something you do on the side?

I'm shattered tonight so think an early night's in store for me! Sure I had something interesting to say (for a change!) but I can't remember what so to sleep I go!! Off to a theme park with Russianboy tomorrow with a friend for a birthday treat - hope weather is ok! But definitely need my energy for that!

Sweet dreams all. Wink

LadyDamerel · 21/09/2011 20:48

::blows 1.5kg flour off the laptop::

That's the sort of distraction I probably don't need right now or your prediction will be all too accurate Grin.

Does anyone know what episode Guy tied to a tree with the green rag/gag round his neck is?

::looks pointedly at Massive::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 21/09/2011 21:06

Wot, this one? or do you mean this one?

Massive will know, either way.

SupermassiveLBD · 21/09/2011 21:07

Hello again. did somebody mention Gizzy? He seems to spend an awful lot of time tied to a tree, LadyD. The one with the green neck attire would probably be season one. But I still have my cold and my brain is getting more and more like pease pudding - the 'in the pot, nine days old' variety, at that. So I can't remember which episode.

You don't need me to tell you he was my first RA chaRActer. the one I noticed, that is, though I had seen N&S with friends and thus the divine Mr Thornton failed to register amidst all the girlie chat. Remiss of me, I know.

Season Two Guy in all his glory, standing behind the sheriff with his arms folded, and I thought, Robin is a prat, but wait. Are we allowed to fancy the baddie?

TheSmallPrint · 21/09/2011 21:08

Evening all, Maud I changed jobs so no longer do theatre. Shame really as I used to get excellent seats for free!

I can see I am going to have to watch the early season 3 Gizzy vids as I don't recall that bit with the PLFW (RP do you know all our acronyms?)

Lady D who are the cupcakes for?

SupermassiveLBD · 21/09/2011 21:11

The first one is S3 tied to a tree Gizzy. The second is S1. but as I say, my dozy old brain won't come up with which episode. Besides, I don't want to become a RH anorak. Wink

But I can think of far more interesting places to tie him

LadyDamerel · 21/09/2011 21:16

RP, it's a hobby-cum-job. Doesn't pay enough to be a proper job but takes up more time and effort than a hobby, if that makes sense?

I watched VoD earlier whilst ironing and realised that not only does Harry have Gizzy's hair (presumably because The Man was filming RH either side of the shoot) but he has also stolen Lucas's coat and Gizzy's wedding cravat. The cheeky blighter.
