And, while we're on the theme, Muse would be nothing without New Order and early Queen (and probably a few others too) and (as you say) some of the lyrics could have been written by 15 year old boys trying to sound portentous - and my natural inclination is towards the disco, anyway - but what the heck?

SupermassiveLBD · 29/08/2011 14:58

The perfect description, Maud. But what is frustrating is, with just a ittle tweak, they could have been stupendous. I suppose they had to fit in with the choon, and they thought no one would be noticing anyway, what with the sparkley tousers and all.

Grin Oops, to quote another Academy favourite, I did it again

::Logs onto net-a-porter to look for sparkley tousers, which are very now::

Although we like tousled, don't we?

DumSpiroSpero · 29/08/2011 15:21

Another Strikeback 2 review, describing new bloke as an 'Armitage lookalike'...Hmm

SupermassiveLBD · 29/08/2011 15:23

We like tousled, all right

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 29/08/2011 15:28

Don't we, Spiro?

Serves them right about SB, all those bad reviews.

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 29/08/2011 15:34

Armitage lookalike? Not Pygmalion likely. But that ball-breaker from Holby City is in it, in case they need stitching back together again, or anything.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 29/08/2011 15:35

Tousled, tousleder, tousledest.

SupermassiveLBD · 29/08/2011 15:45

Oh swoon, swoonier, swooniest. And lashings of lashes, to boot.

Maybe he was born with it.
Maybe it's Maybelline.

I have to get on, I can't sit here thudding at Gizzy pics Sad

SupermassiveLBD · 29/08/2011 15:51

Oh baby don't you know I suffer?
Oh baby can you hear me moan?
You caught me under false pretenses
How long before you let me go?

Oooh ooh ooh, you set my soul alight...

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 29/08/2011 15:51

Right. I need to dig the garden. I suggest we go and do our respective chores secret spy missions and then report back to the Academy Grid later for a debrief. So to speak.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 29/08/2011 20:06

Oh dear. Have you yet had the pleasure of the Beverley Hills Chihuahua, possibly the nadir of children's films?

DumSpiroSpero · 29/08/2011 20:59

Thankfully no, although I suspect Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure comes pretty close.

SupermassiveLBD · 29/08/2011 20:59

Never mind, ladies, you will have your revenge, when your dear ones have children, and they start watching Disney Delights.

Evening all, btw. Have you been debriefed yet?

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 29/08/2011 21:17

Certainly not Massive ::model of rectitude:: but I assumed that was why you'd been absent for so long. The Academy tin-opener seems to be missing.

I have a feeling that Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure (a HSM spin-off that we have somehow managed to miss) would make Beverly Hills Chihuahua look like Eisenstein.

DumSpiroSpero · 29/08/2011 21:17

I knew that pic was coming Grin.

Forgot to say, I had a chat with my relative about SB2 yesterday. His opinion was that it was quite entertaining but riddled with factual/technical inaccuracies in comparison to S1.

TheSmallPrint · 29/08/2011 21:20

Alpha two checking in. Are these comms secure?

Loving your debriefing pic Massive Grin

Sometimes when I read your posts, Maud and Spiro, I'm grateful for boys. Then I looh at the mess around me, the football goals in the garden, the bogies wiped on the wall and the Ben 10 / scooby doo DVDs and want to weep.

DumSpiroSpero · 29/08/2011 21:23

I must admit I liked the HSM & Camp Rock films & have a bit of a soft spot for Ashley Tisdale so I don't mind most of them. Took DD to see this last Thursday & was probably the only parent there that was singing along to every number Blush.

If I have to watch 'Dadnapped' again I may lose the will to live, however.

DumSpiroSpero · 29/08/2011 21:26

Evening Alpha 2 - how goes the hols?

Believe me, I bet my one girl could give your two boys a run for their money in the messy stakes.

DumSpiroSpero · 29/08/2011 21:27

...and the nose-picking for that matter Confused

TheSmallPrint · 29/08/2011 21:29

Hols are good so far ta, the SBs are having a whale of a time and I am eating too many carbs and ice cream - only right and proper whilst on holiday.

Spiro let's swap for a week, I fear you may change your mind very quickly.

SupermassiveLBD · 29/08/2011 21:35

What is it with nose-picking? And examining the loot, as well. sigh

Boys, yes. No pink sparky crud, indeed, but I am always falling over trainers the size of canal barges in the hall - and when they have friends round...

I could have used another picture for the debriefing joke, but I thought I'd restrain myself
