Welcome to our newest faculty building. Make yourselves comfortable and ignore the smell of paint. We cannot keep up with the demand for new premises.

Vasey, or Vaisey, or Vaizey. Very puzzling and annoying.

Oh, also, had to giggle as watching Peep Show on iPlayer and David Micthell was wearing a black shirt. DH remarked something like "I bet you're not all wittering on about his black shirt on Mumsnet..." Xmas Grin

Theresahollyinyourmind · 11/12/2010 22:21

As if you would! The very idea!

I missed earlier twiglet references. What have I missed? Can I copy your notes from that lecture?

PassTheTwiglets · 11/12/2010 22:23

Have you seen this, Holls?

PassTheTwiglets · 11/12/2010 22:26

Opaque, a while ago Theresa posted a photo of RA with pixie ears (will try to find it later) and then she and I were saying how we would like to nibble said ears. Flowers/Misteltoe thought that we could do with something else to nibble on so she sent us a picture of some Twiglets. So now any photo that is delicious enough that you want to actually nibble the subject, is a Pass The Twiglets moment. Hence my new MN name :)

PassTheTwiglets · 11/12/2010 22:28

Here you go, Opaque - the original Twiglet pixie ears

Theresahollyinyourmind · 11/12/2010 22:28

Oh Twigs, you clever little Googler you. I looked everywhere and didn't succeed. Of course literally speaking there was no fixed spelling until the 18th century IIRC but I just wanted to use the one most people thought was right. I have put that in my favourites to read properly.
You must do the honours re the twiglet references for lovely, as it was your invention
PS please excuse typos, bad light and sore eyes

PassTheTwiglets · 11/12/2010 22:30

It was Flowers who first thought of administering Twiglets to the hungry, I think I just used "pass the Twiglets first".

Got to dash, DD crying for me....

Theresahollyinyourmind · 11/12/2010 22:32

Oh good you already did so --with illustrations!

OP posts:
Theresahollyinyourmind · 11/12/2010 22:35

I bet you wish you'd never asked, now, lovely!

OP posts:
lovelyopaque · 11/12/2010 22:43

No no, a lovely photo. I completely see how this developed! It's obvious really.

lovelyopaque · 11/12/2010 22:55

I actually hadn't twigged it was you Boden. See what I did there?

Theresahollyinyourmind · 11/12/2010 23:04

Boden liked the twiglets so much, she changed her name.

PrairieOyster · 12/12/2010 07:29

Morning! Had a grand time last night. Back to reality...

But my head is aching so much I may be in need of a doctor

PassTheTwiglets · 12/12/2010 09:25

Opaque, sorry, I should've reintroduced myself - I changed for our Xmas party and decided I liked my new outfit better :) I never liked my MN name anyway (I don't wear Boden and I'm not a babe :o), it was just something I made up quickly when asking a question about Boden clothes ages ago.

Oyster, that's a gorgeous photo of Dr Track! Look at that bicep!! Glad you had fun last night. Sore head today or feeling ok? If you are up at 7.30am I guess you are ok!

Waiting to see if DD has chicken pox, sigh. She has what seems like a bad cold but CP is going all around the school at the moment so every half hour I keep looking at her torso to check for spots.

PrairieOyster · 12/12/2010 10:56

I'm fine Twiggy. Except my feet are aching because I danced the night away in high heels...

PassTheTwiglets · 12/12/2010 11:13

Oh how lovely, it's been years since I've done that! Twigs does not do heels :(

Theresahollyinyourmind · 12/12/2010 11:14

Good morning, ladies. A doctor like that is almost an incentive to feeling ill. I am glad you had a good time, Oyster and hope your head is better soon. I realise you are a RA fan of longer standing than I am, so I presume you are now able to stop yourself from babbling about him in public at the slightest excuse, and embarassing yourself. Unlike me Blush

Twigs, so sorry to hear your DD is on the verge of chicken pox. Poor thing. And poor you because she'll be wanting lots of attention and that gets tiring for the most loving of mothers.

I am feeling quite okay myself at the moment, having been lulled off to sleep last night by some very familiar dulcet tones. Funny how I have come to recognise that voice within nanoseconds of hearing it...Anyway, I managed to hold out until the end of the first CD, and it was so lovely. all light and happy and full of wit, and none of the angst which is so compelling, but so unsettling!

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 12/12/2010 12:36

Morning all.

I have decided that the best policy is to be upfront about my interest in matters Thornton. Guilt is such a waste of emotion.

And at the sight of the good doctor's powerful bicep. There's a similarly sportif scene of rugby-playing in the sweeties vid I posted yesterday.

Holly, have you now dispensed with Venetia and moved on to the Lords of the North? Tell us more.

This is where we ended up last night. Tres tres saucy and I urge anyone within easy reach of London to go.

So, Sunday lunchtime. Shall we attempt to send the sprouts into orbit?

MrsLucasNorthPole · 12/12/2010 13:35

Theresa, sounds like you're doing well with Venetia. Tbh I have really struggled to get into it, I suspect cos it takes so bloody long for Lord D to make an appearance.

Anyway, decided to plough on whilst watching dd's swimming lesson this morning and happily he emerged from the hedgerows just before I had to go and fish her out!

Am getting my sticky mitts on BtS today - I feels dvd in the bath session coming on tonight!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 12/12/2010 14:14

Back from a bit of RL...
It's not guilt that I'm feeling about my biggest crush ever, more embarassment that I can't shut up about it. As though I am twelve or something.

You are all right, Missy, Thornton is a repectable sort of guy to talk about to non-initiates after all and there is the literary Gaskell connection Maybe that should be my angle rather than leather-clad hotties from olde Nottes, a subject I would have blushed at bringing up even as a teenager.

That show you went to looks fascinating, I bet it opened up whole new trains of thought for you. Mr T. in patriotic undergarb, as well as his cravat. Brussels, we have lift-off.

I am still on Venetia, I am savouring it like the fine fare it is. After all it's rude to gobble. Iswym about it though, MrsLNP, it's difficult not to get impatient for the appearance of the big naughty smouldering man. But I do just enjoy listening to the music of the Voice. Sigh.

I snorted with laughter at your chosen venue for BTS research. The bath is ideal, it'll catch all the drool.

OP posts:
Theresahollyinyourmind · 12/12/2010 14:16

Mind you don't get your toe stuck up the tap, though, in your enthusiasm.

OP posts:
PrairieOyster · 12/12/2010 14:26

MrsLNP - DVD in the bath - isn't that a health and safety concern?

Venetia is my favourite of the Heyers - wish I was hearing it for the first time too - I would just take your time and enjoy. LotN is an entirely different thing and he reads it in a completely different way.

I have only been a fan for a little over a year - I was aware of Mr A from Spooks 7 but it wasn't till Spooks 8 came on I investigated further. For some reason I completely missed North and South but again...new baby etc meant my attention was very much elsewhere.

But my year has been spent in serious study. It has also been a pleasure to discover the fan community.

lovelyopaque · 12/12/2010 14:46

Is anyone else seriously impressed with Missy's gallivanting and cultural pursuits? I am. She could impress RA with that rather than DIY chat.
