Welcome to our newest faculty building. Make yourselves comfortable and ignore the smell of paint. We cannot keep up with the demand for new premises.

Oh dear, late again, and I missed being able to say hello to cupcakes.

I hope she was duly impressed by our study last night of medieval underpinnings. I have to admit to puzzlement on that rather baggy ishoo, after following a few links. You don't see any VBL on Guy, do you?

LOTN spoiler alert now.

To my great relief, poor Uhtred has been rescued, though not before suffering the trauma for him and us of suffering a broken nose..

I am, however delighted to report that there is, after all, some more Anglo-Saxon towards the end of the sixth CD. Delicious thrill indeed.

PS Lucas is indeed tres ooh la la. I am still in denial over S9. Vaughan drugged him with scopolamine, IMHO

Morning chaps!

DD's room needed gutting this morning so have spent the last couple of hours holed up in there with LOTN on the CD player. Am pleasantly surprised to find myself really enjoying it!

Am about halfway through disc 2 and he has just met Gisela (presume it's spelt like that but pronounced with a 'y'?).

Am quite astounded at the array of voices and range of emotion he manages to capture 'just' reading a story - although I suppose I shouldn't have doubted him in the first place Smile.

Glad you popped in Cupcakes - did you realise this is our 7th thread Xmas Grin?!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 21/12/2010 13:22

I really admire the way all the proper names are pronounced, MrsLNP, I am sure some research has gone into that.

To change the subject, the dreaded DM has an interesting article about ink-blots

I found the results quite scarey. I am not sure about the second two, as it may skew the results to suggest interpretations rather than give free range to the subconscious. But the first one I saw before all that and was Shock Confused

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorthPole · 21/12/2010 13:29

Will have a lok at the ink blots in a mo, Holly.

In the meantime I appear to have far too much time on my hands Xmas Grin!

MrsLucasNorthPole · 21/12/2010 13:34

Ink blot test scarily accurate wrt to how I feel about certain things at the moment - not sure if that confirms or rules out the fact that I'm going bonkers through a premature mid-life crisis Confused!

SnowyMoon · 21/12/2010 13:39

Afternoon ladies. Well it all went from bad to worse last night, DS2 was up half the night and therefore so was I. He went back to bed but I could not and subsequently my fading cold has come back with a real vengance. Where is the good doctor when you need him?

Anyway, a offering for you all this afternoon.

SnowyMoon · 21/12/2010 13:41

Mrs LN how have I just logged into Techs profile page Xmas Confused

SnowyMoon · 21/12/2010 13:44

That second inkblot I saw a big fresian looming towards me. I wonder what that means.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 21/12/2010 13:45

You and me both, MrsLNP. Though in my case I seem to be going through a mid-crisis life, most of the time. At least we can take comfort that we didn't see what John Porter did. Or similar.

Lotster · 21/12/2010 13:48

Merry Christmas fellow RA lovers, can't keep up!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 21/12/2010 13:50

Same to you, Lotster. Don't be a stranger, now, we miss you.

OP posts:
SnowyMoon · 21/12/2010 14:07

Merry Christams Lotster Xmas Smile

Theresahollyinyourmind · 21/12/2010 14:18

Snowy, so sorry about your bad night. to cheer you up.

OP posts:
SnowyMoon · 21/12/2010 14:31

Thanks Holly, that and a nice mince pie will set me feeling slightly human again.

SnowyMoon · 21/12/2010 16:59
Theresahollyinyourmind · 21/12/2010 17:34

Hello, Snowy, I could do with some of that too.

How is the little 'un?

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 21/12/2010 18:43

Evening all. I'm sorry to hear that the Snowies are still unwell and others are suffering from pre-Christmas stress disorder.

I've been rummaging in the basement. To fill the gap left by the cancellation of the Kings of Leon gig, they will be appearing live by satellite link in the audio-visual room. I love this 100% but some of you may only half-like it. .

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 21/12/2010 18:51

Stop Press! Urgent message for Snowy from the Good Doctor:

Put your head on my shoulder.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 21/12/2010 19:00

That looks very soothing, Missy. Can I borrow him when Snowy has had her turn?

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 21/12/2010 19:09

Well, that would be up to Snowy (would she ever let him go?) and the good doctor's clinical assessment of your need. But surely, as it's Christmas ...

Theresahollyinyourmind · 21/12/2010 19:22

It would only need to be for a second or two, Missy, just to close my eyes and take a deep breath, then he could get back to Snowy.

I personally will restrict myself to a gentle Christmas peck on the cheek for your Mr Thornton, fear not. Though I would also like to assure him of my deep and respectful affection. If that's okay?

Others might feel differently, of course.

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 21/12/2010 19:31

Well, as I said, it's hardly up to me. But I've had an idea.

Here, just as Einstein described, you may be soothed by the good doctor too.

I get the impression that those who are, ahem, looking for more than a gentle peck on the cheek would prefer to receive it from someone other than Mr Thornton. Xmas Wink

Theresahollyinyourmind · 21/12/2010 19:43

Oh, yeeeesss. Thanks, Dr Crinkles. That made up for the fraught time I spent in the kitchen , sieving and straining and splattering stuff all over the show because I forgot to stick the top on the food-processer in my hurry to get done.

Festina lente, Mr Thornton would no doubt remind me. A peck on the cheek seems the right thing to do with such a gentleman and doesn't preclude more forceful action from other quarters.

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorthPole · 21/12/2010 19:48

Well, Missy 50% of that vid was a fantastic cure for pre-Crimbo stress. As for the half involving Daniel Craig. - I've never really 'got' what women see in him (apart from the obvious in that one scene from Casino Royale) and seeing him interspersed with RA doesn't make it any easier to fathom.

I may just be odd though, as Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt and the like all leave me cold too.

MrsLucasNorthPole · 21/12/2010 19:53

As for shenanigans with Mr Thornton, can't say I've given the idea much thought, as Missy has first dibs (besides, what would Lucas say?)....
