Do you have a 'gaydar' for lesbian women and how accurate is it?

Yeah but it’s not always accurate lol but I can usually tell most of the time or at least after someone comes out I think “I called it”

I don’t feel it’s hard at all being an out lesbian now but I’ve been out for so long! But definitely initially it was hard internally for myself for a year or so, I would imagine your daughter is maybe in the throes of that but she will come out the other side. I love a very normal life with my wife and kids and work a normal job and everything is good :)

🥰 that’s what I want for my DD - to meet a lovely, loving kind girl when she goes to uni later this year and have something approximating ‘normal’.

My DD is 16 and unsure of her sexuality. As parents we just want her partner to respect her, listen to her and love her. No matter what the body is. As she is not clear on her preference, how would you comment or help her as her parent?

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 05/04/2025 22:15

Do you like doc martens and if so which model are your favourite

I would just make it clear you support her regardless and that there’s no rush no figure it out

I would go to bed and hope for a better mood tomorrow if I were you

Clearly people are interested, many of them for their kids that are gay, which is no surprise in a parenting forum is it?

You’ve lost friends because you are supporting your daughter who’s gay? What have they said to you?
well I would tell your DD to keep living her life true to herself and she sounds very lucky
to have you

We met through church. I was very naive and no longer attend church. These parents stopped inviting us to things once they learned dd is gay and I later had it confirmed by another friend who is supportive of my daughter that the reason is what I suspected. Traditional Christians can’t be around my gay daughter or dh and I it seems - maybe they’ll catch it 🙄

it’s very normal in my world - married gay family members etc so I honestly didn’t realise educated people would have an issue.

That’s very sad. But no loss really if that’s their true colours

I thought this before dd got a girlfriend and I learned people you thought were educated and normal have a massive issue with same sex relationships. It’s bizarre.

OverpricedCupcake · 05/04/2025 22:22

Do you think males can be lesbians.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 05/04/2025 22:28

If you were on a spaceship, and there was a terrorist bomb aboard, and you had to cut one of three wires (red, blue, and green) to stop it exploding and killing everyone...

  1. Which wire would you cut? (10 points)
  2. Explain your reasoning (20 points)

Erm my post was deleted for asking why anyone would care if someone was gay as it’s totally normal - have I missed something…..and who on earth would report that!

do you prefer more feminine pretty women or more tomboyish masculine aggressive women

Why haven’t you answered any of the questions about whether T begins with LGB or whether transwomen can be lesbians?

Maternityleavelady · 05/04/2025 22:44

do you ever feel self conscious the first time a new female partner sees your private bits? (Like you can’t compare in male-female sexual encounters as they are so different, it doesn’t really matter).

No, I can’t say I have ever felt like that.

eta: sorry I can see now you have already been asked that!

YouCantArgueWithStupid2025 · 05/04/2025 22:48

Are other female relationships with family members or friends less important when you have a girlfriend/partner because you've got a more important female opinion/perspective/company?

kittensinthekitchen · 05/04/2025 22:49

What music do you listen to?

Namechangean · 05/04/2025 22:51

I’m wondering if a lot of posters who think that most lesbians are masculine only think that because when they meet someone femme they just assume they’re straight. They are only able to recognise butch lesbians because it’s so visual.

I’m married to a woman, we’ve been discussing recently if we feel part of the gay community, we’ve been married for 10 years, we don’t go to pride or gay clubs. Do you feel part of the gay community? And if you do what is it that makes you feel connected to the community?
