Where’s the best place to get basics like simple T-shirts, vests, shell tops, but that are of good quality. So many places I see, the fabric is so thin you can see your bra through it. Or it gets a hole in straight away. It gets twisted. Cotton please.

ssd · 26/06/2021 09:15

Sorry, size 16 but 18 on top although the shoulders are too big

KitKatLife101 · 26/06/2021 09:30

5’2 with large breast - what to wear to make one self look taller and more elegant ? (PS I’m not overweight just top heavy)

MissGendered · 26/06/2021 09:43

Where can i find stylish, hippie/Boho type clothes that are not terrible quality or full of frills and beads?

I love harem pants, long tunics, jumpsuits, ponchos and ethnic style fabrics and prints. Etsy is full of cheap, poorly made stuff from Thailand. Free people is shockingly expensive and hit or miss on quality. The designs are also hard to wear for mundane stuff like the school run and a wander round Lidl Grin

I love neutral colours, quality fabrics and simple designs that are loose and can be layered. I wish I had money and the creativity to start my own clothing line as I'm sure there's a gap in the market!

inthekitchensink · 26/06/2021 09:47

Hi OP please can I have a pink & red jumper that makes me happy. Bright colours, any pattern, any material any shape. I want to fall in love.

lightand · 26/06/2021 09:49

I want 3/4 length trousers.
I cant find them in physical shops[been in about 5]

People my age are wearing them. I assume they are doing like me, and wearing old pairs.

kirtsyjl · 26/06/2021 10:14

Hello, size 10, 5ft 7
Looking for high waist smart paper bag trousers with cuff/or cuffed style cropped trousers in crepe or other nice material, knitted high neck vest to go with them - will wear with simple gladiator-style sandals or Stan Smiths
Knee-length tea dresses with short puff sleeves - can only find midi or mini:)
Nice tops to wear with culottes and skinnies - v neck, wrap, high neck vest style, puffed shoulders - short and long suit me best
Ideas for jackets to wear with above for work that are not leather or denim

Dorothy Perkins and Coast?

So you're not the sort of stylist with much interest beyond the most dated used-to-be High St brands? Sad

Bit disappointed - I'd hoped you'd introduce me to some UK and European sources that even my endless online exploration hasn't uncovered. (Particularly just-graduated designers doing their own thing before being absorbed into mega-brands. And new eco-aware brands.)

Maybe these will be of interest. Unfortunately, the type of brands you mention are often high price point and limited in terms of options and sizes because of their budget and production capacity. I am offering suggestions to people's requests and the high street is usually within most people's reach but yes, I'm a 'popular' stylist rather then niche. Have a look at these

www.maisonbent.co.uk a great, black owned sustainable British brand

www.peggysroom.com

www.marybenson.london great company who rework existing styles

This is a beautiful brand for example who make one off pieces from vintage French tapestries. Well worth a look if you have the time to pre order and budget.

5ft tall. Huge belly. Size 18 on waist. I'm working on it.
Everything else is a 14/16 and so jeans either don't button or button but then look dreadful on legs.
Also seems like plus size and petite don't exist together? I'm living in leggings and hoodies but feel slobby.
Can you suggest anything?

Enko · 26/06/2021 10:44

Are there other shops who does a similar style as Sahara London and Pure Collection. I love their straight classic lines but as I am a size 16 I find it hard to find elsewhere (and I hate black) without it shows of bumps. As much as I love Sahara London it is o the pricey side of things.

Jasmine11 · 26/06/2021 10:57

I have a question for you. In your opinion why do a lot of women when they become mums suddenly start wearing a lot of animal prints? I've seen this happen to quite a few friends. Obviously I know lots of women who aren't mothers wear animal print (and this is a lighthearted question) but it's just something I've noticed amongst friends and acquaintances and now I've noticed it I can't stop noticing it happen to more and more people!

SuperSecretSquirrels · 26/06/2021 10:58

Best shapes and styles for those of us long in the body and short in the leg?
Thank you!

pumpkintree · 26/06/2021 11:02

@Orangeinmybluelightcup

Please tell me where I find jeans that fit!
French Connection rebound Jean's are the best Jean's I have ever owned. They never miss shape or "grow" while you wear them.
AvantGardening · 26/06/2021 11:03

I’ve career changed from a formal office to photography. I need a comfortable, practical work/home ‘uniform’ (I might be on the floor or on a ladder for some shots), ideally in black or white to avoid colour casting, but with an effortlessly stylish vibe. Size 8/10, 5’5”, late 30s.

AlGorithim · 26/06/2021 11:11

My stomach is massive and all I can wear are baggy T-shirt’s and elasticated waist trousers and I’m super self-conscious about it. What can I wear which doesn’t cling but also doesn’t look like I’m wearing a marquee? Help!

Yes, I am losing weight but I still need to dress in the meantime!

Poodlesarecool · 26/06/2021 11:15

Hi, this is a great thread! I am having a wardrobe re-think after seeing a photo of myself 🤦‍♀️. I’m 5ft 9ins with long slim legs but I have broad shoulders. Any ideas on tips that will slim down my broad shoulders so I’m more in proportion. Would you say V necks? Thank you xx

M0rT · 26/06/2021 11:19

A short suede/leather/pleather dark rose/blue/navy/sage green/brown coloured biker style jacket with loose sleeves to allow for lymphedema please.
I'm petite but body is probably normal length it's my legs that have me petite.

Ansjovis · 26/06/2021 11:51

I have a pear shaped body (size 8 top half, size 10-12 bottom half). Small waist, massive (by comparison) hips and thighs. I really struggle with finding pretty much every type of clothing, and that's just if I want something to fit, finding stuff to actually flatter my body is another thing altogether!

I'm trying to be a bit more open to new styles so any suggestions would be fab, thanks :)

MorriseysGladioli · 26/06/2021 11:56

I love all the recommendations you've given.
My question is how to flatter a "gunt". Tricky.
