Wow such a kind offer.

Would love some suggestions for everyday styling that is a step beyond my usual jeans/active wear but doesn't feel too dressed up. I've got and odd shape - narrow top half and wider bottom half so like two different body shapes stuck together and also have quite fat calves that I can't seem to get rid of.

Im 40, like blue green and floral patterns, (don't suit red or black), size 16. I need to find a perfect dress to wear to a christening (will be a godparent, christening is being held in a cathedral). I'm happiest in knee length or maxi dresses. Help please!

PegasusReturns · 26/06/2021 00:52

I’m looking for a wedding outfit.

Early 40s. Short, carrying more weight than I’m comfortable with. Currently a size 12. Big boobs, apple type shape.

Want something stand out stylish, bit edgy.

Budget up to £1000 for shoes and dress.

Yousexybugger · 26/06/2021 00:55

Hi! I need to look drop dead gorgeous and glam for a wedding evening do. Tallish size 14, hourglass but no cleavage. Great arse. Broad shoulders. I wear real vintage but don't like vintage reproduction (any era but especially not 50s style) or sleeveless. Any dress ideas please??!

frillseeking · 26/06/2021 00:57

@AvidNameChanger

How can I make a maxi skirt look smart and professional? I love the look of a maxi skirt but it just looks bohemian and very casual. I’m a pear shaped, size 10-12.
Not sure if you mean for every day but here are some inspo images. Adding accessories such as a belt definitely adds a smarter, more styled look. Pairing with a blazer also works really well for a more formal look and keeping the top half smart and streamlined

I'm 5'8 with huge boobs and a mum tum and hips. What style tops would hide my stomach and be flattering for my shape?

coastergirl · 26/06/2021 01:08

You sound like the answer to my prayers!

I'm 37 but I still feel like a teenager! I work in a special school and dress in jeans and t-shirt in most aspects of my life! I'm a size 16 (edging towards 18) with 36GG boobs, horrible love handles but no waist, hips or bum really, so jeans fall down without a belt. I have a really long upper body so need long tops. I have a big horrible saggy tummy after two c-sections. I end up looking awful all the time. Horrible tummy overspill over jeans that's visible. I'm useless at dressing up but I'd love to be more feminine when I'm not at work, and look better at work!

Any advice would be so appreciated!

Where can I find a boyleg swimsuit that is flattering especially for the ample bosom?

1forAll74 · 26/06/2021 01:50

I would hate a personal shopper. They would mostly get everything wrong,as to what suits me,and what doesn't. I know my own personal style, colours, and , price wise. etc...

RubyGoat · 26/06/2021 02:09

@1forAll74 it's a good thing that participation in this thread isn't compulsory then, isn't it.

Endofmytether2 · 26/06/2021 02:10

I lost weight (100lbs+) and have since had surgery to remove the xs skin, which is still a work in progress, lol, as I've recently had a revision to remove more xs skin from my thighs, etc (saddlebags).
I've gone from having an hourglass figure (albeit fat) to being quite straight up and down (boxy).

How do I dress to give the appearance of a waist as I'm now very boxy?

I'm late 40s and only 160cm tall. I now wear anything from size 10 to 14 depending on the shop, etc.

Thanks for any advice. 🙂

Orangeinmybluelightcup · 26/06/2021 06:33

@frillseeking sorry oracle, I went to sleep! If you are still here then re jeans, I am size 10, I wanted an update, I tried wide leg high waist but it turned out I'm 38 not 25. I tried mom jeans but they were falling down huge. Maybe it was the brand. Who knows.

Gemi33 · 26/06/2021 07:31

I'm 5ft 3in, 16/18 and really big boobs, carry most of my weight on my tummy - I feel like I have no waist at all and just go from boobs to stomach, I feel like a barrel. I'm quite girly and really like dresses. Any suggestions for styles that might suit or create a nice shape?

SpringBluebellWoods · 26/06/2021 07:41

I’ve been looking for a casual, full, knee-length skirt for ages. I am a very curvy 10, shorts look awful on me, so this is to wear when most people would wear shorts as it’s so hot. It needs to be full so I can climb stiles, sit cross legged etc. The two I have that work are high waisted, fitted on the hips then full below that.

I have a selection of plain linen t shirts in winter colours I wear on hot days (navy, white, black, ice blue), so it needs to go with those. I’m also always looking for tops in ice colours, if you know of any.

EThreepwood · 26/06/2021 07:58

Where is the best place to get above knee dresses/ tunics for a bigger bust? I'm around a 12/14 with a 36GG bust. I usually shop at Apricot.

TreasuredMim · 26/06/2021 08:05

Have recently transitioned from dyed dark brown hair, when I suited bright reds and greens, to natural grey hair. Fair skin and blue eyes if that matters. Now I struggle to know what colours suit me. Think grey and black probably look okay but as I work in a relaxed environment these seem too formal. Guidance would be appreciated.

Atalune · 26/06/2021 08:29

Oh this is my dream!

I can never find a top that I love.

I have no hip to waist differential and I would say I am average build size 8/10 but with broad shoulders and chunky upper arms. My legs are my best feature and I look great in trousers or any shape.

Cannot find tops that work. So many things make me look like an inverted triangle. I hate it.

I wea deep v t shirts a lot and mom jeans. This is a good look for me.

I’d like to have more top options and skirts. Which make me look quite fat as I have no waist definition.

Can you help?!!

Staffroomdoughnut · 26/06/2021 08:48

You’re brilliant! Wondering where you work / where to see a P.S. for a low cost? Is John Lewis good?

Where’s good for size 9 or possibly size 10 women’s shoes?

somethinghastogive46 · 26/06/2021 08:58

Can you recommend some lovely, smart work clothes for a major fatty (size 24) am trying to lose weight but sick of looking like a scruff in the meantime.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 26/06/2021 09:11

Size 14, 5'4".

I find longer tops which flare slightly over the stomach the most flattering style for me. Prefer sleeveless. Autumnal colours, although ok with black background.
In need of a couple of new tops - one for going out to restaurants and one for more casual ' coffee with friends'

Can you help me find these tops please?
