Jeans for me too please. I am really struggling.

5ft 5, size 12, large thighs, but like a skinny look around the ankle.

My biggest issue at the moment is that high waisted jeans are everywhere and their length between the waistline and crotch is far too long.

RicherThanYew · 25/06/2021 23:11

Office attire for a size 26 in a serious business role please? Blush

FairyTaleEndingPlease · 25/06/2021 23:18

Help!

I'm 40 (but frequently get mistaken for being much younger) and am clueless when it comes to style.

I'm 5ft 6 and a size 18 with an exaggerated pear shape body which I hate. Professional job. Who should I look to for style inspiration?

ContessaVerde · 25/06/2021 23:23

Where can I find a dropped waist dress?

nzeire · 25/06/2021 23:23

I’m 51. 5.5, size 12 to 14. Tellie tubbie shape :) love clothes, have beautiful things, very oversized look, dresses over wide pants, long tunic tops over jeans etc… love Ganni level clothing… am bored, feel frumpy, need an overhaul.

Also, what bloody sneakers? And what boots?!!!!!

frillseeking · 25/06/2021 23:26

@DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult

Size 18, 40 something who needs to get out of the 'jeans and an off shoulder top' phase of my life, but still hide my wobbly bits. I'm also really quite poor.
Not sure what end use you're thinking but as you mention jeans and a smart top I'm thinking casual/smart outfits and maybe moving away from separates into dresses or a jumpsuit but let me know what you think

@WhoNeedsaManOfTheWorld

I have narrow hips and not much bum. My waist is high and my weight sits on 'love handles' Trousers and jeans are baggy around the crotch and hips and fall down. Have you any jeans recommendations?
M&S are smashing it out the park with their denim at the moment. This kind of style would give you shape and flatter your narrow hips whilst being high waisted www.marksandspencer.com/lily-magic-shaping-high-waisted-jeans/p/clp60508377?color=INDIGO

@Taswama

DP buys all his clothes from Next and Superdry. He is short and slim and says lots of clothing that says it is slim isn't. Any ideas of other companies that cater for slim men?
Zara are quite well known for a petite men's fit as they are fit to the Spanish model. Similarly Uniqlo as they are designed originally for the Far Eastern market. Reiss has a neat, tailored look and then higher end Ralph Lauren offer a slim fit and Armani is on the smaller side

@frillseeking - sorry! I am 33, venue nice but not a castle type event - more casual than that. I would say I am typically ‘girly’ - love a floral print! The wrap dresses are what I would typically go for, so you actually got me very well. I never usually look at coast because I always think it will be ‘mother of the bride’ type dresses but the navy Bardot dress is absolutely gorgeous!!! Thank you so much, I am going to order it.

How would I style it? I don’t like super high heels…..!

Biscoffin · 25/06/2021 23:38

I would love to find the perfect white maternity dress for a family photoshoot. I don’t like my arms, and I am not a fan of tiered dresses. Any help would be hugely appreciated! Smile

Rufffles · 25/06/2021 23:40

I'm broad shouldered, flat-chested, big bummed, and long in the torso / short in the leg. 5'6"ish and a size 12-14. Where do I start?! I'd be so grateful for some specialist advice! Thanks in advance!

Biscoffin · 25/06/2021 23:41

I should add it’s a really casual set of family photos, so nothing formal! Smile

CoralSparkles · 25/06/2021 23:42

I’m petite (UK size 4 and 5’1”). Please help me find some new pretty clothes for work. I could also do with some new shorts for summer. Thank you!

Scbchl · 25/06/2021 23:43

Oh I have one..im an hourglass size 14 mid 30s and need an outfit for a hen next weekend thats glitter/festival themed 😭 the others are under 30 size 6s and wearing very little! I want to stick with the theme but look classy

AnnaBegins · 25/06/2021 23:49

Please help me find a light cover up /jacket under £50 to wear with this green dress, I dislike my upper arms and love floaty 3/4 sleeves but am struggling to find anything!

Pic didn't attach, it's this www.monsoon.co.uk/stevie-structured-cross-strap-midi-dress-teal-95043479.html

BarryTheChopper · 25/06/2021 23:57

Size 12, 5’4. Very narrow torso, big boobs, no hips, no bum.

I do a lot of weights though and have pretty chunky arms and thighs so nothing fits me. Especially nothing fitted. If it fits my limbs and chest, it hangs off me everywhere else.

Any suggestions for good shapes to try?

frillseeking · 25/06/2021 23:58

@MarjorieBouvier petite maxi dresses are the holy grail! So very difficult to find. You want something that's petite in length but also a petite cut I.e you don't want something billowy and voluminous which maxi dresses so often are because it would swamp you. So, you're looking for something maxi but on the slimmer cut side

I’m 40, 5ft6, size 16 with a tummy, big boobs, big shoulders and chunky legs. I need a smart black dress for a work event next week - nothing short or revealing and it has to be black. I’d be grateful for any suggestions - thank you

newmumwithquestions · 26/06/2021 00:06

Can you do shoes? I have the feet of an elephant. Size 7, but almost as wide as they are long - pregnancy made them relax and they went from wide to wider than anything anyone caters for.

I’d like some shoes /boots I can wear to work. Shoes are the biggest problem. No skinny heels but a small block one is fine. Everything I try is too narrow.

Oh and also tops and dresses for tall busty women 34g now (I was a 32gg when slimmer) and Am 5’9” with long arms. Everything either gapes, gives me a mono boob or is to short so it rides up and flashes my muffin top. Or oversized things make me look like a Christmas tree or enormous.

Thankyou!

RubyGoat · 26/06/2021 00:23

Where us the best place to buy trousers & jeans for men who are built like Vikings? By which I mean, over 6ft tall, & naturally heavily muscled & broad of shoulder. And a bit of a belly! I'm fed up of seeing DH in scruffy old clothes - he hates clothes shopping as anything in his length is usually for slim men with relatively slim legs.

Whilstwewait · 26/06/2021 00:32

Any tips on dressing a post partum body? Size 10 pre pregnancy. I have lost a lot of my pregnancy weight but still can't find any jeans to fit. Those that fit my waist and hips are too big on the leg so living in jeggings. I also had a csection so now I have a pouch overhanging my scar. Most tops in the shops are cropped and I need something longer to disguise this. Xx

@Notashandyta

What a great ama!

2 questions- where to shop for someone tall but not very tall (ie 5.9" or 5.10")? That is also decent quality, and caters for a range of clothing eg. Swimwear, tops, as well as trousers jeans etc...

I was slim all my life but now early 40's with three young kids and have put on weight, mostly on my boobs. So second question- how oh how do you dress big boobs without looking matronly? And also a mum tum, how to hide a mum tum without shapeless garments that make you look like a tent??!!

This is a tricky one as it is difficult to dress with larger boobs without looking matronly and frumpy. My first thought when you said young children was for every day outfits and I thought of something trendy and current. Seeing as you're tall, I'd go for a slim silhouette on the bottom and then something like the padded shoulder T-shirt would balance out your top half and you could pouch over jeans so you don't feel too conscious of tummy. You could wear with trainers or Birkenstock's. The jumpsuit shape would also flatter your figure as you could carry it well with your height and the soft tie waist would flatter the tummy area and the soft v would show a bit of cleavage without being too revealing. Lastly, the dress from H&M is a great shape as it's very straight over the hips so would show off your slim figure but it's loose over the tummy. It's also not too strappy so would hold a good pair of bosoms! I have this dress and it's great on

How can I make a maxi skirt look smart and professional? I love the look of a maxi skirt but it just looks bohemian and very casual. I’m a pear shaped, size 10-12.

MumblesAndMutters · 26/06/2021 00:44

Desperate for new clothes but miserable about my “mum tum”. I have a small frame, 5’4 and size 10-12 but my tummy is squishy and often bloated post baby, often looks out of proportion. Working on it, but would love some clothes that make me feel more confident in the meantime. I’m mid 30s. All suggestions much appreciated.
