Apologies that was meant to reply to @frillseeking

SuperSecretSquirrels · 26/06/2021 20:24

I would love a kantha jacket like the Toast ones, but they don’t fit me at a broad-shouldered size 20, and the only other ones I can find are patchwork and also look a bit cheaply made.

Budget not an issue. Ethically made more important.

Please and thank you! Cake Flowers

This is a great thread.
If you've not had enough I am looking for a Grecian style dress with some kind of boob support - breast feeding for a million years means mine need support these days.
I'm size 8 5'7" with one arm that doesn't work brilliantly - only mention this as one shoulder dresses can cause an issue. Thanks

HalzTangz · 26/06/2021 20:56

What style looks best for a 5ft 2 size 18 bottoms, 16 tops. 45 year old. Most weight on the tummy.
I'm stuck in ahead and sweatshirt phase

cheeseisthebest · 26/06/2021 21:11

Hello! I'm 5ft 1. Bit overweight, about a stone over. Flabby upper arms. Struggle to find what clothes suit me! Any ideas?

cheeseisthebest · 26/06/2021 21:11

Nearly 43!

cheeseisthebest · 26/06/2021 21:31

Probably need a bit more don't you, just been reading the thread.
I wear a lot of dresses but not so good at casual dressing. Have pale skin and dark hair and just don't know what suits me.
Also have a belly/c section overhang.
Maybe some casual summer suggestions?

Thank you so much!

You beautiful creature, I am in love many times over. Thank you! Flowers
If you wouldn’t mind PMing me your details for when I’m next in need of advice?!

Cantstandtherainydays · 27/06/2021 02:38

What a fantastic thread. You're very kind OP and good at your job.

I'm looking for a comfortable pair of trousers, preferably black, for a size 16, for casual wear. I don't have a large bum or hips, all my weight is on my stomach, definitely apple shaped. I have loads of leggings and jeans, but they roll down over my stomach all the time, meaning I get an attractive double roll!

Also some nice bum covering tops to go with them that suit large boobs. For casual and also a nice one for going to the pub! My budget is really low, I mainly shop on Ebay!

PreparationPreparationPrep · 27/06/2021 08:25

Hi Op - thanks for this thread - it's great!

Can you help with cowl neck tops and jumpers please. I'm busty also I prefer natural fabrics. Cotton, linen, for warm weather and wool blend for the colder months . But can do acrylic jumpers. High street prices too. Thank you

There are some great high street options out there this season because linen fabric is having a moment and is very much on trend. H&M has a whole section on their app dedicated to linen so well worth a look, their basis linen tshirts are fab. I've attached some jumper options for you. I love

More specifically, I've linked some options below

Oops pressed send too soon. I've attached another style below. I would go for this kind of cowl neck style if you're big busted, a softer deeper style as anything with a high neck would be unflattering.

This was a good request to do. Great to see so many nice options out there finally. Natural fibres used to equal frumpy, unfashionable styles but there's so much more on offer now

@PegasusReturns

I’m looking for a wedding outfit.

Early 40s. Short, carrying more weight than I’m comfortable with. Currently a size 12. Big boobs, apple type shape.

Want something stand out stylish, bit edgy.

Budget up to £1000 for shoes and dress.

This ones a bit of a challenge! Everyone's interpretation of edgy is different. I've also noticed that a lot of dresses are longer this season and when you say you're short, I wonder what length you prefer. Couple of options here but let me know what you think. This is the one that stood out for me

Also maybe something like this? Edgy often means deviating from common shapes or fabrics and issey miyake is great for this

Hi,
Thanks so much for your reply. Actually I am looking for ANY dropped waist dress. I had one in my youth which was just so easy to wear. I’d like one to try it and find out if it is a good fit for me now too. If it is, I’d like one to wear at home. One to wear at work, and one for occasions.
I just can’t find any at the moment.
I’m beginning to think I’ll have to make one myself but my sewing skills would be seriously challenged

Hi there! Thank you for doing this. You give very good suggestions!

35 years old, 84x73x89, 165 tall, normally size 6-8, small boobs (AA-A cup :( ) and looking for casual workwear tops to go with jeans (up to £1,000 budget). Mostly long sleeve as I'm always cold, or short sleeve with a recommendation for blazers. Any suggestions please?

I used to wear something like this:

Do you consult online? Do you create makeovers and capsule wardrobes? What does it cost to hire you? Please do tell me to back off if I'm asking inappropriate questions!

timeisnotaline · 27/06/2021 11:13

I’m loving this and need to read the whole thing! Very gracious response to mayidestroyyou as well.
What styles would you advise for a generally slim woman with a tum, tum is concentrated enough to look more pregnant than apple shaped. Otherwise size 8-10, under 40, and would like to look stylish for work and casual.

TimeFlying · 27/06/2021 11:23

This is ace - thank you!

Where should I shop in order to look like a size 12/14 Victoria Beckham? Natural classic. Plain but effortlessly classy and flattering styles.

PegasusReturns · 27/06/2021 11:49

@frillseeking thank you!

I love the shape of the last dress (the second IM) but marigold is NOT my colour Grin

Re edgy I think what I meant was not traditional formal/tailored wedding guest dress. I definitely favour midi length although depending on design I often need to take it up.

Yes the shape is gorgeous isn't it. I also saw this which I think could look beautiful for an occasion, even though it's marketed as a sundress but the print and shoulders make a real statement and it has beautiful sequin detailing. Hopefully some websites for you to get some ideas from anyway!

There's so many options for this, it's hard to know where to start! VB is all about the soft tailor

Pressed send too soon, sorry.

VB is all about the soft tailoring vibes and there are so many great options out there. Zara and Reiss nail this look every season, it's their trademark style. I'd also look at Mango, &other stories, H&M. She keeps it very simple but plays about with proportion and silhouette so a flared trouser to elongate the leg and a cropped waistcoat to highlight her slim torso. But this works well for a 12/14 figure too because it's very flattering and classic. She also plays around with print very well and pairs it back with a simple white shirt like the whistles image below. For classic VB, think sexy fitted dresses or a shirt dress with split or deep v

It's a very difficult shape to find and often described as an 'airy' dress or loose fit so you have to trawl through a lot of shops to find what you're looking for! I've found these options for you. I'd say it's a difficult shape to wear but give it a go!
